Katie shrugged, seemed easy enough. She did as she was instructed, panicking slightly as she inexplicably floated up to the top of the tower. When she landed she walked over to a control pad, it had the word 'Code' on it, she typed in the code, 'L-Y-O-K-O' And it blinked signifying the tower was deactivated, "An RTP would be great now!" She said to Jeremy. @,

Jeremy typed in the code and as she was about to push 'enter', he noticed the tornadoes about to rip the school apart. He hit it and saw the tornadoes stop in their tracks befire a white light engulfed them. "Return to the Past now." Jeremuy muttered before the light engulfed him as well.

 

Minx looked around at where she was and realised that her and her friends were al at the party Katie and Jeremy had planned. She was holding an unfinished can of soda and was slightly disoriented.

Genesis slowly sipped the can of soda and crushed it, chucking it into the trash. Thinking about the fight, she got a craving for a cigarette. "Hm, Princess." she said pointing to Whisper "Come take a fresh breath of air outside with me." Surprisingly, Whisper conceded and followed Genesis out through the hatch. Outside, she leaned against the side of the building and lit up, puffing a moment before squinting over at Whisper.

 

"I used to be like you. You know. Wearing my bloody heart on my sleeve. Does no good, it only serves hurting you." she stated. Whisper shifted uneasily "What did you do? I mean to be...tough I guess."

 

"I don't exactly think you'll want my way...it's fun but dangerous" she sighed " It's lonely as all hell but not too bad."

 

"So if you're lonely...why don't you just?" Whisper began.

 

"Just what? Love someone?" Genesis snorted. "Loving someone is way worse then being alone. One day they'll stop loving you and leave, at least you can't leave yourself. Anyway, my advice: Move on, it's nothing but If you don't like it do something about it."

All of a sudden Rush was back at the party, after having, much to his own embarrassment, done exactly nothing to help deactivate the tower. More importantly, he still felt like he had to do something about Whisper. Seeing Devilinx kiss him hurt, he knew it must have, and he couldn't bear to see her in pain. She seemed to have stepped out, though, so he'd have to wait for a chance to talk to her.

Minx closed her eyes and remembered what her personalities had done. She opened her eyes and looked over to Rush but couldn't bring herself to say anything. Minx wanted to say sorry to him but she knew it wouldn't cut it, so she did the next best thing. Still holding the can of soda, she went to a wall and slid out of sight behind a table. There, she placed the soda can next to her on the floor and just looked vacantly at the tablecloth in front of her.

Katie was hyped, FINALLY she had done something right. Nobody came to congratulate her and tell her how awesome she was. But her own pride was congratulatory enough not only had she kissed a giant monster and managed to kill one and a half, but she deactivated a tower as well. She decided to seek out Minx and tell her how epic her electric kill was and after some looking she found her behind a table. Katie grabbed a soda and slid behind the table with Minx. "Kudos on killing that monster!" Told Minx, wrapping her friend in a quick hug. "The thing never saw it coming!" @,

Minx gave Katie a soft smile. "Thanks. You did good on deactivating the tower in time." Minx told her. She continued to stare at the tablecloth blankly and think about what she? did during the tournament. She had her arms wrapped around her legs and her head lowered so that she can barely see the tablecloth.

Katie found herself leaning against the wall, once again worried for her friend. "So," She said with a small smile, "Why are ya hiding back here all alone? There's a whole party to explore!" She smiled and took a sip or two of her soda, waiting gently for a response from Minx. @,

Minx smiled, although it was hidden by her arms. "I know there's a whole party to explore. I'm just sitting here because of Rush." She took a breath and continued on, slowly getting more teary-eyed as she talked. "I don't know why Devilinx did that. I, she?, I? I could have stopped their relationship and it's all my fault." Minx sobbed.

"Minx, listen." She put a gentle arm around Minx's shoulder, hoping she wasn't invading the girls space, "High school drama never lasts, I think they get that Develinx didn't mean it. They also get that you're not Develinx. I really doubt that either Rush or Whisper is mad at you.  Maybe slightly annoyed, but not mad. Besides, I don't even see what reason the two would have to break up." She shrugged and sipped a bit on her soda, pulling her arm away. "By the way," She said cheerily, "I really want to do a rematch with you on the video game thing. I can totally win when Ben isn't cheating."@,

Minx took a sip from her soda. She still had tears in her eyes but at least she had sort of stopped crying. "You think so? You think they won't be mad at me?" Minx asked quietly. She moved herself closer to Katie and leaned her head aginst Katie's shoulder, hoping that she wasn't making Katie uncomfortable. "I hope you're right about Rush and Whisper. I'm sure I can beat you at a video game without Ben watching."

Katie was pleased, another friend saved from the downward spirals of a nervous breakdown. She didn't mind Minx crying on her shoulder, it was what friends were for, right? She gave a devilish grin, "No way! I could totally beat you or Angel at any video game. I was going easy first time around." She said with a hearty laugh, quite enjoying her friends company. In fact, it occurred to her that Minx was the only person besides Ben who she could be this close to. She didn't know why, there was just something endearing about the girl. Maybe it was all the time she spent worrying over her for all the bad things that had happened. Maybe it was the fact that Minx had calmed her down when she needed on more than one occasion, and Katie had returned the favor as well. Just sitting here with the girl was nice. She couldn't explain it. "Ya wanna play a rematch? Ben can loan us his X-box and TV and we can play all night." @,

Minx smiled at that and gave a small giggle. "That sounds nice. If he does loan us his Xbox and TV then where are we going to play it?" Minx asked worriedly. She was glad that Katie hadn't told her to move her head away. For some strange reason, she felt a connectkon with Katie, well, more of a connection than she has with Genesis or Whisper. It was something she couldn't quite put her finger on. "You absolutely sure you can beat the Mistress of Halo?" It was something her late brother had called her.

"Absolutely." Katie said firmly, half bluffing, "I could totally beat you." She took a swig of her soda and giggled a bit, leaning slightly on Minx's shoulder, "If you would accept it," she declared, "I challenge you to a video game off." She gave a grin and crossed her arms, looking at Minx. @,

Minx smiled cheerfully. "Great! Of course I'll accept a game-off. I used to do game-offs with my little brother all the time before he passed away." Minx smiled some more and then realised what she said. "That wasn't meant to come out." Minx said sadly and closed her eyes. She didn't mean to say anything about her brother, it just sort of ... slipped out.

Katie frowned at this and looked at Minx, deciding her friend needed a hug and wrapping her in one. "That's cool." She said, squeezing Minx's hand reassuringly, if she wanted to talk about it, than Katie would listen. But she wouldn't push for answers. She knew how it felt to loose someone, and she knew that talking about loss was never fun. "If ya wanna talk about it I'm here." The words came off extremely awkward. "But,um, game off. Halo and stuff," She pulled away still holding Minx's hand "I think Ben has popcorn and stuff in his mini fridge, we can swipe that and snack all night too. It'll be fun." @,

Both of them decided to leave and each go their own separate ways. Well Genesis went back to steal some pizza, gagging at the cutesy display of friendship. "Maybe you two should be roommates. Keep each other toasty on those cold nights." Genesis said in between bites.

Minx raised her head and looked at Genesis, red-eyed. She stuck her tongue out and leant her head against the wall. She was glad that Katie was holding her hand.

"Don't worry. We'll talk about it later." Minx choked out. She closed her eyes tightly to stop any tears from coming out.

"Well alright." she dusted her hands off. "I'll leave you and your girlfriend alone. Thanks for the food, mishaps and wonderful sense of clarity!" Genesis gave a small smile.

"And you should start skedaddling and let everyone cool off; for your own sake mate." she pointed at Rush.

 

Then she left, throwing a peace sign at Jeremy before leaving up her hatch. She was pissed.

Katie watched Genesis leave quizzically, not sure what to make of that comment. Was she implying that...Katie blushed deeply and giggled nervously at Minx, standing up and stretching, her cheeks on fire. "Uh, well, okay, I'm gonna go get some cake and stuff. I'm kind of hungry and stuff." She dove for the cake and went to strike up a conversation with Whisper, her mind racing at a thousand miles an hour. "So, whisper, how have you been?" She asked awkwardly. @@RunsWithSquirlz,@,

Minx heard the comment. Her eyes opened in surprise and she saw Genesis leave through the hatch. Was she saying that her and Katie ... she shook her head and stood up, blushing madly. She grabbed her finished soda and threw it in the trash can. She walked up to Rush and cleared her throat. "Uum, sorry for what Devilinx did. I'm sure she didn't mean it." Minx apologised. @@Alex Kennedy

Rush looked at Minx and sighed. "It's not your fault. And honestly, if I weren't already in a relationship, I probably would have enjoyed it quite a bit. Anyway, I should go. As much as I hate to admit it, Genesis was probably right. I'll be in my room if you guys need me for anything."

Minx smiled at that. "Okay, thanks for understanding." Minx said to him. She gave him a quick hug and walked away to grab a slice of pizza. While Minx looked around the room, her mind was whirling about what Genesis said about her and Katie. Surely she didn't mean it. Although the way they were interacting with each other could have come off like that.

 

Jersmy waved to Genesis when she left and was content to just walk around the room.

Whisper only came back to grab her messenger bag when Katie stopped her "I'm...you didn't...nevermind." Whisper shouldered her bag and left, thanking Jeremy on the way out quietly. She took Genesis' way out since it was easier for her to go into town that way.

Jeremy waved back at Whisper and looked around at the others. He sighed and began to slowly clean up. "Both of you may as well go as well. Unless you want to help clean up then by all means, stay." Jeremy said to Minx and Katie, noticing that Rush was already heading out the door.

 

Minx looked at Jeremy. "I'll stay and help clean up." Minx offered and began helping Jeremy clean up.
