Times looked at her. "I said don't try to go to sleep, you may not wake up..." Times said before standing up and walking over to the cannon. Times saw the running soldier. "Hey, wheres the fire?" The soldier was speaking gibberish until Times slapped him. "Stallion... in... the... tree!!" The soldier yelled.

Embers kept darting from tree to tree, trying to get around them. He sighed as he loaded his rifle, he had to get rid of the pony that was tracking him. He darted around another tree, jumped in mid air, and took a shot. He slamed into the ground, he had misjudged the time he had

 

Sapphire closed her eyes

Times turned around and he felt the bullet hit his helmet. Times was knocked down again and quickly pulled out his flintlock. Times fired and used his wings to quickly get him back on his hooves. Times looked at Sapphire who had closed her eyes. Times rolled his eyes and ran over to her. He fired one of his flintlocks into the air to wake her up. "what of don't go to sleep don't you understand!" He said sternly.

Sapphire jumped up "Uh uh uh...Sorry, I thought...I thought you told me I should go...sorry" She looked down and sighed

 

Embers cursed, he had ment to hit another pony, but that one was still there with his stupid helmet. He sighed and reloaded his rifle, he would have to be much more carful

"Its ok, just don't try to sleep until I give your the green light... ok?" Times said before turning to where the bullet had come from. He started walking over as he un-sheath his Saber. He also opened his wings just in case he needed to make chase. The stallion came into view and Times began to walk fast.

Embers kept running, he could see times coming after him "Dang it, why the bloody heck wont my bullets kill him?" He sighed and ran faster, up and down trees

 

Sapphire looked after him and sat down, looking at the sky. She smiled, she was still alive. She looked around

Times began to fly and began to pick up speed. He got close and used a tree branch to give him a sudden burst of speed and tackled Ember. Times threw him onto the ground and picked him up by his jacket. "Why won't you leave us alone!" Times pulled of Ember's bandanna and pulled down his hood. "You! If you want a buckin' flower so much there is a living flower patch 2 miles that way." Times said pointing to the east. Times put his saber to Ember's neck. "Now leave and I don't wont to see you again.... got it?"

Embers smacked times, then laughed "Oh my, thats not very nice" He chuckled as he kicked times of of him, before grabbing his stuff "Shadup, You dont know what this flower can do!" He laughed "All your going to use it for is to go give it to some mare" He looked at times

"What mare would I give it to? " Times said using is wings to get himself back onto his hooves. Times walked over it to Ember. "I just don't want you firing at my troops." Times said before pushing Ember into a tree. Times shealthed his saber and looked at Ember with a fiery in his eyes, but His helmet covered his eyes.

Embers chuckled "Oh, I think you know, the one I stoled the flower from" He chuckled "Anyways, You should be less caring, It would save you some pain" He laughed as he bolted away, running far enuff to get away from times

 

Sapphire started to close her eyes, but opend them as soon as she had started

Times shook his head and walked back to his team. When he returned one of the soldiers ran up to him and said "Did you catch him" Times looked at him. "... no he got away."  The soldier looked at him and said "What you never let them get away." Times looked away. "not this time." Times said before walking over to the cannon and sat down.

Sapphire looked over at times, he seemed abit down. She walked over to him and tilted her head, with a slight smile

 

Embers sighed, he still had to kill one of them ponys, but he could do it later. He set up his tent a little bit away from a river, and tossed his stuff as he grabbed his book

Times looked down and took off his helmet. Nopony has ever escaped him before, He should have slit that stallion's throat when he had the chance. Times looked up at Sapphire and tried to smile back but he couldn't. Times thought to himself and sighed.

Sapphire looked around before takeing a few steps back and sitting down.

 

Embers loaded his rifle, he had to find some way, thinking out side of the box, to get what he needed. He chuckled as he leaned back, looking at the sky turn orange around him, he was waiting..

Times looked at he and tried to fake a smile. He smiled at her before looking back to the ground. He looked up and and saw that the sun was setting. Times looked at one of the soldiers and stood up. He walked over to the soldier and said "We need to hide the cannon." The soldier and Times found a ditch full of tall grass. The push the cannon into it to keep it hidden. Times and removed some tents that they put on the cannon. Times and 2 of the soldiers set up the 3 tents. Times called all the soldiers to the middle. "2 of us are going to have to take the night shift. I will be one of them. anypony else?" Times said looking at everypony.

Sapphire looked up at times "I will sir, I can stay up for alittle longer" She smiled, she could read by the firelite during this time

 

Embers leaned down, looking at his book and chuckling, so i was time that had made his move. He looked at the flower and tilted his head, as if to ask it something

Times nodded and looked at Sapphire. "Ok so me and sapphire will take the night shift." 

 

2 hours later; Night has fallen

 

Times was sitting by the fire, using his flintlock to get the dents out of his helmet. He put his helmet back on and looked at Sapphire. He kept his flintlock in hoof. The others were sleeping and they were the only ones awake at 8 pm.

Sapphire smiled, not really looking at times. She was reading her book, and she was feeling really happy about something

 

Embers sighed and got up, he had to get some sleep, but first he hopped up onto the tree, he had to see something about that pony that was named times

Times put another log in to the fire. He looked up at the stars and looked at his flintlock. He put it away and yawned. He looked at the fire and took off his helmet. He looked at Sapphire and then back down at the fire. He scratched his head and began looking around.

Sapphire giggled as she read some of her past storys in this book, it seemed like she had been so silly when she was younger, but the war had changed that...

 

Embers hoped up onto a tree, were he could see the 2 sitting. He sat down and opend a note pad, making sure times did not see him

Times stood up and walked over to a small  pond. He grabbed a stick and made ripples in the pond. He looked at his reflection and sighed. He saw his friends in the reflection and looked away. He madde another ripple and closed his eyes. He was thinking about what he should do.

Sapphire looked up at times, he seemed to never talk unless he had to. She mumbled something and looked from her book to the pond

 

Embers cursed himself, he should have been here before. He looked down at them and hoped to another tree to get a better point of view

Times kept silent and looked at the pond. He continued thinking to himself and made ripples in the water. He sighed and thought of the past and the present. He looked at his reflection and it reminded himself of when he was younger. He made another ripple.

Sapphire looked around, wondering what to do. She had read through her book, and times just sat there, making the water tern. She sighed and got up

 

Embers loaded his rifle, he had no plan to kill them, but if worst came to worst, he had to be ready. He looked down

Times looked up from the pond and stared into the darkness, not speaking. Times lay'd down and looked up at the stars and the moon. He sighed and counted the falling stars as they flew by. He would make a wish every other star. He yawned once more and looked at one of the red stars.
