This is my new art thread, and let's kick it off with my OC Night Fire.

(I repurposed this thread from just about my OC to a general art thread to prevent clogging up the entire art section.)

I added shading, a close up of the cutie mark, and an alternate head view. However, I got too lazy to color the alternate head view. I also changed the muzzle design a bit.

Edit: And then I realized that it's still a bit hard to tell what the mane style is up front. It's supposed to be messy bangs.

I did some practice on foal proportions. (I don't draw a lot of foals.) However, I also found that it's surprisingly hard to put glasses on a pony. Tips? Thoughts?

I don't know what program you're using. but if there's a feature called brush smoothing or something among those lines, go ahead and set it to max. Then again, I don't know if the wobbly lines were done intentionally but if not.. This'll help you out.

Keep it up!

I'm using SketchBook X on my iPod, it has no line smoothing. It's one of those free apps with only three layers and basic tools. And I forgot to mention something. When I decided to practice drawing foals, I chose to ponify the main character from "Detective Conan/Case Closed" for this.

And I decided to draw a second character from the same series. I tried a new angle and looked at some of my pony toys as reference, but it still feels awkward somehow. Also, that hair. You have no idea how hard it was to make that hair work without making her head look deformed. There's also some basic color info.

Finished version! I played with the lines a bit before coloring, and made the background stripes straighter this time. The neck feels a bit short, but I don't feel like redoing all the lines, coloring, and shading there to fix it.
