TBH I like the comics "canon but not canon" (supposedly its been said its canon if people want it to be, but show/comics won't be stepping on each other literally) stance with the cider = booze to the ponies makes for some.. funny crowd scenes It's not necessarily a bad thing since the fandom has a lot of imagination, so it's not. It is, but isn't.. its really a VERY deep grey area. Especially with the asinine "waifu" thing people get going sometimes. It gets to the point where they literally expect it to be canon, and not just fanon/head canon.
