Thunder went in. "So, what do you usually eat here." Thunder asked as he went up to the ordering counter. He had to make this meal rather quick, so he could get back to the business of keeping Canterlot from being conquered by other quarters, since it was the only neutral city.

Ocean put on her best smile, "For a proper meal, I usually have a pasta meal, with a strawberry milkshake, but for snacks, usually something like strawberry cubes." She walks up to the counter with him and takes out her bits, she makes her orders and pays for it, looking in her purse, "Well, guess I'll be going hungry again after this"

"I usually take a burger with some fries and salad on the side." Thunder stated as he rang the bell to call the pony in charge of taking orders. A pony came to the front. "Hello there Thunder. How may I serve you today?" She asked. "I'll take the usual burger, fries and salad on the side." Thunder stated. "That will be 2 bits. Yeah, our prices have been chopped since the situation with Equestria." The pony stated. Thunder handed the pony the bits. "Alright mam, how may I serve you today?" She asked Ocean.

"I'll have my usual pasta meal with strawberry milkshake please" Ocean says, taking her bits out, "here, oh and may I please have some strawberry cubes as well" She pays for her order and waits for it to be cooked, while waiting, she takes out an old photograph.

Soon, both of the foods came out. "Thunder, your orders are ready." A chef called out. Thunder walked over to the pick-up counter and gets the food on a tray. "Hey Ocean! Our food's here." Thunder called out to Ocean as he walked to find a table.

 Ocean smiled and took her pasta meal, milkshake and strawberry cubes, then walks over to the table with Thunder Dash, She sits down and starts to eat her meal, "Mmm as tasty as ever." she says, the photograph she was looking at falls out of her saddlebag.

Thunder saw the photograph drop from her bag. "Hey uh, I think something just fell out of your bag." Thunder stated as he took a bite from his burger. He then chewed and swallowed the piece. "Delicious as always." He stated as he took some ketchup and poured it onto his fries.

Ocean smiles and picks up the photograph, it was an old school photo, of her and her friends, she hugs it close before placing it on the table, and resuming her meal.

 

A mailmare comes up and gives her a letter, Ocean thanks her and reads the letter, her smile quickly turns to a frown and tears swell up in her eyes. "I..I'm sorry Thunder, I'm going to have to take some time off, my father just passed away"

"Wh-what?! I'm so so sorry to hear that." Thunder stated as he took another bite from his burger. "Unfortunately, I don't think there will be a proper funeral for him, because of what Equestria's going through. I'm afraid that the only choice is to have a little get together and bury him at best." Thunder stated with a sigh.

Ocean sighs,, "I know. but my family needs me, I probably won't be long, and most of the arrangements have already been made a while back, we knew it was going to happen, he had another heart attack, and this time, this one was fatal enough to kill him"

"Well, don't go without me. I can help you organize this funeral. If some of your family lives outside of Canterlot, I'm afraid we can't reach them, for we will be going into enemy territory, and I certainly do not want Canterlot to be split. That would be the worst possible thing." Thunder stated.

Ocean looks up from her meal and hugs Thunder Dash tightly and pecks him on the cheek, "Thank you Thunder Dash, it means a lot to me that you'd be willing to help us in our time of need. Luckily all my family live here in Canterlot now, just uh.. when you see my adopted cousin, please try not to hurt him, you see he's a uh... well he's" she leans in close "he's a changeling"

"Oh I would never hurt changelings. In fact..." Thunder stated as he picked up something from under the seat. It was a tiny little changeling, about the size of a young foal. It stirred a little in Thunder's arms and finally calmed down. "Her name is Chirp. She chirps and squeaks alot...which is why I named her.

 

(OOC: Thunder obtained this little changeling after Chrysalis's redemption a while ago. However, Chrysalis hasn't been seen since,)

Ocean smiled, "aaaw she is so adorable!" she says as she gently pets Chirp on her head, "It is good to see that my family aren't the only ones who aren't prejudice against changelings, my cousin's name is Shade Walker, but he answers to Shade too.  I bet he'd love to meet little Chirp here."

Chirp let out a little mew as she stirred a little and calmed down. "You can hold her if you'd like. Just be gentle." Thunder stated as he handed over little Chirp for Ocean to hold. "But we better get to your place." Thunder stated as he got up and threw the scraps of his food away in the trash.

Ocean smiles as she takes Chirp from Thunder's hooves, and kisses her on the head, "Foals, even changeling foals, are the world's greatest gift. And this one especially." She holds Chirp close to her chest as she gets up and puts her food scraps in the bin too. She then adjusts her saddle so that Chirp can sit on her back and smiles at Thunder, she thinks to herself, "Not only is he a major in the military, he is also very handsome, kind, caring and sweet." her smile widens, "gosh, I think I'm in love"

Chirp mewed happily. "Alright then, lead the way Ocean." Thunder stated as he got up. "Is she really attracted to me. Gosh, I didn't know I was that handsome." Thunder stated as he walked out the Canterlot Cafe with Ocean. "So, how far is your parent's place from here?" Thunder asked.

For the first time in ages, Ocean felt herself smile, "It's actually not very far from here, you know the big mansion by the park? That's where my family lives. Before all this happened, they used to  organize and contribute to charities, often opening up our home to those in need, but after all this... I don't know if they do it as much these days." 

 

Ocean starts to lead the way but stops midway to make sure that Chirp is comfortable, she smiles at her, and takes her out of her spot in Ocean's saddle bags then nuzzles her and cradles her in her arms and gently tickles her on her soft underbelly, "Who's a sweet little filly, you are, yes you are!" she coos to Chirp as she holds her close to her, she then whispers just loud enough for Thunder to hear, "and between you and me , your daddy is something special, not to mention handsome"

Chip sort of made a giggling sound. "Awww, she likes you!" Thunder stated walking beside Ocean. "Oh yeah, I've seen that big mansion before. I've always wondered who lived there." Thunder stated as they kept on walking. Chirp attempted to boop Ocean on the muzzle.

Ocean smiles and boops Chirp on the nose back, she then turns to Thunder, "she's such a sweet little filly, and with you as a father, I just know she will grow up to be a wonderful mare." She decides to continue holding onto Chirp as they walk, the feeling of Chirp's warm fur against her own was a sensation she hadn't felt in ages. She smiles, and they soon reach her family's mansion.

 

She opens the door and steps in, "mum! I'm home!" She calls out, and as soon as she does, she finds her mother running up to her and hugging her tightly, with Chirp in between them,

 

Autumn kisses her on the cheek, "Ocean, sweety, thank Celestia you got the letter, I adore miss Hooves, but she can be a little bit unreliable at times." She then sees Thunder, and smiles at him, "Hello there, and who might you be?"

 

Ocean smiles at her mother, "Mother, this is Thunder Dash and this" she holds out Chirp, "is Chirp, his adopted filly"

 

Autumn smiles at Chirp, "Aaw aren't you a sweet little cutie, I know somepony who would just love to meet you"

Chirp mewed at this. "Hello mam, Thunder Dash, at your service." Thunder stated bowing respectfully. "Boy, this is one big mansion, I wonder how they were able to save up for it." Thunder thought to himself as he slowly entered the house. Chirp stirred a little, reaching for something.

Autumn smiles and nuzzles Chirp gently, then turns to Thunder Dash, "Hello there, my name is Autumn Breeze, but you may call me Autumn, and please, there's no need to be formal here" She hugs him, "I see that my darling daughter is finally smiling again, and I am assuming that it is your and your filly's doing, and for that, I must thank you, but first tell me, how do you know my daughter?"

"We met by just bumping into each other. She was trying to command some Royal Guards, not knowing that they were under my command." Thunder stated as he combed his mane. He then gathered some electricity and made his Major badge appear. "But this is why the guards are under my command." Thunder stated. "It also seems that your daughter also has a little crush on me." Thunder said soft enough for Ocean not to hear and Autumn to hear.

Ocean looks at Thunder, "But Thunder, you were the one that told me to command them, if  I saw them just standing by." She says still cradling Chirp in her arms. 

 

Autumn smiles, "Sounds like my daughter, may I ask you how-ever, how do you feel about her?" she asks quietly, "It's just that she's rather fragile"

"That was before we met remember, I saw you trying to command them." Thunder stated as he finished combing his mane. "And I think she's quite beautiful." Thunder said to Autumn blushing ever so slightly. Chirp was reaching back toward Thunder and mewing. "I think Chirp wants to come back to me." Thunder stated.
