"Ooh ouch. You got in the jaw? By who?" Dart asked as he cringed. He sat back down on his bed but then immediately got back up. "Look at the time. I'd say we head for breakfast. Don't you?" Dart again asked him a question.

 

"Genesis. Minx's roommate. She's a surprisingly good fighter for her size. Very spry and agile." Alphonse replied. "I may as well get something to eat. Maybe get an ice pack for my jaw, it's still sore." He said, getting up and putting on a fresh set of clothes. "Let's go." He said, heading out the door.

"Youch. You know what else you need? Painkillers. They're good for about anything." Dart told him. He followed Alphonse to the cafeteria and got himself a bowlful of hot chocolate. He wasn't really that hungry. "You choose where to sit. Anyway, who's Minx?" Dart asked him.

"Nah, I'm fine, an ice pack will be enough." Alphonse replied. "But Minx is a girl with Multiple Personality Disorder. I thought you knew her, or else I wouldn't have brought her up, but she apparently has some heart issues as well, which caused her a visit to the ER already." He grabbed a baggie and some ice from the drink trough, with some orange juice and a couple breakfast sausages. He paid for the juice and sausages and headed to the nearest open table and sat down with Dart. "So... Tell me again, why did you wake me up with a glass of water to the face?"

Dart drank some of his hot chocolate. "Minx is a girl with a defect. That's fine." Dart said to himself in English. "That's bad, if she was sent to the ER room already. Anyway, I woke you up with a glass of water to the face because i thought it was funny. And seeing splutter for a few brief seconds was worth it." Dart smiled wryly and asked Alphonse a question. "What happened yesterday? With the factory and that? We were not meant to go back in time, it's just not physically possible."

Hellinx snapped her fingers in front of Genesis's face. "Helloo. Earth to Genesis ,,, I asked you a question. Who is that boy next to Katie?" Hellinx repeated her question and again pointed to the boy sitting next to Katie.

""Uh oh what?" Genesis blinked and looked at Hellinx, following her gesture to Ben. She had been lost in a daydream about something. "That bloke? He must be fresh off the boat, don't recognize the mug." she took a gulp of her coffee. She looked over at their table while drinking "Most know Rush and then there's Giraffe..." she paused to correct herself "Whisper.And the other...I think her name might be Katie something, at least that's what my sources say."

 

Genesis placed her cup down and looked at her bandaged hand. She had a feeling it was broken and not just sore, she shrugged and pushed her hand back into the ice. Leaning back slightly she observed "Over there is Muscles sitting with that bloke that was piss drunk at the factory."

Hellinx nodded. "Thanks for filling me in." She said. "So there's Muslces, Giraffe, Newbie, Rush, Katie and Drunk. Not a bad group of friends we have." Hellinx smiled and crossed her arms. "I've got a suggestion. Why don't we ditch class for today and head over to the factory? It would be interesting to see what you look like on Lyoko." Hellinx suggested.

"Look like...? You mean we change outfits?" she made a face. Lyoko was just getting weirder and weirder.

 

"I'm terrible with names, my love. Once I name you that's it!" she threw her hands in the air. Genesis immediately regretted her decision and cradled her hand hissing "Will this pain in my arse stay with me if I go?"

"Well please don't do it again, thank you." Alphonse said. "But with the factory, there's some kind of a computer AI that is inside the supercomputer trying to get out and destroy humanity or something for whatever reason, so myself and a few other kids here, Minx is one of them. Her personalities actually become personified once she virtualizes. I become a fat panda-like thing with a two-section staff and a keg of ale that I can use to harm any of the monsters in there, either via the paint-thinner like alcohol content, or by just slamming them with the weight of it. Also I get pretty much immune to intoxication, and the more I drink out of my keg, the stronger I get. As for the time travel, your guess is as good as mine as to how it works, but it does and it's saved some lives already, so I can't say no to it."

Hellinx nodded. "Yup. We change outfits and get powers. Let's take me for example. Minx has a close-fitting red tank top with tights and runners. As for powers, this is where it gets weird. Minx has electricity," She demonstrated by sending a sparks flying in no apparent direction. "Both in the real world and on Lyoko. She also has two katanas for conducting the electricity. Angelinx has teleportation and can get premonitions. Devilinx has concussion blasts she fires from whatever her fists make contact with. As for me, I have no idea what powers I have. As for your hand ... yeah, the pain goes away when we get virtualised into Lyoko." Hellinx finished up and got up from the table. "We going to the factory or going to classes?" She asked Genesis.

Dart looked at Alphonse for a moment. "So what you're telling me is that it's like a video game? Except we play for real and when we die we don't come back?" Dart asked. To him, Lyoko sounded scary and he didn't want to be a part of it any more than he is already.

"You are like a Swiss army knife huh" she said as she watched the sparks fly. Genesis got up, threw the bucket somewhere towards the back of the cafeteria and fixed her jacket "Do I wanna go? She's asking if I wanna go..." she mumbled to herself while heading out towards the factory. She stopped momentarily to light a cigarette and to walk on.

"Guess you could say that." Hellinx shrugged and followed Genesis. She placed her hands in the pockets of her denim jacket. "Factory it is then. I've just realised something. This is the longest a personality other than Minx has been in control. She must have a LOT of anger in her then." Hellinx stated.

"Not quite. When you 'die' after getting hit by enough lasers fired from the monsters in Lyoko, you apparently return to the scanners safe and sound, if a bit tuckered out." Alphonse explained. "At least that's what Jeremie said, so far I haven't been devirtualized yet, so I couldn't tell you. All I do know is that you don't want to fall off the edge there, or else you'll fall in to the digital sea where you get trapped in the vast reaches of the internet. And despite the fact that there must be so much porn there you could enjoy, you can't move and enjoy it. Allegedly. I'm not willing to jump in and find out."

Dart shook his head at Alphonse. "That sounds great and all but I don't think it's for me. I'll still accompany you and try to help out here in the real world but I don't think I'll be able to go to Lyoko." Dart said adamantly. He'll still help, just not on Lyoko. He finished the rest of his hot chocolate and put the stuff away. He went back to Alphonse and sat down. "Seems like Genesis and that purple-haired girl left." Dart noted.

Someone stepped onto the Kadic grounds.

 

This person was teenager about the age of 16 or 17 with a blue hoodie and blue jeans. He had long dark blonde hair and a voice that almost sounded like it kept breaking. He had his hood up as if he was trying to find something and he was looking around as if he was looking for something or someone

'Why does she keep saying 'my love'? Nevermind. It's probably nothing.' Hellinx thought to herself and then she pulled the manhole to the side and climbed down the ladder before answering. "Why is Minx angry? I don't know. Probably because of the heart attack and me coming to the fore. Before Lyoko the only problem that she's had has been dealing with Devilinx and Angelinx." Hellinx answered.

Katie finished eating and stood from the table, smiling at her friends and taking her plate to the dirty dishes window. After, she decided to clear her head and take a walk, but she bumped into someone as  she stepped outside, "Oh, um sorry." She gave a sheepish smile at the boy in the hoodie, "I'm Katie what's your name?" @,

 

 

Ben frowned when Katie wondered off, maybe he would have followed, but he knew enough about her to know when to leave her alone. Now he was worried, whenever he was alone with her friends, they would always question him, who was he, where was h from, was he the one who aadently set fire to the school bus? Whisper now blossomed with freedom. Now that Katie had gone, she could shoot off her questions.

Ben sighed, "seventeen, 11th grade, and the only reason I'm this far is because I figured out ways to cheat on tests. And Katie's a good tutor. Yes, we're from the same town. She was born in Seattle, raised in Bremerton, I was born in New York, raised in Bremerton, but no body knows where Bremerton is, so I just say Seattle. Anything else?" "The only reason why we're walking through the sewers is because it's a shortcut to the factory." Hellinx told her. If there was any other than she would rather go that way but for now, the sewers would have to do. "You coming?" Hellinx called out to her friend. Leaning against the wall near the ladder, Hellinx began to play with a ball of electricity, just lobbing it up and down and trying to keep from grinning sadistically.

She thought hard for a good long while until "What is the U.S. like?"

 

  Whisper was tinged with worry that she might have upset Katie, or one of them did or all of them did. So, in her fashion, she asked Ben " Is Katie angry at us? Did we say something wrong?"

Halfway down the ladder genesis let go and landed on the heels of her boots, she bopped back up and in an effort to kill some smell; lit another cigarette. "Ugh, I'm more used to the front door than this mess. Not only do you have to save the bloody world but you literally have to walk through shit first!". She strode down the length of tunnel with Hellinx at her side.

"Yeah, that;s the hard part. If there was another way, we could go through that way but for now the sewers would have to do." Hellinx shrugged and smiled. She snuffed out the ball of electricity and saw that they were almost at the ladder for the factory. "You like smoking. Ever heard of lung cancer?" Hellinx asked with a sadistic smile. She didn't care if Genesis got lung cancer, she only cares about if she knew the risks.

"The US is...I think the best word would be divided. If you're in Texas it's gonna be really different from your experience in Washington. In Washington it's...normally cool weather wise, but occasionally it freaks out. One day it rained, hailed, and snowed in the afternoon, and was extremely sunny and warm in the morning. The people are nice enough if not a little hippie-ish, it really just depends on where you are in Washington. Like on the other side of the mountains, it's hot, desert, and full of small town religion pushers. Safe to say, West side, way better. On the west side there's rain, ocean, and a Starbucks on every block." He could feel a coffee-is-the-best-thing-ever speech coming on, and he changed the subject. "And Katie, nah don't worry about her, she wonders off sometimes, usually when her thoughts get the better of her. She might be somewhat mad at me for bossing her around, but she'll get over it. I swear that girl won't do anything people say." He chugged the last of the frozen milk, content to answer questions that didn't involve accidental arson. New people, new start. He only wondered if Whispers comment earlier would come up again.

 

 

Whisper sat and stared at Katie for a while and then over to Ben and back to Katie. Something clicked in her mind and she broke out into a broad smile, leaning over to Katie she whispered " Even though I can't understand a word you say, I still understand."
