"Did something happen to her to make her get a heart attack? Because teens rarely get one heart attack, let alone two.

Katie stared at the floor, shame ever present  in her eyes. She didn't want to answer the man, now more than ever she just wanted to escape. Talk politics, start a monster snowball fight, read a book, watch tv! Anything but answer that question. She wondered if Jeremy would keep walking if she just turned and left. For a second, she really considered it. Instead she just looked down at the ground and whispered in a near broken voice, "Ya, ya something did happen. It was my fault." @,

"Your fault? What do you mean it's your fault?" Jereny inquired as he got in the car and started it up. He waited for her to get in aand once he was sure she was buckled up, he started to drive to the hospital. Jeremy had a sneaking suspicion that XANA was behind this.

"Well, I'm not doing anything either, but ok. You stay safe now." Alphonse said, walking away and going to the courtyard. He took a seat on a bench and laid back on it, looking up in to the sky. It was a fairly cloudless day, nice out, but he didn't feel like doing anything. He couldn't get his mind off of Lyoko. Those Lyoko Warriors seemed to be interesting and would know what's going on, but Alphonse didn't have a clue. He wished he could go and explore it more often, without having to actually deal with all the fighting and such. Granted, he didn't mind the fighting, but he would much rather just explore the different sectors and see everything there was to see. His last thoughts were of one of the Lyoko Warriors specifically, Odd, as he fell in to a mid-morning nap.

Katie was torn on her answer, she could pass the blame off on Xana, effectively avoiding hate directed at her. But on the other hand she could tell him, take the hate, and muddle on with her life after the truth was out. She decided on something in between. "Lets just say." She started cringing in the passenger seat, "The first fight against Xana, was a fight against me." She watched his face for a reaction. @,

Jeremy's hands tightened on the steering wheel but other than that there was no reaction. "XANA." Was all Jeremy said. "You were possessed and you didn't know what you were doing. I understand that." Jeremy said quietly. He was possessed a few times too abd he didn't want to reflect upon those times.

Katie didn't ask how he knew that, she understood. Katie hadn't been fighting Xana for more than a day, and she had been possessed already. Jeremy had been fighting Xana for who knows how long, and had probably been through the same thing on more than one occasion. Katie frowned, a lump was in her throat, she could feel a panic attack on the way. "I'm just, gonna take a nap. Wake me when we get to the hospital." She closed her eyes and drifted off. @,

"Will do." Jeremy said. He sighed and thought about what XANA did. Upon rebooting the supercomputer, he had wasted no time in possessing and potentially killing a couple of kids. And now one of them was in the hospital, suffering from a second heart attack. "You just won't stop, will you XANA?" Jeremy asked himself.

 

"We have her stable but until we are completely sure she won't suffer from a third attack, we are keeping her in intensive care." The doctor told his team. Minx, meanwhile, was stuck in intensive and recovering from her latest attack.

Dex had packed up and just left his room. He decided to get to go get some fresh air and relax, seeing as how he was busy as of late. He had been working on an add-on to his Lyoko form since he got back to his room from the supercomputer. It wasn't anything huge but should grant a bit of a power boost in battle should he feel he needs it. He finally had a working prototype, although there were a couple of bugs: strain on virtual body, blinding emotions, blurring of judgement between friend and foe. Even so, This had to be tested out before he could fix these issues. 

 

Dex walked outside and crossed the main yard, listening to all the different conversations going on, one of which struck him with curiosity. "Did you hear, someone got sent to the hospital." a girl said to her friend, "I think it was because of heart problems, that's what I heard anyway. Her name was Minx I think." Dex stopped walking when he heard that. Minx was one of the people who went to Lyoko. What happened to her? He planned to find out, but he needs to get a hold of someone who knows her,perhaps one of the others who were in Lyoko with her. Hethen sat down and pulled out his laptop started to hack into the school database and get a hold of one of those guys.

Jeremy parked the car and took his glasses off to rub his eyes. He sighed and gently shook Katie. "We're here." Jeremy said. He put hid glasses back on and opened the door. He then got out to wait for her.

 

Minx did not look good. She looked like the Borg from Star Trek with all the tubes going out of her and successfully keeping her alive.

Katie's dreams were an intangible mess of fire and ice accompanied by the occasional memory floating just out of her reach. She dreamed of faces that she hadn't seen in years and frankly didn't want to see ever again. They flashed in an icy cold fire, laughing, yelling, crying. At some point, tho she wasn't sure when, her dream self realized it was all unreal, that everything she saw was being preformed by a disembodied mind. She wanted to leave the strange world and the second she wished for freedom of the memories, her wish was granted. Mostly. 

 

Jeremy parked the car and took his glasses off to rub his eyes. He sighed and gently shook Katie. "We're here." Jeremy said. He put hid glasses back on and opened the door. He then got out to wait for her.

Katie stretched and her eyes fluttered open, she got out of the car and followed Jeremy to the hospital. Realizing two things as she did, 1) she had willingly gotten into a car with a complete stranger and that was kinda against everything she had been taught about stranger danger, 2) This was reality, she couldn't just wake up and walk away. @,

"It's you again." Maud said in a slightly-less-than bored voice. Jeremy just sighed and waved at her.

 

"Nice to see you too. Listen. I got a call about the girl I visited earlier having a second heart attack?" Jeremy asked casually.

 

"Oh yeah. She's stuck in the ICU until further notice. Honestly, I'd pull the plug and get it over with." She replied while looking at her nails. Jeremy had a shocked look on his face.

What did she just say? Pure rage filled Katie's mind and glared at the bitch behind the desk. "That girl in there is my friend." She said it dangerously calm, and suddenly the world around her began to flicker with a strange light. "If you ever, EVER say something like that about her again I will tear you limb from limb do you understand me?" The inside of her eyes seemed to literally be aflame. She stared down the worker, and the worker gave back a terrified expression. The rage doubled and Katie started ranting in a whispered intense voice, "Do you treat all your patients like that you heartless devil?!? Like if a mom comes into the office asking for her daughters room and you be all like, 'oh ya she's dying, I'd pull the plug if I were you! Harharhar.' How the fuck did you get this job? Your bedside manner is shit! I have half a mind to call and complain to whoever your boss is, don't think I haven't got nurses fired before!" On the last word she smacked her hands down on the receptionist desk, the lady jumped back from the pure emotion. "Now where is she?" Katie asked.

Maud rapidly flipped through the register. "Uuuh ICU. Straight down tye halk and follow the signs. You can't miss it." She replied in a squeaky voice. "Please, please don't get me fired!" She pleaded.

Jeremy was about to hit her when Katie did most of the heavy work. He grabbed Katie's arms and teiwd to bring her back to Earth. "Katie, I think you scared her enough. Come on. We know where your friend is now." Jeremy tried to get Katie to calm down from her anger management issues.

"I have food in my room" Whisper leaned against Rush as they walked upstairs and up into the girls dorm. She let Rush guide her, knowing that he knew his way around. Once they got to her room she fumbled around a little, looking for pills and such. Once she found them, Whisper plopped down onto her mattress and winced in pain, holding her head.

Rush sat down next to her and stroked her face gently. "Don't worry, it'll get better. The pills will start to take effect soon, and then by the time they wear off you'll have made it through the worst of it. Just try to rest and I'll make you something to eat, okay? A little food in your belly should help a bit." If he'd stopped to think about it, Rush would have been surprised at himself for how caring he was being. Normally seeing her as a hungover wreck would be a complete turnoff and he'd simply leave her to her fate. Of course, he wasn't the type of person to think anything of it. He simply dug through his bag for some of his staple hangover foods. "Does mac and cheese sound alright? It should be easy on your stomach."

Jeremy began to pull Katie away and Katie allowed him too, sending a scowl back at the lady behind the desk and following. "Um," she blushed at Jeremy, "sorry about that, I'e been stressed lately and frankly I just had to yell at someone. Besides, she totally deserved it, you just don't say that to someone fearing for their friends life! She should be fired if you ask me." She shook her head, and bit her lip, she was scared to see Minx but hoping to whatever force drives the universe that she would be OK. @,

Jeremy breathed when she spoke to him about Maud. "It's fine. I would have punched her if you didn't talk her down. Now let's see about visiting Minx, huh?" Jeremy asked her. He started to walk down the hall but then shot Maud a glare. He turned back around and walked back to the receptionist. "Don't you ever talk like that about a patient again. If you do, then I will plant fake documents. I will plant so much information on you that you won't see the light of day again. Got that?" He said threateningly but kept his voice quiet.. She just nodded and began to sob quietly. Happy that he's done that, he turned back to the hallway and beckoned for Katie to follow. "Let's go and see how Minx is doing." Jeremy said with a smile.

Katie raised an eyebrow in amusement as Jeremy and her walked to the ICU, "Plant false information?" She asked, "Isn't that, you know, illegal?" she gave him a smile, a tense smile, but a smile none the less. "I won't tell or anything, but really there are less life destroying ways to get somebody fired." She opened the door to the ICU still waiting for a response and to see Minx. @,

"Really?" Jeremy asked with an amused smile on his face. Jeremy walked in after Katie and they saw Minx in a bed, hooked up to all sorts of machinery just to keep her stable. "She's not able to talk at the moment." The nurse told them. Jeremy walked up to the bed anyway. "She doesn't look good." Jeremy commented.

 

"Of course I don't. I'm in the hospital dweeb." Devilinx muttered. It was astonishing that she could speak because of the tube in her mouth to try and regulate her breathing. That, and the fact that her mouth didn't move. "Oh lay off them. Hi Jeremy and Katie." Angelinx said condescendingly.

 

"I hope that voice changing isn't permanent." Jeremy muttered.

Katie blinked and it dawned on her, strange clone powers on Lyoko, going from overjoyed to grumpy and bitter in the span of a second, and now talking to herself?!? Minx had multiple personality disorder! Or at least something like it. she would have to inquire further, "Um, Minx," she began,"are you OK, like" She blushed, "I mean I know your here, and that's, you know, not OK, but uh, beyond you being here are you well, feeling OK?" Well that came out as a jumbled mess of words, she hoped Minx would catch what she was really trying to ask, but didn't hold her breath. @,

Arti finally made it too the hospital now, and he quickly found his way (With permission from the nurse, of course), to the room Minx was in. He waited outside for a moment, looking in to see Jeremy and Katie inside already. 

 

"This doesn't look good, life support means bad heart issues." he thought to himself, hesitating before entering.

Katie turned as Arti walked in the door, he looked just as worried as she felt. "Hey Arti." She gave a sheepish smile, "So," she fumbled nervously, "How have you been?" The sharp objects and sterile surroundings coupled with just the feeling of just not being able to leave was freaking Katie out. Talking to someone who she hadn't fatally hurt would be a blessing. @@Secret Person, @,

"Well. Would you look at that? Arti's here too. Come to see me on my deathbed?" Devilinx sneered. Angelinx hit her. "Oww. What was that for?" Devilinx whined. Angelinx just sighed.

 

"Because this isn't our deathbed. Anyway, to answer both your questions. Minx DOES have multiple personality disorder. She got it when she was six, like she said. I'd rather not talk about it because it was a really hard time for her." Angelinx paused for a bit to let that sink in. "Now. About her heart. Hopefully this will be the last heaart attack she has for a long time because, by the time she's recovered and everything, her body would have gotten use to the electricity inside her. And now, hopefully, when she uses a lot of it, like trying to kill the music, she won't go into cardiac arrest." Angelinx explained.

 

Jeremy was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that Minx had Multiple Personality Disorder.

Katie stared at Minx, multiple personality disorder, huh. She wanted to ask more questions but thought it distasteful. "Well," she said, "I really really hope you get better soon. And I'm sorry for causing all of this, if I hadn't followed Dex..." she trailed off staring at the wall, she felt like breaking down but instead she falsely smiled, "I'm just gonna go use the restroom." She excused herself and the next thing she knew she was sitting alone in a bathroom stall reading a few chapters of Harry Potter trying not to start sobbing. @,
