CharmingStallion 63 February 22, 2014 Share February 22, 2014 One thing I think would benefit this forum and made many of us happy would be a split of section specifically for people who want to post about clopping and topics of an adult nature. 1st this would allow those of us who want to continue to explore this show and fandom as something innocent and fun to do so without the gross clopping/adult discussion posts 2nd this would give parents peace of mind allowing their kids on here (lets face it many fans are kids afterall) We could do this a few different ways depending on how intrusive we want this "filter" if you will. We could simply include a popup that advises you are entering into an adult section of the forums (Adult Content). Or we can have a forum section specifically dedicated to those topics so we can keep the rest of the forum clean and move topics found to contain adult content to the adult section. We probably wouldn't want to restrict anyone from entering the adult section, but by making it separate those of us who want to keep the show innocent can avoid that section easily enough. I would greatly appreciate it if this could be looked into. Or at the very least give us a user setting that filters out adult posts or somesuch. Thanks! And the gay one brings sex into the pony world which I really don't want to associate with those cute funny characters...be it homo or hetero. The idea of having one or more 'mature' or otherwise NSFW boards has been presented to us numerous times; while we have nothing against people that enjoy such material, we have no plans or desire to host such content or discussions here.This is, unfortunately, non-negotiable.The reasoning behind this is simple enough. The Poniverse and all the sites involved within (including this Forum) are designed to be friendly AND mature, and to portray such an atmosphere we need to tone down on any NSFW material.NSFW content floating around can unfortunately go against this image and could potentially give the Poniverse a bad name. While such a section could be age locked to 18+, for safety reasons it's best not to have the section on the site at all.We hope you understand the reasoning behind this. This rule is enforced - users found to be under 13 are suspended until their 13th birthday. This may sound harsh, but it is done to help protect young children from inappropriate material, in addition to maintaining compliance with COPPA and similar laws. See this FAQ article for more information. Due to the fact that this is a 13+ forum, discussing mature and/or sexual issues such as clopping is acceptable here, as long as it does not cross the line and become gratuitous. I understand that these topics make some members uncomfortable, but in all honesty I don't agree that we should create a new forum section for inappropriate topics. It would be very difficult to organize, as topics dealing with potentially objectionable material can occur in many different forum sections. I think the simplest solution is to just not click on any topics that deal with topics that make you feel uncomfortable. Of course, if you see anything that you feel crosses the line, you are free to report it, and the moderation team will review the situation. Additionally, there is a FAQ article that explains why we do not want to add an NSFW board. Discussion of adult material is acceptable as long as it does not become gratuitous, but posting pornographic or extremely violent images, videos, and so on is not acceptable anywhere on the site. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
NavelColt 22,881 February 23, 2014 Share February 23, 2014 The idea of a clop forum, while enticing as to allow a new and exciting (giggity) member base, is not something our owner and many staff members are comfortable with including on our site. On top of that, legality issues mentioned above would come into play. To have a NSFW site, our site as a whole would need to be geared to 18+, something we cannot do, seeing as we're a forum community for fans to discuss things of any (internet legal) age. As far as 'mature' topics go, I assure you that nothing of 18+ nature should be existing on our site, in the ways of sexual or otherwise overly graphic content, description or otherwise. If such things do exist, I'd encourage you to report them and see if your thoughts on the appropriateness of those given threads are shared by the staff & essentially, the site's rules. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
