Katie felt on the verge of crying, but she held it in. She moseyed up the stairs with the group of evacuated kids, yawning and tipsy. She didn't really want to inquire about her dorm, she'd find it in the morning. Instead she climbed to the library sat in a big cushy chair and read a copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. She read until she passed out.

Whisper sighed with great relief and happily took the cookie offered by Minx. She was tired, so tired. Rush had come over to meet them and she was glad to see he was okay, Katie had reassured her it was not XANA again. Whisper never had alcohol before but hell, she just went into a virtual world and fought some monsters. She took the offered cup and drank it down, pulling back and coughing from the strength.

 

When Minx went into cardiac arresst, Whisper was too out of it to actually help. She had to quickly sit in a chair before she hurled.

The ambulance screeched to a halt in front of the hospital. Minx was pulled out and carefully placed onto a gurney. She was then rushed into the emergency room and was given life-threatening priority. The doctors tried to successfully keep her heart beating as they raced to the operating room. There, her heart had given out completely and the doctors raced to get it back in working condition.

 

They got a defibrillator and one of the doctors rubbed the paddles together. One of the nurses had ripped her dress open, exposing bare skin. "CLEAR!" He shouted once he thought it was ready. He placed the paddles against her skin and an electric current ran through her body. Her chest jumped a bit as the paddles left her but there was still no heartbeat. "Come on. One more time. CLEAR!"

 

The doctor rubbed the paddles again and placed the paddles to her chest. Her whole body jumped up as a more powerful electric shock went though her body, bringing her nervous system back to life. Her heart started to slowly beat and the doctors and nurses sighed in relief. "Take her to intensive care. I'll notify the school." The doctor said.

 

The nurse did as instructed and slowly wheeled Minx to the ICU. Once there, Minx was hooked up to all sorts of tubes and fluids to help keep her alive until she could function on her own. The doctor had called the school. "Principal Dalmas? The student is out of cardiac arrest but she's in the ICU. She'll need to be in the ICU overnight and then she'll have to stay here for a couple more days. Just in case it happens again." The doctor said.

 

Principal Dalmas sighed. "Good. I'll tell them." He said. He hung up and went to go tell the kids who he saw were with Minx.

He found one of them in the library but decided to not wake her, so he left a note on the book she had been reading. The note said that Minx would have to stay at the hospital for a few days. He went to look for he teachers and found them keeping the students in line. He told them the good news and then headed back to his office.. "Already one of the kids had a heart attack." He muttered to himself.

With Minx gone and more immediate concerns out of the way, Rush turned his attention to Whisper. "Hey, are you alright? I get that feeling you don't drink much, and I can tell just from the smell that it was some strong stuff you just drank. You ought be carful or a fella might be inclined to take advantage of a pretty girl like you in such a state." He grinned, the last part having been meant as a joke.

Alphonse took the flask back and hid it away with his other flask as Minx started having a heart attack. He would have jumped in to action, but he didn't want to make the condition worse in his inebriated state, so he just snuck back up to his room and laid back.

 

He looked out the window and saw an ambulance with Minx being wheeled in to it on a gurney, and then it drove away with her inside it. He really hoped she was alright, but now all he could really do was lay down and sleep. There was nothing he could really do at this point.

"Grrah! Wha! Where am I?!" Dex found himself in the scanner room of the supercomputer, with a foot inside one of the tubes, and his computer across the floor. "I now remember why I don't drink anymore." He said as he got up off the floor. He then went over and picked up the computer. On the screen was a 3D image, rotating slowly. "Look at that, I do have great i'm shitfaced, don't I? Might as well collect some data while I'm here though" He then tucked his computer under his arm and went upstairs.

"W-what state....? We are in Francois....right" she giggled and kicked her legs. A little bit more clearly she stated "I shouldn't have d-drunk...*hiccup*...I need to sleep. Thank you Rush" Whisper got up and swayed out of the room. She stumbled off to the dorms, having a general idea of which room she had.

No offense, but I don't think you're really in good shape to walking around by yourself right now, and anyway I know this place pretty well, so I can help guide you."

Whisper laughed while twirling on the grass "Weeeeee wooooooooooon!" she stopped. Somewhere in her muddled brain, she knew being by herself was a bad idea. "You...yeah show me a bed"

 

She stumbled over "How many girlfriends *hiccup* have you had...? Or what do you call 'em...well I don't know I'm *hiccup* drunk"

Rush thought for a moment. "I don't know, really. I mean, I'm not sure if you can count a girl I only went out with once or twice as a girlfriend. If you could, then the answer is probably at least a couple dozen. But I've only had maybe three or four serious ones. Why do you ask?"

Whisper laid down on the grass, staring up at the swirling night sky. Luckily, her metabolism worked quickly and the intoxication wasn't as strong as before. "I was just a little curious. You're pretty, and clever, and you have such amazing energy that's absolutely infectious. I bet you've always had your pick of all the boys around. You've probably had a bunch of boyfriends."

"Her heartbeat seems stable. Think we can take her out and put her in everyday rotation?" The nurse asked the doctor. He put a finger on his chin and thought about it. "Yeah, we'll put her in and then she'll have to stay here for a couple more days." The nurse nodded.

 

Minx was still sleeping when they wheeled her into a public room.

Katie slept like a rock, the small amount of whisky keeping her nightmares at bay. She woke up with the sun bright in her face, somepony had thrown a blanket over her legs and moved her book to a nearby coffee table. She got up and rubbed her head, "Hello? Anybody here?"

 

A rather short lady peered from around a shelf of books. She was about 60 years old, with honey blonde hair, a wrinkly, yet smile worn face, and big wide rimmed glasses. She wore a long sleeved shirt and a flowing skirt like a gypsy's. "Oh why hello sweetie, I'm glad you're awake!" she set down a pile of books on a table before going to shake Katie's hand. "I'm Miss Delilah, the school librarian."

 

"I'm Katie." Kate yawned.

 

"Nice to meet you young lady! I saved your book you, I'm assuming you want it checked out?"

 

Katie nodded. "Sure, why not

 

She followed the women to the check out desk.

 

"You woke up just in time for breakfast you know!" The lady said, "after that, they're passing out class schedules in the commons. Miss Delilah scanned the book and a note fell out, "I believe this is yours?"

 

Still tired, Katie examined the note,she was shocked at the words, it was from the principle. Her eyes bugged. "No, no, that was a dream." she muttered desperately.

 

Delilah looked confused and Katie handed her the note muttering, "it didn't happen didn't happen didn't happen"

 

Delilah frowned at the words on the page, "I'm so sorry, I heard about this. She's your friend?"

 

Katie didn't answer, she was still muttering.

 

"Sweetie, Young," she scanned the page, "Minx should be fine, the note says she's in intensive care, and should be out in a few days." She frowned, "I can take you to the nurse, or the school counselor if you want."

 

"I-" Katie started, "I'm just gonna get food."

 

Delilah nodded and walked her to the cafeteria.

"What a day... at least it's truly over..." Said Arti too himself, as he got his breakfast and sat at a empty table, "I'm glad Minx is okay though... I wonder how Vincent is handling this though."

 

"Maybe we should check back with that Jeremy guy..." thought Arti, still contemplating things, "But I need to make sure I have things in order at school here first."

Alphonse woke up with the telltale signs of a hangover. Throbbing headache, dry mouth, sensitivity to stimuli, he really regretted forgetting to take preventative measures the third time he got drunk. The Return to the Past didn't cause him to become hungover like sleep did, so he simply forgot to drink water and keep hydrated.

 

Luckily, he had prepared for this eventuality, after experience taught him that hangovers were a fact of life, so he had some ibuprofen stashed away with some sunglasses and earplugs. He downed two ibuprofen and donned the sunglasses and earplugs to block out excess light and noise and went to breakfast.

 

Due to the lingering effects of the hangover, he decided to go with something rather bland, and picked out a bran muffin and water to keep his stomach settled. After paying for his breakfast, he took a seat at the nearest table and idly chewed his breakfast.

But bad people who want to control things like who you can love, what more, personal rights women have, and other things of that nature, seem to flood the government. I want freedom from living up the the conservatives standards.  I want to live how I want to live regardless of who they think I should be. So I fight against their unjust laws by advocating for opposite laws. They say gay marriage should be banned and gay people should be discriminated against? I say no way! Gay marriage should be both legal and protected." She smiled hoping he had made her point. Honestly, politics were an amazing escape, something to ague and debate about, not to mention submerge her attention in, and it was all pretty cut off from real life. "what about you? Why do you side with libertarians?" She took a bite of her biscut, watching his face to see if she had annoyed the boy, or impressed him. @@Secret Person,

Alphonse grabbed the rest of his muffin and drinks and finished them quickly before retreating upstairs. He didn't like getting in to politics. Honestly, he just hated seeing people get all worked up over stuff that really had no bearing on the rest of the world at large. "Why must they bring this in? All politicians are corrupt anyways. All it does is piss people off and the only people who will enjoy when you talk about politics are the people who like politics themselves, and that's just the definition of being a complete ponce." He rambled to himself.

Arti held his tongue for a moment, then replied, "Well i side with Classically Liberal Anarcho-Capitalists simply because I hate roads."

 

He smirked, then followed up, "Sorry, it's and inner circle joke, but I see that the governments power is almost always abused, by the people the laws where supposed to slow down. Gays should be able to get married at churched and organizations that will do so, but other churches should not have to. Government should not waste so much money, Welfare simply encourages a class of porr to sit and wait for their free money, international drug laws INCREASE crime, and Hemp should definitely be legal for it's uses, violent foreign policy leads to us just getting more enemies, but we should keep a strong defense, and the government just generally needs to get out of a our social and fiscal lives."
