SaburoDaimando 1,196 March 15, 2014 Share March 15, 2014 During the 80s, Hasbro had two shows for girls. The first is My Little Pony and Friends(Which featured Glo friends, Potato Head Kids and Moondreams). The other was a pop song-based show called "Jem and the Holograms." The series focused around Jem's real identity "Jerrica Benton." After her father died, Jerrica was given Starlight Music(A record label), Starlight Foundation(A charity group) and Starlight House. But she later discovered that her father completed a computer named Synergy that allowed Jerrica to create holograms. Using the Synergy computer and a pair of Hologram earrings, Jerrica takes on the form of her alter ego "Jem" as well as the rest of the Holograms (Kimber, Aja and Shana, with Raya joining in later on). They have a rival group called the Misfits, a group of bad girls with really negative songs consisted of Pizzazz, Roxy and Stormer with them getting a 4th member named Jetta. They were headed by the former partern of Jerrica's father named Eric Raymond, who himself is a corrupt corporate executive. The 3rd season was given a new rival group called the Stingers, lead by Riot(The only male member of the team), Rapture and Minx. Despite the toys not doing as well as Barbie, Jem and the Holograms was popular enough to go the entire 65 episodes before being put in syndication. Now with the popularity of My Little Pony(And its spin-off subseries Equestria Girls), why not resurrect "Jem and the Holograms" franchise as a spin-off of Equestria Girls? Use a new take on the music that made the series great and introduce a new set of fans to Equestria Girls: Jem and the Holograms? What do you all think?

Fhaolan 4,484 March 15, 2014 Share March 15, 2014 They'd have to do a lot of re-imagining, as that series was so very 80's that it's going to be hard to take it 'as is' now.
SilverStarApple 849 March 15, 2014 Share March 15, 2014 I hope they do bring this show back, and give it some new episodes. They might be able to keep the 80s theme, it'd still be cool if they did. I just hope the modernization doesn't involve too much twerking from the villains. I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was akin to a slow death. Scootalove 10,689 March 19, 2014 Share March 19, 2014 They would have to know how to adapt from that time to now, to make it dedicated to the source material. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
applejock 358 March 19, 2014 Share March 19, 2014 Not to quote one of Blizzards horrible games....but.. It's about damn time!! Bring the 80s back! Give it to me by spoonfuls the size of car tires! Give me the heart and soul and just sheer bliss of kindness and gentleness we found in those cartoons! Give me something that isnt a damn refernce to the internet, or gaming. Let me savior a character for something as simple as HELPING SOMEONE else, and not poo-poo them for being "out of character". A time before youtubes venomess taint of everything good in its "reviewers" who are so far lost in there own want for "likes" and free interwebs money they only hurt what they supposedly love. Give me Rainbow Rocks! Give it to me in every single format! From blu-ray to 3ds download! I want to see cosplayers at Bronycon this year with a Trio of Diamonds painted on there faces, to hear this muscials songs blare just as loud as i used to rock out to the Lion King soundtrack of Alvin and the Chipmunks! BRING IT ON!! Jem is back and she is packing Hooves ladies and gentlemen! p.s. The only Spacemarine that matters belongs to Games workshop... ---> Here be Fabulous Mare! <--- There be Brony! ***Fear the Hater, for they are out to taint your Perfection. Buck the Troll, for he would seek to stop the Fabulous flavor. For you are Brony, coated in Pearl, maned in fine Mulberry, eyes of the sky, and flanks of Diamonds. Your life is for the Lady, all hail the Queen, for Rarity, your life, for her.*** -Applejock
Flash Fire 386 March 19, 2014 Share March 19, 2014 Doesn't Rainbow Rocks look enough like Gem already? My oc - http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/flash-fire-r5698 "Take my love. Take my land. Take me where I cannot stand. I don't care. I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me. Take me out, to the black. Tell my ma I ain't coming back. Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me."
deadprofile 1,122 March 19, 2014 Share March 19, 2014 I doubt they will Reboot the series since it's about as 80's as can be and kids these days just don't see much appeal in that (statistically speaking). BUT, reruns are airing on the HUB in the early hours.... I think they are mixing elements of Jem into Rainbow Rocks, as if to pay homage to the series as well as give Equestria Girls are better leg to stand on. EQD is challenging Monster High (Mattel) and long standing Barbie (among numerous other strange girl doll toys). If they were to reboot Jem and it was to become successful, then it would rival one of their own franchises (EQD) and that isn't smart business sense. It's best to combine the good of the old with what is hip and new...then ring in the $$$ "In fire iron is born, by fire it is tamed"
