   A small group of ponies in armor stood in line. A general stood in front of them. "Because of what happened last week, I am putting a new Captain in charge of Charlie Squad. He is waiting for you in the Medical tent, so get going A.S.A.P!" The General yelled before he walked away.

 

 

   Times stood looking at a patent in the Medical tent. "looks pretty bad, Bon Bon. I'm sorry but I may have to amputate" The pony that sat on the table began to have a worried look. "I'm sorry, it's just that the shard of metal has completely shattered the bone and your leg's cells have already started to die because of the blood veins being severed." Times said to the mare as he opened a drawer and pulled out a syringe. "Don't worry, this will all be over soon." He stuck the syringe into a vein in the mare's front leg. The mare began to lay down and sleep. Times threw away the syringe and pulled out of surgical tools. He put a clamp around the shattered leg to stop blood flow, then he pulled out a combat knife and cute the muscle and tissue. He then removed the leg, and fixed the skin around the severed area. "Now I just need to give the bad new to Mac and I can head back to my tent. Times walked over to a large red pony on a bed. "I have bad news... Your not going to make it... No matter what I do it seems that if I try to remove the bullet, it will kill you. Would you like me to end your suffering." The red stallion looked at Times "eeyup" He said. Time pulled out a black syringe that had a skull on it. "It was a honor working with you, Mac" Times injected the liquid that was in the syringe into the stallion's blood vessel. The red stallion went limp and his heart stopped beating. " I'm going to need more body bags"

 

 

(OOC: I never said that fan favorites were gonna live, Like I said I'm starting to rethink this.)

Embers looked over at the tent, he could hear some pony talking about body bads. He shivverd, and looked back up. He nugged the pony next to him "Who you think is gunna be are new capton?" He asked

A guard looked over to the others. "Remember you see that blue armor, open fire got it." The guard said. The others nodded, and readied their muskets. The guards looked around the dark area around the camp. "He Cap. do you see anything" The guard yelled to Atlas.

Embers looked over at the tent, he could hear some pony talking about body bads. He shivverd, and looked back up. He nugged the pony next to him "Who you think is gunna be are new capton?" He asked

Overlord sighed and turned to face ember

 

"I'm not sure but best to not lose hope we can still win this war and our new captain hopefully is somepony that can dodge bullets better than our last leader"

 

The overlord shifted his musket and sighed again

 

"War is hell Ember"

Sapphire sighed and got up, walked over to the tent "Uh...I was thinking, when are we going to move?"

 

Embers yawned as he looked at his rifle "Mmmmm...I cant wait to blast em back to the MOOOOOOOOOOOON" He laughed a bit, he had already lost all of his fammaly to the war

"Not a thing!" He yelled back. Atlas sighed. 

"Why did I sign up for this?" He asked himself. Oh yeah, because he wan't things to back to before this thing and get his family in Cloudsdale back.

"Wait!" Atlas picked out a small figure in the distance. That had to be an enemy... Way to dark. He raised his rifle to it. 

"steady..." He took a deep breath. BANG. The figure dropped dead. Atlas felt a pang of guilt. He had killed many times before but that was self-defence. This was war... Atlas relouded his gun in silence.

Times took walked out of the tent with his blood covered jacket. He looked at the ponies that were standing outside of it "So I'm guessing your my new team. Well lets hope you don't end of my last team. " Times said as he took off his jacket revealing his steel plate armor. The jacket concealed 4 flintlock pistols, and a long rifle. "So what's your names" Time's said with no emotion what so ever.

The overlord stepped forward and offered his hand to times

 

"Captain overlord of the 5th luna brigade I've been around since the start of this war and I'm sure as hell gonna be around to finish it"

 

He shifted his musket and his axe so both were in easy to grab locations

Sapphire tilted her head and sqinted "Uhhh...My name is sapphire" She took a step back, all she had was her old spear...Nothing else

 

Embers looked over at the pony who had just shot someone "Jeeze, you dont even know who they are!" He sighed and sat down, looking around

Atlas looked out at where the now dead or hopefully dead figure was. His humane side was telling him to go and retrieve it but his more rational side said that idea could easly get him and his team shot. They could carry a white flag and such but he didn't know if Nightmare Moon's army would follow the unwritten rules of war. A dead pony is a dead pony no matter whos side it's on and he had respect for the dead.

"I need five volenteers on me!" After a minute or so five ponies gathered.

"What do you need cap?" 

Atlas cocked his fez. He didn't care it wasn't regulation nopony had complained. 

"We're going out there"

"Sir? That's suicide!"

"There's a body out there and I plan to retrieve it. We'll have a truce flag and such. If you don't want to do this go dismissed" Two of the ponies left.

"All right you three. Here's the job. We run out with a streacher. Get the body and either A. Take it to the enemy for them to deal with it or B. We take it with use to bury it. Most likley the latter. If they start shooting run the back to the lines. If not. We take it to them. If they have an ounce of respect in them they'll let us go. Any questions? No? Let's go"

((I've got a feeling I'm going to be the first OC gone...))

Atlas and his team waited in a trench with a white flag up and a strecher in hoof.

"Let's get this over with..." They rounded the top and begane to creep toward the body. Suprisigly not a single shot came their way. They reached the body.

"He's dead alright..." Atlas said a little prayer as they placed the body in blue armor on the strecher.

Times shook the overlord's hoof "nice to me you"  Times looked at Sapphire "I knew somepony named Sapphire once, before she joined the Celestial Empire." Times said as he pulled out a flintlock pistol that looked different from the and looked at it. The pistol had a black and longer barrel. It had writing on the hilt.

"Sir. I don't like this idea"

"You can go back if you want. Nopony will think differnent of you"

"Thanks. Come on" They began to trek across no pony's land to the enemy camp. From the fires Atlas could tell an enemy marksmen could easly pick them off right now. 

"come on. And take it slow" They had gotton into firing distance of troops on the front. 

"Hello! We've one fo your dead! We want to return him!" Atlas shouted. He tensed a little ready to hit the dirt if shots came their way.

Sapphire tilted her head at him "Are you implying I am a treater? No, I only seek to replace luna s the queen, as she would be fair, and not keep everypony where they are"

 

Embers face hoofed "Alright alright" He sighed and got up, following them as they walked away

Times looked at her "Just because I said a mare named Sapphire doesn't mean I meant you" Times looked at the coming Celestial guards. He aimed the flintlock into the air and fired. "Get out of here you Gold armored Skirmishers." Times pulled out a normal flintlock pistol and fired at the group, he brought down on of the regulars even though he was aiming for the Captain, but the flintlock was not accurate at to far of a range.

We found him out in no pony's land and all of us here volenteered to bring him to you so he can get a proper burial rather than rot out there! Now do you want him or not! If not at least let us return to our lines!" Atlas tried to look as passive as he could.

"I don't want a fight here. We can act like civilized ponies"

Embers laughed as the pony next to him fell "Guess no, them lunanans act like dogs" He pulled out his sword and walked with them

 

Sapphire ran to the side of the camp, grabbing a rifle as she ran, she looked back at the pony she had been talking to "Yes, I know, but there arnt that many ponys named sapphire..."

Times grabbed his helmet from off a barrel and put his hoof up to tell his team to hold position and get ready to fire if needed. Times put down the face guard and walked out into the neutral zone, as the Lunars called it, He approached the guards and looked at the corpse of the lunar soldier. Time took off the helmet, He kept his hand on his saber just in case. "Well at least your not the barbarians my last team thought you were." Times said the the Captain of the Celestial soldiers.

"We're not. A lot of ponies on our side of the line think the same of you. I don't fall for the prapoganda Canterlot is pumping out. We're all hurting out here. We can at least act like civilized pony beings. Not to talk like freinds here but would you happen to know of a zebra by the name of Zecora? She's a friend of mine on your side of the line. Or the condition of Cloudsdale? My whoel family lives there. I've only got a friends all over on both sides of the line. Just damn this war. Oh, your soldier here. He went fast"

"He was a messenger, and yes I do know of the Zebra by the name of Zecora, She helped me with making remedies that cured some of the diseases that soldiers began to get. Also Cloudsdale is under good care, I'm sure your family is safe." Times said as he pulled out a letter from the messengers bag. "I just hope that this war end soon, before any of my friends on both sides of the border, get hurt... Now get out of here before I'm forced to shoot you" Times said pointing towards the Celestial camp. Times picked up the messenger and carried the body back to the camp.

Embers looked around and sighed "Well, guess we wont be killing or being killed today" He smiled as he walked around, looking tat the others

 

Sapphire sighed a sigh of releaf, there would be no fighting now. She still had yet to kill somepony, and she hated the feeling of having to wait

"Tell her I'm alright!" Atlas shouted as they returned to his line. Now all he had to do is explain his actions to his leaders...

 

"don't pull somethin like that again! I don't care if it was a good cause. I don't want you shot or you talking to those rebel pigs! Now go back to your post. Oh and wear a helment instead of that thing"

"Yes sir" Atlas went back to his ponies at the front.

"What I got from that soldier was Cloudsdale is doing alright"

"And you trust him?"

"He seemed fine. Not everypony on that side is a monster"

"If you say so, sir"

Atlas hunkered down for another night on the front. War... War is hell...

Times set down the messenger's body and opened the letter and read.

 

  To the ponies of the New Lunar Republic,

  Fellow Citizens and Compatriots

 I am besieged by hundreds of Celestians under General Goldflame. I have sustained continual bombardment & cannonade for 24 hours & have not lost a stallion. The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken — I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, & our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I will never Surrender or Retreat.Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the Equestrian character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch — The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily & will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days.  If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country. 

 

Times folded the paper and looked at his team.

Atlas looked out into the fields. Nothing... Just mud...

"Hey Captain!"

"Yeah?"

"Did you hear? Some fort near here is under siege"

"Theirs?"

"Yes. I hear they're going to kill um all surrender or not"

"What? Where'd you get this?"

"Right from the general. I heard him talking while passing his tent"

"I'll be right back" Atlas walked to the general's tent.

"Sir"

"Yes, Captain Atlas. What do you need"

"One of my ponies told me we are attacking a Lunar fort near here"

"Yes..."

"And we plan to kill all of the garrison"

"Correct. Those rebel bastards are going to get it good"

"Sir! I don't... I do agree with this choice. Make an example"

"Good. Was that it?"

"No sir. I'll take the night watch tonight"

"Really? I thought you hated it"

"It means one more pony can sleep tonight"

"Alright then" Atlas left the tent with a expression deep in thought. Time to write a letter.

Lightwing started to look at the fields.What before was a flowering field,now it was a battlefield.

She didn't even knew why was she fighting.

Others will say for the peace,but...has the peace such a high price?

I know thhat our target is to bring the 2 pricesses again together,but...it has to be so violently?...

A stallion looked to Lightwing from across the campfire "It's what needs to be done" The stallion said looking at the fields. "And we've already tried negotiating" 

 

(time to give the Celestials their third OC)

4 Stallions moved through the grass towards the Celestial camp. The guards put up their guns when they heard the clanking of armor. "Who is there" one of the guards said. A small black rope came out of the bushes and snatched the guards gun. The 4 stallions revealed themselves. They all had the Celestial crest on their shoulder armor. "hold fire we're friendlies." said one with golden armor. Incog. sat in the bushes and looked at the guards as 6 tried to get them to put down their guns.
