They can eat meat and don't die from eating quiche, that's enough evidence to put them different from our ponies. Not to mention getting a broken leg is fatal to a pony and MLP Ponies somehow see it as a minor problem

Eggs, ponies in the show eat eggs which a real horse can't do. Also, quiche is toxic to ponies and the amount of cakes Pinkie eats would be enough to kill two horses 3 times over

All mammals can handle eating meat in small amounts. Even animals like sheep, and ponies. They have been seen to eat parts of dead animals, for minerals etc. Hell when their foals are born, they eat the uterus, which contains a hell of a lot more meat than quiche. I come from the countryside, and my uncle(who is a farmer) has seen this. He called the vet, who said that this is normal. Obviously they don't go for the muscle, they go for the innards. But it's not a common thing. It only happens if the soil and grass is mineral poor.

I have to agree.  Reason why I see her "weak" is b/c in my eyes, she still looks young.  Now that you mentioned 1,500 years old, that's like 25 years old in human age, imo.  Both her and Luna, I should say.
