"Y-yikes....yeah better she doesn't see her mother like this. He was some large thug. Grey Pegasus, with a leather jacket. Green eyes, short stubby mane" Solar explained as he looked down at Meadow again.

 

Solar was starting to feel an odd attachment to the mare, though for now he pushed that to the side.

"Dear Celestia! Not him!" Daechiril exclaims, "He was the bully that beat her up when she was a filly. Which caused her to run away from home!" She leans in and kisses Meadowlark on the forehead, stroking her mane she whispers, "It's okay sweety, you're safe now, this kind and rather handsome stallion brought you home"

Meadowlark lets out a small whimper before falling unconscious again.

Shadow Wing sighs, "You two go to the guard station, I can deal with her on my own"

"O-Ok" Solar says as he goes to the front door with Daechiril. He opens it for er, then follows her out and heads to the guard station. 

 

"So, your daughter, she is a mother ?" Solar asks.

 

She really is a beautiful mare, and I bet she is nice. But if she has a daughter..... ugh....

Daechiril nods, "Yes, adopted daughter, long story short is, Meadowlark found her in the forest all alone, and took her in as her own. Meadow's always been so kind and caring like that." She says as they make their way to the station, "Is everything alright sir?"

" Oh..OK...Yeah I'm fine, just worried for your daughter, she seems nice. I dont get what anyone would to that to someone" Solar says as they near the station.

 

Soon they were there. " Ok we are here, time to get this thug behind bars" Solar says as he opens the door for Daechiril.

Daechiril walks in, "It's because of her breeding, dear. She's half Pegasi and half Changeling. You see dear, when Meadow was just a little filly, no older than my adopted granddaughter, 6 years old. While she was being beaten by the bully, her changeling side came out and beat him near to death. She then ran away from home." She says as they walk up to the front desk.

"wow, thats crazy. She is half changeling? That's....well, actually that's very interesting" Solar says as he walks up to the front desk. When he does, he reports the thug to the stallion behind the desk, giving his physical description information on the area, and any other details he could give.

The guard behind the desk nods, "Him again? Geeze, well this time he'll be locked up for good. This was his last chance." He says with a sombre attitude. "Thank you, and mrs Daechiril, I take it that Meadow has finally returned to us here in Cloudsdale?"

Daechiril nods, "Yes dear, she has, and she has an adopted daughter"

"Oh that's wonderful, I would love to visit once I'm off work, if that is alright?"

"Of course dear, well we must get back, thank you again Blue Blur"

Blue Blur smiles, "No worries ma'am"

 

Daechiril then walks out the station, and turns to Solar, "Yes, she is. Her father, Shadow Wing is a Changeling"

Maya started to quiver. "Wha...what happened?" She asked as she stayed outside. She was now very worried that something terrible happened to Meadowlark. There was nothing she could do so she just retorted to sobbing. She really needed somepony to be there for her right then and there.

"Heh, that's cool. Sad to hear that it has caused her problems though, people can be way to judgmental." Solar says, when his face suddenly contorts into extreme worry.

 

"S-so what do we tell her daughter?" He say, " I mean, from the sound of it, she isn't that old is she ?"

Shadow hears Maya's sobbing, content with how Meadow was healing, he goes out to the backyard. "Maya sweety, there's been. There's been an incident." He says sadly, sitting down next to her for a hug.

"It is rather sad, and you are right. Little Maya is only 6 years old. I am sure Shadow will think of something. I'm sorry dear, I don't think I got your name"

"No..." Maya said sobbing a little harder. She wanted Meadowlark badly, for she was the one who started it all, the one who raised her and comforted her the most. Maya couldn't take it and burrowed her face into Shadow's fur. She couldn't think of anything else to do.

"I'm sorry sweety, I truly am. But a nice stallion saved her before it was too late, she's resting on the couch and is healing up now. I..I think it is safe for you to see her now" he says wrapping his wings around her. "You really love her, don't you sweetheart?" he asks gently

"My name is Solar...Solar Dust. An Astronomer, I was visiting some family up here in Cloudsdale. Today was suppose to be my last day. But I think I will stay a bit longer, make sure your daughter is all right" Solar says as he walks back to the house.

 

"I hope she is OK".

Daechiril nods, "Nice to meet you mr Dust... Wait? Are you by chance related to the General of the Canterlot Guard?" She asks, "reason I ask, is he was the first to volunteer to help look for Meadow when she ran away, and with her father looking after her, Meadow will be fine. Shadow is not only the owner and the head teacher at the flight school for fillies and colts, he is also a medic."

OK, very good. And Yes, I am, I remember my father talking about that when I was really young. that a child had run away. I wanted to help but he didnt let me. Heh, small world I guess" He says as they near the house. Solar was eager to see Meadow, and maybe even speak to her.

"It sure is dear, and I do remember your father saying that his son wanted to help out." She shakes her head as the arrive back at her place and walk in. "Well Shadow must be out back with Maya, and Meadow seems to be resting and healing up now, it's safe for you to see her. I trust you, as I completely trust your father"

Solar trots over to Meadow.

 

:Meadow, are you awake ? I'm Solar Dust. The stallion that saved you from that thug. I hope you are all right" He says softly, as he stared at her body. She looked a lot better than from the last time he had seen her. That was good. Hopefully she would recover fast/

Meadow slowly opens her eyes, and smiles a little bit, "I..thank you" she says, "Mum, w..where's Maya!? Is she alright!?!" She asks, sitting upright, "Please tell me she's alright! Oh he didn't come here did he?!"

Daechiril smiles, "No dear, she is fine, your father is with her in the backyard, and Blue Blur is taking the thug into custody."

Meadow nods, "G..good." she looks to Solar, "Thank you mr Dust. If not for you, I..I would have been killed, and m..my daughter would be left without a mother...again"

"Call me Solar, please. And dont worry, I made sure she still has her mother. I hope this incident dosent effect you two too much" Solar says, as he puts a reassuring hoof on her shoulder and smiles. For a split second, he finds himself looking into her eyes.

Meadow's eyes had that strange tint of red around and in them, due to her being half changeling, but her chocolatey brown eyes met with Solar's blue ones. She smiles at him, "thank you, and as long as Maya knows I'm alright, nothing will have changed." She continues to gaze into Solar's eyes, "he's caring and cute, oh how it would be wonderful for my angel to have a father too" she thinks to herself, and finds her hoof reaching up and holding Solar's hoof on her shoulder.

Solar blushes and holds her hoof happily.  After staring into her eyes a bit Solar looks around.

 

"Yeah, I'm glad you have a happy family like this to stand by, I bet her father will be happy to find out you are all right" Solar says with a sad sigh, assuming the Meadow was married.

Meadow sighs, "I..I'm afraid that I am the only parent that my angel has. She has no father, nor do I have a husband." she says with a small sigh again, "She isn't any ordinary filly, but you will soon see for yourself, if you'd like to stay for dinner. It's the least we can do to thank you"

"Oh? " Solar exclaims as his attitude shoots through the roof. Suddenly his eyes were energetic and he seemed very happy. Solar slowly scooted a hoof over and placed it on top of one of hers. 

 

"I would love to stay for dinner." He says with a smile and a slight blush.

Meadow smiles as she notices the look in Solar's eyes. She then asks her mother, "I..is that okay with you mum?"

Daechiril nods, "Of course it is sweety." She then leans over to Solar, "Solar, a word please?" she says getting up and waiting for him to follow her out of the living room.
