Anypony a Buddhist?

I was thinking of taking up Buddhism, because I agree with everything I've been reading about it so far. But I was wondering, I do still have some cravings (like a craving for soda). Would I be doomed to be reborn again, if I don't completely drop my soda cravings? Or is there more like a points systems where I rack up bad karma for giving into cravings?

Also, my current system of living is to live simply, don't ask for things, and accept what is given. Would Buddhism be much harder than this? I also have an average amount of material wealth (in goods anyways, although I do live on a fixed income), although my monitor is 36 inches. Would holding onto this prevent me from finding true enlightenment? Or am I ok, as long as I make sure that in the future, I spend my money on more worthwhile things that can help others?

Hi there! I'm not a Buddhist in the religious sense but I do appreciate the philosophy surrounding Zen Buddhism. I'm actually religious wise a Christian :D. Odd combo I know but I love Philosophy in general and Zen has always captivated me.

Buddism, while being one of the few religions i'd be half tempted to have a go at, asks us to give an awful lot that i'm not quite will to give up. And tbh, i'd rather keep being reborn over and over.

In the end i'm gonna be the only guy on the wheel, keeping you all here hahaha.

Yeah, I just can't see myself going through getting braces, going through school, getting wisdom teeth pulled, etc over and over again. I would rather be in paradise, so I can live out my fantasies. Although someone told me that buddhists cannot give or receive presents and don't celebrate birthdays or Christmas. But I did read that Buddhism is flexible, and that if I have a problem with one rule, I could drop it, and that there is no one way to follow Buddhism. So I'm guessing that as long as I'm still compassionate and loving, I can still give and receive gifts.

I dont believe in reincarnation or anything like that, but I try to be decent to nearly everyone. A good majority of the time giving stuff that is meaningful to me away to others who need/want it. I only have a few exceptions that were major gifts and lifesavers to me.
