FiM: Alternate universe or different time period?

I've been thinking, FiM characters are a lot different from the previous gens. Like certain characters becoming younger or older, and most (if not all) ponies become extremely different.

 

So, my question is, is this version of Equestria from a different time period? Or is it a whole different dimension.

 

In my head canon, I believe that this is an Equestria from a different time period, maybe in the distant future. For one thing, Spike didn't know what a human was, but at the same time, the changelings are a sign that this Equestria is connected to the old Equestria (if it was called that back then, although I think it was just called Pony Land) somehow (because of the Flutter Ponies>Changelings theory).

 

The reason the ponies look more human now is they had time to evolve, developing shorter faces, and more distinct appearances. The mane 6 are the descendants of their previous gen incarnations, and Derpy is a descendant of Minty.

 

Aw, what the heck? Part of me is really wishing that Megan appears in FiM, helps the changelings turn back into Flutter Ponies, then convinces all of the ponies of Equestria to face off against a great evil (whether it be a returning villain, or something never seen before that's more powerful than any villain, or maybe all the villains return at once).

Anyways, I think it's a completely different kingdom/continet.country altogether, in the same world.

I think it's a different country, but in the same universe. I wouldn't want Chrysalis and the Changelings to be reformed, unless it's for a damn good reason.

Well, if they were changed back to Flutter Ponies, then it would be to fight a great evil that all the ponies are needed to fight. An evil so great, that Megan had to return to rally the ponies together, and fight alongside her equine friends once more. And this time, she's all grown up.

Look that sounds like a good idea of yours, but it's fine to leave things the way they are. Megan can stay where she is, the Changelings can stay the way they are, and everything will be just fine.

You're telling me you wouldn't nerdgasm so hard if Megan appeared in a movie, or the series finale? You know you want to see Megan again

 

j/k, if you don't, I respect that, although I think a lot of people who have been watching since g1 would. Although the target audience isn't those who were around since g1.

 

Edit: Maybe make this happen just in the comics, or a special movie?

I really think its a different dimension, I mean, if it went through 4 gens, wouldn't humans be one of the predominate races in their world? Why would they not know about who humans are if one or two appeared there? I would think twilight would know what they were if it happened in the past and was recorded onto a book.

 

I don't know if I would enjoy the fact of a human being in that gen, I mean, It would kill the whole fantasy setting it has and revert it back and try to connect Gen 1 with G4. I mean really- I wouldn't be able to survive knowing that they were, at one point.... G3..... *shudder*
