Batista winning the Royal Rumble is an awful idea, on accounts that he's only been back for a week, they made it so obvious that he was gonna win, and that there were so many popular wrestlers that deserve to main event at Wrestlemania

The good thing about Russo is that he can make use of everyone on the roster. He's always boosted ratings when he's booking (even in WCW, contrary to popular belief). His product might suck, but history has shown he can get people to watch the show

Batista winning the Royal Rumble was expected, his return was highly hyped that some people expected him to win the match. Russo showed that he can give people on the roster opportunities, even when some of his ideas don't work.

My writing: Bryan and Reigns tie in the RR and then go on to have a Triple Threat match with Orton at WM.

 

WWE's writing: Batista wins the RR after having done absolutely nothing to warrant such for 3.75 years.
