Special Days in Equestria

Hello everypony. As you all know, first 2 episodes of Season 1 were happening during the Summer Sun Celebration and first 2 episodes of Season 4 were happening during the Summer Sun Celebration too. So we can say that a year passed between Season 1 and 3 and we saw lots of special day in Equestria, like Grand Galloping Gala, Winter Wrap Up, Running of the Leaves, Hearts And Hooves Day, apple cider day etc...

But, we didn't see anything related to them in Season 4, in fact, the only little reference we had was Rainbow Dash's cider love in Bats!, and it was a very little reference.

So what do you think bronies? Should there be some episodes about those days, or would it be just repeating the same thing that they've done? Or should there be some episodes where we saw a new special day?

They contribute to the lore (yay worldbuilding!) so .. yeah I'd like to see a few more used as part of the setup for a story. Why not?

 

Also idk if you count the Equestria Games as a special day but if you do, we do have that in Season 4.

I don't know what else they can ponify while appealing to people internationally, but I wouldn't mind it at all if they can pull it off. Hmmm...maybe they can do a New Year's episode? Bonus points if it's a proper (no stereotyping) homage to Chinese culture. It is the year of the horse, after all.

Well, there's Labor Day, St. Patty's Day, Thanksgiving, and I'd like a parody of the Macy Parade

I would like to see more holiday's looked at. Like Heart's warming eve. Besides the play they have, what else do they do on this day? Is it like Christmas? Do they give presents to one another, sing other songs, have big dinners with family, or anything else like that?

 

As for this Summer wrap up, I don't really see the point in doing that. To me it would just feel like winter wrap all over again, but much easier. You just have send the birds away, get the animals in there homes, and finally make the pegasus make it snow everywhere. I just don't see it being that hard or interesting of an episode.

There probably will be new holidays explored. The target demographic is at the stage of their lives where all the myriad holidays of the year mean something to them, they're fun and they get to either do different things in school or just not go to school all together. I can imagine Equestria having more parallels to real world holidays that kids like, like St. Patty's day, the Fourth of July (the Summer Sun celebration isn't enough of a parallel to the 4th for it to count, I feel), and so on.

 

And of course, already explored holidays still have potential.

I believe in solidifying your worldbuilding before you come up with more of it. For example: I want to know more about the running of the leaves. Does it happen all over Equestria? Do ponies have to bring down all the leaves?

 

So I voted that I want more episodes about these special days.
