Times looked at Atlas as he flew away, He looked back to Sapphire and pushed "So Sapphire, What's with the flower" Times went back to pushing with his back and made sure the black cape from his armor was away from the wheels. As he pushed his armor clanked and scraped against itslef.

Sapphire smiled "Oh...I just found it" She strand as she pulled,  and smiled as she pulled on it. She tilted her head as she went, thinking about when her mom was still there

 

Embers sighed and looked around him, not really knowing what to do. He grabbed his stuff and started walking

Times pushed and noticed they were almost back with the others. "Now the hard part is over." Times said as he switched back to pushing with his arms. "I haven't seen a flower that bright since... Me and my friends went our separate ways." Times remembered sitting down with his friends telling jokes, laughing, and telling stories. Him, Winter, and Shadow. After 2 years he still remembers their faces. Times sighed and continued pushing.

Sapphire smiled and she looked up at the flower "Yeah, I found it in the field" She pointed at the land were everything was burned and there were no trees "No idea how something this small lived..." She chucked "Guess there still ARE a few good things in this world" she said

Times smiled "yeah...." Times said, trying to stop thinking about his old friends. "Do you know what kind of flower that is." Times asked as he looked at it from the other side of the cannon. Times looked over to the field. "I remember that field, I used to play in it with my parents there."

Sapphire face turned abit sad "No...no idea" She said as she sighed and walked with him "I also remember this field...Before all of the fighting started, it had many flowers" She smiled, and looked at the field, trying to remember it how it was before all of the fighting started

Times looked back to the field, with a small smile under his helmet. He then looked forward and noticed they had made in back to the edge of camp out side the medical tent. "Finally, we made it" Times sat down and tried to catch his breath. Times just remembered he left the ammunition, and went to get it. He came back with the bag of Ammunition and set it on a barrel next to the cannon.

Sapphire sat down, looking over the field and smileing as she did. She could almost see all of the kids playing, then she looked back at it and it was a scared land, many of the once nice trees were gone, and she was lucky to find the 1 flower in all of this chaos...chaos she thought to her self

Times sat on a crate and looked around the camp. He looked down to Sapphire "So how did you even get pulled into this war" Times said taking off his helmet and looking out into the field. He thought to himself as he looked out to the field and remembered what it was like before the war. Where are you Winter, Where are you Shadow

“Well, I joined to help everyone, not much hero stuff there, just wanting to help” She smiled and leaning back, looking around and taking a book from her backpack, and laughing abit “Such a strange war, who would have thought that somepony comes back and takes over?”

"Weird thing is Winter thought something like this would happened, but I thought he was just being paranoid." Times said as he turned and twisted the helmet in his hooves. He looked at the crescent moon on the forehead. Times looked at his team and remembered the fort under siege. "Everypony sleep well, the sun rises in 7 hours and we need to leave to the fort first thing in the morning." Times said

"Watch yourself Zecora. I've lost many friends in this war and I don't want to loss more" Atlas walked from the hut/tree. What was he going to do? If he went back to Equestria he would be shot for desertion. If he stayed here he could get shot easy for having connections to Celestia's army. He could go to the Griffon Kingdom. His friends there could help him. No... He had to stay here. Time to see his family. 

 

Atlas came to a soft landing in front of his mother and father's home. As usual the key was under the door mat. 

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" He called as he entered. No response. "Hello?" Nothing. After a frantic search of the house it turned up nothing. He did notice however many things were missing. Mainly money and family heirlooms. Strange... He was still worried. Atlas left the house as fast as he could. 

 

A few minutes later...

 

"Uncle Fast Feather! You here!"

"Atlas? Is that you?"

"Uncle! I was worried you were gone too. Where's mom and dad?"

"They're safe. Some of your friends from the Griffon Kingdom dropped by. They smuggled your parents out of the country"

"Thank Celestia!"

"Boy? What are you doing with that gun?"

"I'm in the army. Was in the army"

"Whos army?"

"Celestia's. I'm AWOL"

"Why boy? Go fight the good fight! Personally I don't like these Lunar creeps all over town"

"I ran. They plan to attack a fort near the front"

"And what's the problem with that? Are you a desserter? Afraid to fight?"

"No. They planned to kill everypony in that fort noo matter what. I won't take part in that"

"Whose bloody side are you on then?!"

"I don't know yet... I'll be back soon. I've got to do something"

 

Atlas stood on a cloud over looking his former army's camp. He rifle was at the ready. Now he just waited. A pony who he once thought greatly of walked out of his tent for some fresh air. 

"Here's my letter of resignation, general" Mumbled Atlas. A shot rang out fast and true. The shot went clean through the general's head leaving a splat of blood and brain matter on the ground as he fell. Atlas flet no regreat. Anypony knowingly killing a hundred or so ponies enemy or not without moment of remorse deserves to die. Atlas took flight and fled just before soldier began to look for the origin of the shot.

The overlord had blacked out for a bit his mind lost to the warp this happened to him every now and then but never in battle he ran to catch up with times and sapphire and the cannon he ran to them and walked over to the cannon

 

"Uh sorry guys I blacked out for a bit back then it won't happen again"

Sapphire smiled as she wraped her self into a little ball, thinking about the flower, and what it ment to her.

 

Embers wondered into the field, yawning as he did. He smiled at the night, even though it was luna who  has started this war, and he who was dragged into it

"Don't worry, plenty of us have blacked out, really those moments when I black out are the only thing that keeps me sane. But like I said, Get a good sleep we leave for the Fort in 7 hours." Times said before he walked back to the medical tent, He walked in and put back on his black coat. He walked over to a dark blue stallion who had a bandage on his eye. The stallion looked at Times and said "Hey, Times hows it been." Times looked at him "Well I got a new team and the my first actual mission in the last four months.So how is it going for you Shard." The Stallion began to speak "Besides taking a piece of metal to the eye, pretty good." Times sat down and said "Shard, do miss Shadow and Winter." the Stallion spoke "Come on Timey, you still thinking about them, remember they are the enemy now." Times looked at him and said. "What did I say about calling my Timey."

The overlord shrugged and went over to the cannon to check it over

 

"Whatever you say captain"

 

He was looking at the cannon with utter distaste he then started speaking out loud to no one in particular

 

"Great Khorne the technology in this time is bloody appalling I've seen tribals with better cannons

Times finished talking with Shard and walked back out and heard what the overlord said. "Well the reason why we an't using a bigger cannon is because we want to destroy the Celestial army with out having to have a extra team help us shoot it. We have bigger cannons like a 60 pounder but a 12 pounder is going to have to do for now. Also anything over a 20 pounder can't use Canister shots or quicklime shots either. But don't underestimate this gun, it can sink a ironclad." Times said as he put his hoof on the barrel of the cannon.

The overlord sighed and looked down the barrel of the cannon

 

"I used to have a gun that could do shoot bigger rounds than this mockery of craftsmanship I might as well just throw the cannon balls my self I'd probably do more damage than this oversized bucket"

"I'm guessing you have never seen a 12 pounder in action have you?" Times said pulling out a canister shot out of the saddle bag and held the large steel cylinder in his hooves. He shook it next to his ear and heard the nails, bullets, and other small pieces of metal clank against the steel shell.

The overlord laughed at the canister shot that times was holding

 

"Yeah but I've seen fireball spells bigger than that round and I assure you it did a lot more damage than one of those does I might just have to go down there and help fend them off with my axe here and bluderbass and the demon horns on my helmet"

Times smirked. "one second" Times walked off and came back with 5 testing dummies. He put armor on one of them to represent a general. Times walked back to the cannon and put in the gun powder and Canister. He readied the shell and lit the fuse. "Fire!!!" The cannon fired, hundreds of small pieces of shrapnel shredded the dummies. the one with the armor's head was missing and had it's chest opened, the other four just looked like piles of stuffing. "You were saying."

The overlord stood up and grabbed 5 more training dummies stuck armor on them and set them he then walked away from them and took a deep breath

 

"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!"

 

He then charged at them axe and blunderbuss at the ready he fired his blunderbuss at three of them the shot spreading and shredding the outside two and demolishing the middle one he then chucked his axe into the head of one and it lodged its self deeply he then rammed the last one with his helmets horns and knocked it down he then Stamped on it head with his fore hoof and crushed it helmet as well he turned around to face times

 

"Less cowardly cheaper and a lot more fun"

"Well not if there is a ever growing army standing right in front of you. Also I would love to show you the quicklime shot but It doesn't burn the cloth, only flesh" Times said as he looked at the dummies. Times pulled out a quicklime shot and held it in his hoof. "This shot works magic on infantry, Its weird, I love to see an army fall to their knees as they burn away in a cloud of white smoke. The screams, the ponies crawling as the last thing the see is their own muscle and blood." Times snapped out of it "Man, now I see when ponies say war changes you." Times said as he put away the quicklime shot.

The overlord laughed and patted times on the back

 

"Yeah war does change you into a real man or in this realms case real stallion it takes people I mean ponies like us to get the job done cause if we didn't learn to enjoy war and all its glory then we wouldn't fight and then who would defend the women and children huh nopony that's who"

"I just hate the feeling I get when I start talking like that, It seems like every time I fall deeper and deeper into insanity." Times said looking at the overlord. Times started having memories of one of the battles that he fought that seemed to start the blood thirsty things that happened randomly when he speaks.
