Missy was startled by the sound of the gunshot and she turned around, she saw the zombie's head exploding, some blood splashing onto her. She had seen her parents eaten by these things but she couldn't get used to the sight of dead ponies or blood, she pressed the switch she had found, hopefully it was a light switch.

the store exploded with lights as the master switch was pressed, any pony looking up at the ceiling was temporarily blinded, every ponies eyes were at least forced shut due to the sudden light, it would take at least a few seconds for their eyes to readjust

"Good, we know where the switch  is, so now we can turn them off come nightfall, which I'd wager won't be that far off." Missy said, really affected by what she saw. She hugs Flame's non-hurt leg. "Thanks everypony, thought I was done for there, but with you guys around, I'm safe, right?"

Lace, having heard enough of this expedition, would stand, heading toward the tent. She had to make sure there were enough rounds in her own weapon; when she heard the scream. One never saw a mare move so quickly, and on strong hooves. "Missy?!" she had gotten there in the after math, trotting over to envelope the young one in a hug. "Are you alright?! Oh, hearing you scream frightened me half to death!" a hoof stroked through the two toned mane, fear in bright pink eyes.

 

Sweets had decided to stay, thinking over this group's plan. "How are we going to know when you return? Surely there's a way for you all to let us know you're back." she interjected, or tried to, before getting up to the sounds of rifle shot and screaming. She cantered up to Frozen, placing a hoof on the pony's shoulder. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." Missy said, returning the hug. "Just a little bit shaken up, and the lights are back on, at least I did something to help. I'm so glad I'm with you guys, if I was alone, I would've gotten bitten for sure..." Missy said, Lace had only met her, but she was really concerned for her safety.

I give one final smash into the zombies face to collapse the skull. Making sure that it is dead.

"Everypony alright?"

I look at Missy especially. And i finally notice the some of her tail was chopped off from it biting her tail. I hold back on what i was going to say and instead look at broken who was putting his wings back the way before he stretched them them out for a fight. I soon notice i'm covered in blood. And i wreak of zombie.

"Eww.... that's gross... i need a bath..."

I make a bleh face after wiping the blood off my face with a part of me that isn't covered in it.

(Brain fart on how to spell that word... or if you want to, call it my dyslexic moment. Its rare for me to forget how to spell a word...)

 

(edited, so yeah. anyways. i was on my tablet. so sorry for the horrendous spelling there. by the way i am on my moms computer again so i can finally spell things correctly without hitting the wrong button.)

Broken scans the store for more corpses. His body is still producing the magical stimulants and suppressants it was modified to generate in stressful situations; in the small corner of his mind where his more passive side retreats to he begins modifying plans and priorities. The warpony over-mind can handle things for a bit longer.

 

Somewhere in this place is a vulnerability. The two mares that initially found this place and the two foals that will remain will have to search for and neutralize the issue. One of the groups that leaves should make an exploratory attempt at finding the external signs of the vulnerability. While Broken thinks, his body is still in motion.

 

Broken mechanically walks over to the filly and examines her for injury. He determines that she is unharmed and is crossed off the list of hostiles in his mind. He turns around and crosses the room to Frozen. The results of his visual assessment of her state leaves the warpony over-mind confused: pupils dilated, breathing elevated, eyes bloodshot, extreme fear response. A few seconds of deliberation later and the warpony dismisses the symptoms of damage as it is designed to do- no high-orbital pegasus would be inconvenienced by such paltry injuries. He turns his head slightly to assess the other warpony in the group- no injuries, relatively calm, slightly distracted. She is operating normally. The same holds for his observations of the other ponies.

 

The over-mind finally relinquishes its hold on Broken and the warpony mask smoothly retreats. Without skipping a beat at the familiar transition, Broken bows his head and spreads his wings again.

 

"That was superb marksmanship, exalted, and excellent judgement in a combat situation. Impressive. You would make a fine warpony."

I shake the extra blood off of my coat and armor.

 

"bleh..."

 

I look around assessing the area making sure everypony is alright, then i look at broken as he does the same. I walk over to him.

 

"lets check the area over again and make sure there is no holes in the walls, more likely around the outside, we'll see it better there"

Frozen stops breathing, the sight of Broken's wings close up terrifying her further. Oh Celestia, he knows I was aiming for him and now he's going to kill me! she thinks as she appears to calmly work the rifle's action, sliding the still-warm spent cartridge into her bag, "Th-thank you? I watch Broken come over to me and i nod to him.

 

"Lets go scout. I'll remain grounded with you so your not caught off guard, but first we should check the out side of the building for damage, that it letting zombies come in."

 

I walk towards the front entrance.

Thunder was pulling the cart, empty now, but hopefully soon to be filled.

 

"When will we reach the highschool?" He asked. He shifted his wings to be more comfertable. "What are we planningb on looking for?" He knew they needed his streangth, but why?

 

His hooves clipped and clopped on the broken pavment, and all was silent, save for the turning of the wheels. He thought of Dust. He wondered how she was doing.

Missy watched as the others left, the zombie must have gotten in somehow, but it was too dangerous for her to go wandering off again, because this time, it would probably bite her, so she simply stayed by Lace's side.

Broken follows to the front entrance and calls over his shoulder, "Little Flame, Missy, Lace and Sweets- if you could please discover the vulnerability from the inside of this building, it would be appreciated."

 

Broken readjusts his bag and addresses his companion, "After we find this vulnerability, you do not need to remain grounded if you do not wish it. I am quite familiar with the need to be closer to the sky, there is no need to deprive yourself on my account."

"its fine Broken, I would rather watch your back from down here than up there"

 

I say as we walk out of the store and start looking for a vulnerable spot on the outside of the store.

"If that is your wish," Broken tilts his head in her direction for a moment before they exit. He starts examining the wall and surrounding ground for the vulnerability. It occurs to him that they might not have the tools to fix whatever it is they find.

 

"We will need to to find supplies to fix this problem. Or perhaps... exalted Frozen can conjure some stone. I do not know the true extent of her abilities."

"Right, lets find it first then we will determine what we need to patch the hole"

 

I say walking flank to flank by Broken scanning for entryways that we did not find earlier, while also watching for any walkers or fliers in the area.

 

(we should have @@Skullbuster to determine where the hole is.... Oh wait we haven't explored the bathroom! we can totally have the hole at the bathroom)

Broken shuffles his wings a bit uncomfortably at how close is walking next to him. Just like with Flame a day earlier, he is not used to physical contact with his mare companion. It is disconcerting. His wings shuffle once more involuntarily and they brush up against her by mistake.

I look over at broken noticing that he is a little uncomfortable about the distance. I take a step over away to see if that helps him any as we look back over along the wall as we keep walking, going north (map wise) along the wall then turn to the east looking for a breach and watching for zombies.

 

(OOC: well he did brohoofed me when i posted about having a breach at the bathroom)

the two had reached the back of the building, there was hole, like if somepony blown it open, inside the hole was dark, the lights were destroyed, it led to the mares bathroom, a few zombies were inside, this was clear from the moaning and groaning sounds they made

Missy looked round to see her tail, it was a complete mess, there was a large portion of it that was chewed up by the zombie, she didn't want to make a fuss over it but it clearly affected her.

"So, what's our plan? I mean, we can't just sit here and wait for everypony else to get back, we have to do something." Missy said.

Broken considers the noises coming from the hole for a moment and murmurs to Fluttershy, "I would prefer to avoid charging into an area where we cannot see our enemies. Draw them out and deal with them silently? Better to not startle the ponies within with loud weapon's fire."

 

He is a bit more relaxed now that some distance is between him and his warpony companion. He can feel his body preparing for a fight.

"well there is the hole"

 

I nod as broken says that he would rather avoid charging and i agree.

 

"let me draw them out"

 

I say with confidence. First i check if there is any other zombies near by and i start to walk over staying 15 feet away from the hole so no zombies get the jump on me. Then I start making noise by stomping on the ground with the armored hooves and my bare hooves too.

 

"here they come"

 

I warn broken as they stumble out of the bathroom through the hole

"Er..." Broken is caught a bit off guard. He hadn't given them much thought at weapons. Weapon mounts he could understand, but aside from using them to protect Flame, an instinctual act, he hadn't considered it.

 

"Design specifications lacked that exact information... if I were forced to estimate... sharp enough? I decapitated a zombie earlier with them without too much of an issue though I had a different angle to work with and the wing was completely immobile."
