Aaron gave her a soft smile. "Well, worry not, beautiful. Because I don't want to lose you either." he began to think of what she meant. When it finally clicked in his brain. He gave her a soft smile and took her into a hug. He looked into her eyes. "Beautifl. Are you telling me you want to get married. It may be a bit soon, but if you want it, then I accept your proposal."

Kaz smiled, "Oh Aaron, you can be so slow and dense, of course I want to get married!" she says hugging him tightly. "I love you so much my love, you literally mean the world to me" she kisses him and takes him into their room. "I know it's so soon, but what if something happens to one of us during a mission? what if you or i die?"

"Thank you my love. That means a lot to me." Icarus says as he helps her up. as he does, his journal falls from it's pouch and flies open. The page, for the few seconds it is visible, says Violets name, thoughts of family, and the word "Wife" on it.

 

Icarus quickly picks it up and blushes.

 

"w-what did you see?"

Violet smiles and kisses, "the one thing I was hoping to see. Yes my love, I will be your wife" She says softly, taking his hoof in hers and kisses him again. "I love you, now come on, you wanted to get some training done, didn't you? And I can't wait to tell Kaz either, she'll be so happy!"

"As you mean the world to me, Beautiful." She was taking him into the room, still listening to every word. She mentioned if something happened to one of them during a mission. "Oh, well... I-I try not to think about losing you. But, losing me won't be a problem. This metal is a biomechanical mesh that regenerates. I can die, but only temporarily." He stopped them and he looked into her eyes. "The truth is, You're stuck with me. And I'm stuck with you. And if its you, then I see that as a blessing. And if you're suggesting what I think you're suggesting right about now, how about I carry you to our destination?" he gave her a loving smile.

Icarus freezes for a second at her words. He let them sink in. He now had a fiance. A future wife. A Mare to love for the rest of his life if things turned out.

 

"Thank you my dearest Violet. My most beautiful jewel. You are mine. And I am yours. I cant wait to be bonded to you for eternity" Icarus say as he hugs her super tight, and kisses her with a deep seeded passion. His tongue slid over her's as he kissed.

Kaz grinned and allowed herself to be picked up and carried by Aaron. Wrapping her arms around him for extra support. She leans up and kisses him, "For someone who has never felt or known love before, you sure know how to sweep a lady...sorry a mare off her feet." she chuckles a little, "I'm no lady, you should know that"

Violet returned the kiss with equal passion. then they continue on their way to the base, and soon reach their destination. "Well, we're here, if I'm not mistaken, Kaz would probably have taken Aaron to her room.." she ponders for a while, "Now which way was it. Oh yeah! this way!" she grabs Icarus' hoof and excitedly drags him to where Kaz's room is.

Aaron raised an Eyebrow as he brought her to the bedroom. "To me you are a lady. You are sweet, drop dead gorgeous, and someone I would love to listen to for hours." He sat her down as he took a seat next to her. "I know you don't think high of yourself. But I think you are the greatest mares I could possibly meet. And that is why I love you with all of my existence and want to be with you, for the rest of my life."

Icarus chuckled a little. 

 

"Well, OK I'll follow you. I just hope we don't interrupt anything" Icarus says as he follows her.

 

As they travled, Icarus sentient weapon, unknown to him or anyone, began to pulsate and hum. It knew something the others didn, something bad.

Kaz rested her head on Aaron's shoulder and sighed happily, she looks up and gazes into his eyes. She had a habit of doing that. She kisses him, "well.. now is better than never" she says, getting up to start getting undressed.

Just as Kaz was about to get undressed, Violet and Icarus reaches her room and knocks on the door.

"Who is it?" Kaz answers rather irritated

"K..Kaz, it's Vi.."

"Vi! Come in!"

 

Violet and Icarus walks in, "Kaz, I have the most wonderful news!"

"Oh, what is it?"

"Icarus pretty much proposed to me, granted, it was in a rather strange manner, but he proposed to me and I said yes!"

Kaz hugs her tightly, "That is wonderful, and Aaron and I are engaged too!"

the two mares jump around the room like excited little fillies.

Aaron saw her undress herself, starting with her armor. He would follow her lead as he began to strip as well. "Hey kaz. You locked the door right. Because, if we're doing what I think were doing, I don't want any spectators." he didn't want to imagine the general coming in on such a sensitive moment. It made him shiver at the thought.

 

Aaron heard a knock at the door as Kaz went to answer it. What followed was a series of squeels from Kaz and her friend Violet. Aaron got his pants back on and went to greet them.

Icarus lets the two girls have their fun and walks over to the other male. Though his face was hidden behind a mask, he was sure he seemed oddly amused.

 

"Forgive us if we interrupted anything. I see you are also engaged with a fine mare as well ?" Icarus asked.

Kaz grinned "Dear, Icarus just proposed to her. Isn't that wonderful?"

Violet was just about to say something, when there came another knock, this one sounded urgent and panicked.

"who is it?" Kaz calls out

"C..Captain, it's Daechiril. W...We're under attack!" Daechiril says through the door

"What!? By who? Not the Changelings again!?"

"N..no Captain, The Griffons. They've stormed the base and we have been given orders by the General to retreat!"

"BUCK! Vi, Icarus, grab whatever you can and meet me at the entrance to the forest. Aaron, you come with me to the General's office. NOW!" Kaz shouts as she quickly throws her armor back on.

AAron gave Icarus a nod, but heard Kaz;s orders. He gave her a nod and began to follow her through the halls, passing by various other guards ponies scrambling to get their stuff together. "So, why are we being attacked by eagle/lion hybrids exactly? I thought they only lived in myth." He also thought the same about Pegasus, but now he was engaged to one. Funny how life works.

Icarus pulled out the scythe. It unfolded into a terrifying weapon. It glew red and pulsated evilly. Looking at it simply instilled a feeling of dread. The blade shown like a surgical tool, ready to operate. 

 

"Violet, grab a knife from my pack and stay behind me until we can get you a better weapon" Icarus says/

"well to be honest, I do not know why they are attacking us. For centuries, the griffon and us pony folk have lived in peace with each other. So something big must have happened. That's why we're going to the General now." She says giving him a quick kiss, "Aaron, I want you to know, that if I die, I will die the happiest mare in the world, for I would have known true love" she says quietly as they reach the General's office.

Peace doesn't even bother to knock, she walks in with Aaron, "What the buck is going on General! Since when was Griffonia and Equestria at war with each other? And more importantly, are the Princesses safe?"

The General was pacing, "They are safe, I sent our best troops, save you two, to protect them. And as for your first question, I have no idea, that is what I have been trying to figure out. Your orders are to go the forest, scout for any spies and invaders, deal with them as yous see fit."

Peace salutes him "sir, yes sir" She takes Aaron's hand and they leave.

 

 

Violet timidly took a knife that looked like she could handle from Icarus' packs. "W..will this one do?" She asks, very scared. "Icarus, this...this is what I mean! I AM Cursed! Just look at the evidence, we get engaged and all of a sudden the griffons attack! If this isn't a curse, then what is it? Please, Icarus, answer me!" She cowers in the corner, but Icarus takes her hoof and then they run to the edge of the forest where Peace told them to meet her and Aaron. Icarus doesn't answer, "Icarus, please.. I..I'm scared." As they wait, tears start forming in her eyes as the thought "i'd be better off dead" enters into her mind and she hesitates to put the knife to either her throat or her heart. She just simply slumps to the ground and weeps.

Icarus leans down next to her and kisses her.

 

"It is not a curse. As long as we are together, we will be fine. Dont worry Violet. You aren't cursed. " He pulls her up, and takes hold of the knife.

 

"I am trusting you with this, don't do anything irrational, please. You mean the world to me. You mean more than life to me" He says to her.

Aaron and Kaz ran down the hallway, Aaron making sure that there wasn't anything following them. The enemy was attacking and he was ready for anything at the moments notice. Following close to Kaz. He was ready to protect her most of all. His love shall be safe.

Peace and Aaron reach the edge of the forest where Violet and Icarus were waiting for them. She sees tears running down Violet's face, "Icarus, what happened?" She asks, Icarus just looks sadly at the knife in Violet's hoof. "What! Oh no! Not Again! This is the whole 'curse' thing isn't it?" Icarus nods, "Damn! What have I told you Vi, you-are-not-cursed!"

 

Violet just breaks down in tears. Peace sighs and hugs her, "I'm sorry Vi, I truly am, but please. Aside from Aaron, y-you're my only true friend, if I lost you, I don't know what I'd do."

Violet looks up and hugs Peace back.

"There, there, come on now, there's a girl" She helps her up, "our orders are to go into the forest and scout for any spies and intruders, then deal with them as we see fit. Not that I don't think you can handle it Icarus, but I'm asking Aaron to lend a hoof with looking after Violet."

She turns to Aaron, "Is that alright sweetheart?"

Aaron gives a nod in agreement. "Of course, beautiful. Just tell me what to do and I shall do it." Aaron stood, waiting to be told his orders. KAz had told him to watch over Violet and that is what he will do. He stood next to Violet, posing as an unmovable force of nature.

Icarus pulled out his Scythe. The weapon dimmed itself and became silent as it adapted to the situation.

 

"I'll follow you Peace. Just so you know my weapon is sentient. It is alive, like me or you. So it will adapt to the situation as we go. Just try not to get near it in combat, it can have strange effects" Icarus says as he looks back to Violet.

 

"I will be back"

Kaz nodded to Aaron, "thanks darling, just protect her. Do what you can to make sure she stays safe." She gives him a quick peck on the cheek. "We'll be back handsome, just be safe. the Griffons are a sneaky, cocky race"

 

She then turns to Icarus, "I understand, I've come across similar weapons in my travels for my missions. Come on, we need to go now" She start leading the way through the forest, cutting through the thick brush and cures, "buck! Icarus, thank you for stopping Vi from doing something stupid. I'm sorry about her mood swings and her thoughts about being cursed, her life as been fraught with pain and horrible things."

"As has mine. Luckily she has not been through what I have been. Heh, things no one would ever believe. "He chuckles, "But that is besides the point. I love her, more than anything in this world, so I am more than glad to deal with them" He says as they continue through the forest.

Peace nods, "good, as I said before, aside from Aaron, she is my only true friend. I don't know what I'd do if I ever lose her" she says as she continues cutting through brush, "Celestia's mane! This brush is thicker than I remember. There must be magic at work here." she says in a worried tone. They soon reach a cave. "Damn, if only I had a light"

 

Vi looked at Aaron, "A-Aaron?" she says as he looks at her, she hugs him, "thank you" just as Aaron is about to say something, a griffon lands right in front of them. "Well, well, well. What do we have here? Fresh meat. And enough for two meals!" He says, licking his beak and brandishing a sword.

Icarus looked to her.

 

"My weapon can emit light. Not a lot, only enough for a few feet. Not to mention it is red, so it will stick out like a sore thumb. I dont think the scythe will let me do it, but I can make it, if you need too" Icarus says to Peace. Behind his mask, there was much at play in Icarus' mind.
