Meadowlark held Maya close to her chest and her heart, "I..I need rest. I..I'm s..sorry, this was all my fault" she says as she slowly closes her eyes again to rest and snuggle Maya close. She drifted off to sleep again, but this time in consciousness.

(Skipping to her birthday.)

 

A few months passed. Maya soon woke up to a bright sunny day. Her leafponies were still by her side. Maya slowly woke up with no memory of what happened with Meadowlark. She was completely free from the curse. She woke up and gave Meadowlark a little pat. "M-mommy?" Maya asked.

Meadowlark slowly opens her eyes and smiles, then pulls Maya in for a big hug, "Good morning sweetheart, there's something for you in that box over there in that corner." Meadow says with a grin, she had bought Maya some new toys and some foals' books to read.

Maya looked over. She then remembered something. "M...mommy...today is actually ..the...day I was born..." Maya stated as she eyed the box with the new toys in it. Her leafponies were still curled but they soon woke when they heard Maya's voice. She slowly walked over to them.

Meadow smiles, "Well then love, happy birthday. That box there contains your birthday presents, why don't you open it?" she says as she slowly gets up, even though it had been months since what happened, Meadow still had the memories and the pain from it, so she slowly walked to the kitchen to prepare a surprise for Maya. Wincing as she walked though, and nearly tripping over her own hooves.

Maya saw as Meadow nearly tripped. "Are you okay mommy?" She asked as she started to frisk through the toys. She was very happy that Meadowlark gave her the gifts. She then ran over to her and gave her a big hug. "Thanks Mommy!" She said with happy and silly little giggle.

Meadow smiles and hugs her back, "I'm fine darling, just a little sore, but nothing to be worried about. And you're very welcome sweety, is there anything you would like to do for your birthday?" she asks smiling down at Maya and gently running her hooves through Maya's mane.

"I don't know..." Maya stated as she blushed lightly when Meadowlark ran her hoof down her mane. She then walked over to the pile of toys and found a spinning top. She picked it up, but didn't know what to do with it. "Mommy...what am I supposed to do with this?" Maya asked.

Meadowlark smiles and walks over and demonstrates what to do with it but pushing down on the top of it, making it spin for Maya. It spins for a few seconds, then Meadow gently takes Maya's little hoof and places it on the top and gently presses down, once again the top spins for a few seconds, "there you go sweety, you have  fun time, mummy has something she needs to do"

Maya watched top spin. It then slowed down. She then got it to spin faster then before. As it was spinning, she saw some more toys. She then saw some more books. Maya looked in them. They were pictures of ponies for her to color. She then found other toys. The top had stopped spinning.

Meadow watched from the kitchen and her heart melts as she sees how much joy Maya has with playing with her new toys. She smiles as she prepares a cake and puts it in the oven. She walks out of the kitchen and gives Maya a special birthday hug. "I love you my sweet little filly" she says, stroking her mane.

"I love you too mommy." Maya said embracing Meadowlark. Her leafponies looked on as Maya and Meadowlark hugged. Maya had completely forgotten about the incident that happened a year ago, but she still had the memory of how she was born. She was holding one of her small dolls as well.

Meadowlark continued to embrace Maya with a smile. She knew that Maya's leaf ponies were really only just extensions of Maya, she felt bad that they looked like they were being left out, so she pulls them in gently to the hug as well, and a small tear of happiness forms in her eye, makes its way down her cheek and lands softly on Maya's muzzle..

Maya felt the tear and flinched. "What was that?" She asked starting to quiver lightly in Meadow's hug. She still had not gotten used to things happening all of a sudden. Only in a matter of time she would get used to it. Maya's leafponies snuggled in the hug as well. Even though they were just creations of Maya, they had a little bit of emotion.

Meadow smiled, "Oh sorry love, that was a tear. I was...crying." she simply says, then realizes that the only times Maya had cried was when she was scared or upset, "But don't worry darling, I wasn't upset or scared, I'm actually quite happy." she says, hugging Maya and her leaf ponies.

"Huh? But...but...that doesn't make...any sense at all...how could...you be happy...when you're...you're...crying?" Maya asked very confused. Maya's leafponies were still by her side, snuggling. 

 

(In a little bit, I'm gonna skip to when Maya turns 13 year old, which would start her teenage years.)

@, (okay and I'm thinking of making Meadow think of her parents and try to get back in touch with them and take Maya to see them)

 

Meadow smiles, "Oh darling, you have so much to learn. Crying is just restricted to when a pony is scared or upset. It is simply a reaction to feeling strong emotion."

(Remember, Maya has no parents at all. She was made from the potions of the sage. Meadowlark is her true adopted mother.)

 

"Oh...okay..." Maya stated as she continued to snuggle in Meadow's fur. Suddenly her stomach growled. "Mommy...I'm hungry..." She stated as she uncoiled a little bit to try to get up.

@, (yes I remember that, Meadow's parents will be more than happy to have her as a part of the family, Meadow wants Maya to meet them and them to meet her, so she can be)

 

Meadowlark smiles, "Well you just sit tight here and play, I have a surprise for you, which will be ready very soon." She gets up, hugs and kisses Maya then walks into the kitchen.

"Okay mommy." Maya stated as she waited. She then went to the kitchen and tried to look for some water. Even though she was half pony, her plant side needed water to sustain itself. She was able to get herself a small glass of water. She then poured it on herself. it was absorbed.

A few minutes later, Meadowlark comes out from the kitchen holding a chocolate cake in her hooves and a smile on her face, she places it in front of Maya, then licks her on the cheek, "Love you sweetheart, hope you enjoy it" she says cutting Maya a small slice.

Maya had a smile on her face. Maya started eating the small slice. She finished it within 2 minutes and started on the rest of the cake. Because of the ammount she ate last time, she got used to eating more and more on one sitting. Maya's leafponies watched as she ate. "Thanks mommy!" Maya stated after she took the first bite.

Meadowlark smiles and replies, "you're welcome sweety" she then walks over to the window and looks out of it, with a small smile but sighs silently. Thinking about her real surprise for Maya, the only problem is if she would want it or not. She wanted to reconnect with her parents, not only because she missed them terribly, but also because she wanted Maya to feel like she was really part of her family, and in case something happened to Meadow, she needed to know that Maya will be looked after.

Maya continued to eat her cake. She then decided to lay belly-up and eat. She was just short of a quarter of the cake. She continued to eat her cake. Her little belly started to stick out again as she continued to eat. Maya's leafponies were still looking at her. Maya could barely see Meadowlark by the window.

Meadowlark figured it would be best if she just asked Maya, she walks over to her and sits in front of her,  she holds her hooves in hers, "Maya sweetheart, I have an extra special present for you, the only thing is, we need to leave the forest for you to receive it."
