ZStrike37 107 February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 Maybe I'm the only one that is seeing this (or at least I think it's there anyway), but has anyone else noticed that the ponies are becoming more and more anthropomorphic? Like, does it seem that the ponies are doing more and more on their hind hooves than previously? I remember the first two seasons and I can't recall when the ponies would "stand" up often. But with S3 and even more now with S4, it seems like they "stand" up pretty regularly now. I mean, with Pinkie Pride, There was a ton of hind-hoof-standing, not to mention dancing. I dunno, maybe I'm just seeing something that really isn't there. But I wanted to ask if anyone else had this kind of thought or saw what I'm seeing (again, or at least what I think I'm seeing). And don't get me wrong. I'm not angry or raging or anything. Just curious about it, that's all. No need to get your saddle in a bunch. So much Friendship! joecal97 340 February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 (edited) Well, it's true they are spending more time on their hind legs, but in pinkie pride, the whole point of the dancing bit was to be goofy, like us doing hand stands, but they stand on hind legs instead. I'm thinking it was just for that reason, but I have been wrong before.... There could be more to it, like the 'film/project' some of the hasbro guys have mentioned, but I don't know for sure. It's an interesting point Edited February 6, 2014 by joecal97 If you actually took the time to read my forum post, I thank Love you Dashie
ZukoIsBestPony 561 February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 Whether or whether not that's true, I don't really think it's cause for alarm. But ya, I've noticed that too. M'aiq the Liar 5,804 February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 Well it's to allow them to preform more physical gags, and being more human makes them more relate able to their audience base ( little girls). And besides, humans are best race, so the more human the better 1 http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/vera-yeoman-r5921Muh pleb tier OC .http://mlpforums.com/blog/1663/entry-12477-pony-waifu-wedding-13-maiq-x-fleetfoot/ MLP forum's #1 Fleetfoot fan also married to fleetfoot <
Shine 166 February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 I think it's the hind leg thing is because the animation is getting better and allowing for more of those kinds of poses, but I have noticed another thing: the ponies' faces appear to be getting shorter/rounder and less horselike in the newer episodes, at least sometimes. -shrugs- You could be right, but it could also just be a coincidence. You are a ghost, driving a meat-coated skeleton made out of stardust. What have you got to be afraid of?
True Rarity 1,240 February 6, 2014 Share February 6, 2014 Well, if you're afraid they're going to turn into humans, then that's outrageous. But you are right, they are standing on their hind legs more. This is mainly because of Pinkie Pie and the "goof off", I guess. Scootalove 10,689 February 7, 2014 Share February 7, 2014 I think they stand on their hind legs more because, it has more opportunities for comedy and slapstick gags. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Tigerpop198 696 February 7, 2014 Share February 7, 2014 It's something that I haven't really noticed, it would give more freedom of the jokes thought, with the ability of standing up.
Moved to Elsewhere 11,331 February 8, 2014 Share February 8, 2014 (edited) Maybe it's due to the animation getting better so now they can have the ability to do more movements leading to more gags.
