WHEN?! Show me

I demand to see your sources. Those planets are sterilized! Nothing can survive that. Exterminatus was created for the very reason of Orks and Tyranids.

One of the Tyranid Codices, page 26 - 27.

ON THE PHENOMENON OF IMMUNITY TO CERTAIN METHODS OF EXTERMINATUS

Reports have reached the Strategic Collective of a number of instances in which Tyranid bio-forms have, against all previous precedent, survived the Exterminatus of a world targeted by them. Such a claim, taken in isolation, would be rejected as preposterous by cynical Adepts, yet the evidence is plain, and in one case comes directly from Inquisitor Kryptman (see sub file TY/z23/K8836554). There are two reported methods by which Tyranid creatures have survived the destruction of a world. The first, which has been confirmed at Tethris and Caelus Delta and is suspected at Lamarno, is achieved by way of smaller bio-forms, such as Rippers, burrowing deep beneath a world's crust, there to enter a state of hibernation until such time as the presence of life upon the surface is detected. At Tethris, it was the actions of an Adeptus Mechanicus Explorator team that stirred the surviving creatures to action, triggering them to emerge from the desiccated ground and attack. It is not known how the survival of just one component in the hive fleet coud lead to the rise of a force sufficient to retake the world in question but, given past precedent, the Collective are not prepared to reject the notion that such a thing is possible.

The second observed manner in which Tyranid organisms have survived Exterminatius was reported to the Collective following a Deathwatch mission to the world of Ariadine V. Following Exterminatius by way of Damnatus-pattern, mass-yield cyclonic saturation, the surface of the world was reduced to drifting ash, the atmosphere entirely seared away. Yet, the pict-logs of the mission show what was first believed to be a natural rock feature rising out of the swirling dust storms. Closer inspection revealed the truth - the structure was in fact a member of the Carnifax genus, which had survived the cataclysmic effects of the cyclonic torpedo, and entered a state of dormancy within which it could mend the grievous wounds done to it. The moment the creature detected their presence and began to stir, the Killteam called down a melta torpedo strike from their cruiser in orbit. Though the beast was destroyed, Ariadne V is declared Perditia, for, if one such bio-form can survive, then how many more may go undetected?

These instances make it clear to the Collective that no consideration should be given to the re-colonization of any world touched by the hive fleets for, even should the ultimate sanction of Exterminatius be enacted, there is sufficient cause to doubt its total effectiveness. All such worlds are to be declared Perditia, on pain of death, to any other then those authorized by this Collective to set foot upon them.

According to fictional crossover battle rules, the place they're fighting in would allow the combatants to have access to all of their powers unless specified not to have it. Thus yes they do have the warp. Equestria stands little to no chance against the imperium as the only thing that can save them would have to be the same reason the Tau Empire survived, they're so weak and the imperium has much bigger threats to worry about that they ignore them. But since the imperium is bent on destroying Equestria apparently, a fleet from the imperial navy is more than enough to easily defeat Equestria and the FIM verse.

Ah but are they prepared for Discord? He is after all the embodiment of Chaos so he controls the warp, chaos demons, chaos space marines etc. He would not only confuse them but herald their destruction.

I think i just found out why the Imperium wants to destroy the Poniverse....we are a threat.

Well yes, if the Imperium's enemies were to unite, it would fall. Of course, one vs one, that's not a factor.

And I don't know if Discord COULD control Chaos. I don't think he is quite as stong as Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle or Slaanesh.

Discord is chaos. The definition of discord is, in a nutshell, chaos. He is the warp. He is the lord of Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle and Slaanesh.  we are all screwed.

Again, I'm not convinced. The nature of Chaos in 40k is different. I think the closest 40k analog to Discord would be a C'tan.

The Imperium is a weak old man, ready and waiting to be broken apart by his vengeful sons.

Completely throw out the idea of a battle in space and give the ponies a helpful ally (Yuri from C&C) and you will have yourself a semi-fair fight.

Seriously, The Imperium of Man wouldn't even bother touching down on the planet if they knew that colorful ponies inhabited it.

If only it was just colourful ponies. There are many creatures on in Equestria that are very deadly. Heres a list:

  • Dragons
  • Hydras
  • Sea-serpents
  • Chimeras
  • Minotaurs
  • Changelings
  • Sombra
  • Gryphons
  • And Discord the embodiment of chaos

Chaos never differs, just in the same way that all wars are the same. The method may differ, but the result is always the same. We are onto something here. This is getting deep.

Indeed. -_-

Plus MLP:FiM has a weapons the imperium dosn't:

  • Friendship
  • Love and Tolerance
  • Vinyls Bass Cannon
  • Discords Choc Grenades
  • Derpy Hooves

Not really. Discord has nothing to do with the Warp, whereas 40k Chaos pretty much is the Warp. Oh, he could probably get a following of Chaos-aligned mortals. But the greater part of Chaos would be beyond him.

Discord is nothing compared to the forces of the Daemon Prince(s).

Explain his godlike powers? He turned half of Equestria upside down! And what evidence is there to disprove that he is not one with the warp?

Either way the Imperium of man would fall to the Ponyverse, either by conversion through the magic of friendship, or conversion through Discord. THAT was my original point. After all the Imperium has no allies, it is even being attacked from within. All the Imperium needs is a true true friend.

Well, no signs of Warp corruption is a good one. Plus, he hasn't really done anything a C'tan could not do, and they don't use the Warp.

Maybe, but you get the point of my original comment. The ponyverse is second to none.

I think the Imperium is too far gone for the magic of friendship to work.

We need to find a way of settling this. Hmm...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................I got it!

The Imperium and the Ponyverse would probably end up mutually annihilating each other!

Or they could just both surrender to the forces of Chaos and call it a day.

This has been one intense debate, with a sprinkling of Royces insanity. I hereby declare that no-pony will ever know if the Imperium of Man will beat the Ponyverse.

I doubt it.

However, there is one way they could win.  It may be possible for them to unite the Necron Dynasties. Do that, and they will win.

Have they not already? I thought Discord, Sombra and Chrysi had Equestria already, why do you think we don't see Celestia anymore?

I doubt it.

Do that and all universes are screwed.
