Sapphire slowly woke up. She yawned as she sat up and rubbed her eyes, looking out the windows and sighing, wondering what time it was. She knew she had most likely not slept for that long. She got up and grabbed her book, then walked outside with a scarf on

Times flew up to the cloud and read the letter. He read a small section of it out loud to himself "I would like you to report to the Everfree before returning to the Fillydelpia camp. I want you to leave tonight" Times put away the letter and flew down to quarters and walked in.

Sapphire looked around her, she looked up to see times fly off. She sighed and walked up to one of the walls before laying down. She opend her book and gazed down at the pages, before looking up and smiling as she saw the forest, she wanted to go out there 1 more time

Times put away his medical supplies and then looked at Crescent "You can still fly right?" Times said before Crescent nodded. "Well you may have to fly to the Celestial camp 3 miles that way." Times said as he looked back to his saddle bag and put on his helmet.

Sapphire slid down the wall, she used the back door she had found after following times. She smiled as she steped out into the darkness, away from the rest of her life. She felt free, like she could fly away. She looked at her book as she walked out into the forest, not knowing where she was going

Times put his flintlocks into their holsters and looked at Crescent. Crescent was trying to stand up but he just fell over. Time picked him up and pulled out an apple. He gave it to Crescent and Crescent took a bite. "Conserve your strength for the flight at midnight." Times said

 

 

Meanwhile in the forest....

 

A dark shadowy figure of a unicorn wandered through the forest, Until, It heard foot steps. It teleported to a branch above a path. It waited.... to catch it's prey. The creature liked it's lips and smiled.

Sapphire smiled as she walked deeper in the forest. She heard something around her move, she looked around and saw a bird fly from a few feet up. She sighed and kept walking, looking down at her book now and then to see how her notes were doing about this place

Times looked at Crescent and said "When your done... get some sleep" Crescent nodded and Times walked outside.

 

 

The Figure saw a Unicorn mare. It licked it's lips once more. It slowly crawled down the tree and into some shadows. It squinted its blood red eyes and waited.

Sapphire sat down. She smiled as she looked down at her book then started reading. She yawned and layed back. She smiled as she looked at the stars. She was happy that she had gotten her sword, just incase she had to fight with someone, or somepony. She smiled

The creature crawled closer to the unicorn. Ready to strike. Revealing its sharp teeth it pounced onto the unicorn and said in a dark female voice "Looks like I will eat well tonight...." The creature laughed and it's eyes began to glow red before It moved close to get ready to bite.

Sapphire had her sword up, stoping its hands from holding her down. She knew that if she moved at all, it would be able to get her. She glared at it "Oh, I like you, you look very scary" She said as she tryed to push it off. It was to much for her, and she yelled "times! i need help!"

Times heard some screaming coming from the forest. He ran over to Sapphire's Room and opened the door. It was empty. He flew up and went as fast as he can to where he heard the screaming.

 

 

"No one can help you now" The Creature said before sticking out it's long black tongue to try and get a taste. "You look like you would go great with some poisoness mushrooms and berries" It said.

 

Times landed in the forest and unsheathed his sword, Running to where the sound came from.

Sapphire kicked out at it "Oh? I always thought pony would go well with some beans, good thing I Have some in my room" She said as she lowly turned hear head and yelled "TIME! I NEED HELP" She was losing agesnt what ever this thing was, and she knew it just as well as it did

Times ran faster and then saw Sapphire. He pulled out his flintlock and aim "Wait what if I hit her" Times said to himself. He dropped his flintlock and ran at the creature with his sword. He grabbed it and through it off of Sapphire.

 

The Creature lifted it's paw and 5 claws came out. "I will gut you and eat you as desert" The creature said.

 

Times pulled Sapphire to her feet before turning around and slashing at the creature. "if you want to get her... you have to get through me" Times looked at the cat like figure and tried stabbing it.

 

The slashed at Times and scratched his helmet. "Why can't I ever get dinner that doesn't fight back" It said

Sapphire steped next to times "Dont worry, Im bloody good at sword fighting when im on my feet" She said as he glared at it "Anyways...THe reason why they always fight back is because most ponys dont like being eaten, at least, I know I dont like being eaten"

Times ran at the Creature and slashed at it. 

 

The creature was unaffected by the cut in it's leg. It just laughed and slashed at Times.

 

Times saw the cloth on his chest rip. He ended up getting thrown into a tree. Times stood and pulled out one of his flintlocks and pulled the trigger.

 

The Creature dodged the bullet and tackled him biting at his helmet to get it off.

 

Times used his front leg to hold the creature back and used his other to try and grab his sword.

Sapphire took a step back, looking for a time to jump in and help times. But they were to fast, all she could see was a blur. She sighed as she looked around, wondering if there was a way to fight back, something she could do to help times. She jumped in and slashed at it

The Creature laughed as it felt the pain of Sapphire's attack. It slashed at Time's neck and roared.

 

Times grabbed his blade and stabbed the creature. 

 

The creature looked at the sword in it's torso. It saw blood drip from the wounds before seeming to go poof into black smoke.

 

Times took a deep breath before getting up and looking at Sapphire "Are you crazy, What were you thinking going out into the forest at night!" Times yelled. "You could have gotten yourself killed!" He was furious. On the inside he was just happy she was safe.

Sapphire looked down at the ground, almost starting the cry. "I...I just thought...That I might be able to go back to when I was a filly, back to those good times" She then snaped, she fell to her feet and started sobbing "Im sorry...Im so so sorry times, This is my fault, if I hadnt been so stupid"

Times frowned and looked at her. He felt guilty and walked next to her. "I'm sorry its just, you could have gotten hurt, and I don't want that to happen. Don't cry, Just don't do it again okay." Times said taking off his helmet and sat down. Times wiped away some of her Tears and smiled at her.

Sapphire looked up at times "Oh..Thanks..." She sighed as she stood up, she slowly looked around before turning back to the fort "Sorry...Ill be more carfull next time, I wont let myself be jumped" She looked down at the ground before walking back over to the fort, to her room

Times flew back to the fort and sat on top of one of the buildings. He reloaded his flintlocks, and lay'd back. Tomorrow he will have to return to the everfree forest. To where this all began and possibly back to where his quest for revenge began.

Sapphire slowly walked back to her room. She still had a few tears falling down her face. She sighed as she looked up at the moon, through the window as she shut her door. She sat down on her bed, slowly falling asleep before she could read the last few pages of her book

Times drifted to sleep and rolled onto his side. He stretched and fell into a deep sleep. He rolled around and started to have nightmares of the creature from the forest. He woke up holding back a scream.
