Courageous Thunder Dash

@,

Ariel flicked her ears as she listened to his explanation, and then nodded to indicate that she understood. She then watched as Rainbow got a spare, and smiled and clapped her little hooves together for her as she said, "Way to go!" Again, her cheering came out rather quiet; but either way, her voice was naturally somewhat soft - it was simply the way she sounded.

@@Miss Reaper,

It was Thunder's turn again. He was going for the turkey. He stood up on his hind legs and eyed the pins with determination, knowing that he would get the strike. He then took the three steps and rolled the ball. It curved out and hooked back. "There it is!" Thunder shouted as an explosion was heard. No pins were left up. "Yeah! Turkey!" Thunder said jumping up and down. "A turkey is three strikes in a row." Rainbow explained.

@,

Ariel jumped up, at first from being startled by the explosion of bowling pins; but then she fluttered her wings happily, keeping herself in the air for a moment or so as she cheered, "Woo-hoo!" She then settled herself down once more, making a note of Rainbow's explanation of the term 'turkey' as used in the context of bowling, storing that away in her memory.

@@Miss Reaper,

It was Storm's turn next. He bucked the ball and there was an explosion of pins. Storm had gotten a strike. "Well it's about time!" He said as he walked back and waited for Blitz to go. Storm was very happy that he got a strike. "Strikes are really great, especially when you had a very rough start." Blitz stated as he got up.

@,

Ariel was starting to get accustomed to the cacophonous sound of bowling pins clattering as they were taken down by the bowling ball; before, it would make her jump nearly each time she heard it. She watched Storm, and clapped her hooves together for him as he got a strike.

@@Miss Reaper,

It was Blitz's turn again. He gathered some telekinetic ability and made his ball spin. He then gathered some more and then released it all. The ball curved out and then hooked back in but missed the head. Three pins were left up. "Ah, missed the head." Blitz stated. "The head pin is the pin at the very front." Storm stated.

Ariel nodded, making a note of the position of the head pin as she watched Blitz. She was still intrigued by his technique, even if she found Thunder's to be the most effective of them all; though, these were merely conclusions drawn from the observations she had made in the span of this one game.

@@Miss Reaper,

Blitz then went for his second ball. He gathered some telekinetic energy and made it spin. He then gathered more and released it. The ball curved out and curved in. It only knocked the first pin down. However, it ricocheted off the side wall and tripped the other down. "Yeah!" Blitz yelled as he jumped. "That was luck." Storm said a little jealous.

@,

Ariel watched Blitz knock down the remaining pins, one taken down and the rest taken by the ricochet action of the one actively knocked down by the bowling ball. She couldn't decide herself if that was just luck, but either way it was her turn now. She went up and retrieved her ball, setting it down and lining it up as she made certain to have a little distance from the lane so she could get a running start. She ran at the ball, tripping over her hooves at the last minute and sliding into the ball. The ball went on, rolling down the lane but only knocking down three pins.

The filly picked herself back up right away, and retrieved her ball for the second roll. She set the ball down again, and ran to push the ball once more, managing to succeed this time. Four more pins were knocked down, leaving three still standing.

@@Miss Reaper,

"Not bad Ariel. Not bad at all." Thunder said clapping. It was Rainbow Dash's turn now. She stepped up and bucked the ball hard. It rolled straight down dead center and curved slightly at the last second. Only the 10-pin was left up. "Ugh, I thought I had that strike!" Rainbow said a little frustrated.

(OOC: Dunno about you, but this bowling thing is starting to feel mildly repetitive... Or maybe it's 'cause I'm not into sports? xD)

Ariel smiled at him, always appreciating a little praise, even if she hadn't knocked down all of the pins. She then resumed watching the game, still making mental notes and still watching the techniques of her family members.

@@Miss Reaper,

(OOC: I can skip if you'd like. I'm a bowler myself so...)

Rainbow lined up and bucked the ball. It curved but missed the tenpin by millimeters. "Oh gosh, I hate when that happens." Thunder stated. Rainbow just facehoofed at the fact that she missed the pin by very short. It was Thunder's turn next. He gave Rainbow a high-hoof for trying.

(OOC: Aha, that makes sense, then. I think part of it for me is, there's hardly anything for Ariel to do when it's not her turn, especially considering she's not one for much commentary. xD; )

"You can do it, Daddy!" Ariel said encouragingly to Thunder. She had been very impressed by his skills thus far, and was hopeful to see yet another perfect strike from him; wondering if three in a row was called a turkey, what would four in a row be called? Or five, or six...

@@Miss Reaper,

(OOC: Kay, I'll skip to the last frame of the game after this post.)

Thunder got up on his hind legs and picked up his ball. He then eyed the pins sharply. Thunder then took three steps forward, swung back and released. The ball curved out. "Eyup!" Thunder shouted as the ball curved back in. There was an explosion and no pins were left up. "Handbone!" Thunder yelled happily as he jumped up.

(OOC: Okay. )

"Yay, Daddy!" Ariel cheered for Thunder as she jumped up and fluttered her wings, happy to see another strike from him. Then she wondered what a handbone was, eventually assuming that that was the term for a fourth strike in a row, which didn't make much sense to her; then again, neither did the term 'turkey' for three in a row.

@@Miss Reaper,

"It's also called a clover...you've seen a four-leaf clover right?" Rainbow asked Ariel.

Soon, the tenth frame arrived. Thunder had gotten 6 strikes in a row and was on his last ball. He decided to switch the order so he could go last. Ariel was up. "Alright Ariel, this is you last ball! Make it count!" Thunder cheered. "You can do it Ariel!" Rainbow cheered.

Ariel fluffed her feathers up, trying to put on an air of confidence as she went to go get her ball. She set it down a little further back than she had been, wanting a bit more of a running start. When she was certain that it was lined up, she ran at the ball and pushed with all her might. The ball sped down the lane, knocking down several pins. Some of the fallen pins toppled its still-standing fellows, the last remaining one wobbling slowly before joining the rest.

The filly stared in disbelief for a few moments, before she squealed, "I did it! I got a strike!" She giggled happily, jumping up and down in joy.

@@Miss Reaper,

"Yay Ariel!" Thunder said as he went and gave his daughter a hug. "I knew you could do it!" He said flipping her belly up and giving her belly a little tickle. Rainbow giggled at this display of affection for her daughter. Storm went after and got a spare. "Yes!" He said happily.

Ariel smiled and hugged him in return, before she was turned over and her belly tickled. The filly gave a little squeal before she started giggling. She flailed her little hooves as she was tickled, her small wings stretching out at the same time while she giggled and laughed.

@@Miss Reaper,

Thunder stopped tickling after a few seconds and put Ariel on Storm's lap. After Rainbow and Blitz had gone, it was Thunder's turn. He was determined to finish the game with a strike, since he unfortunately hit a nasty 7-10 split on the 6th frame of his game. Thunder eyed the pins sharply as he stood on his hind legs.

It took Ariel a few moments to recover from the tickling as she then watched Thunder intently as he stepped up. Her little wings stretched in anticipation; she knew he could finish this game strongly, having seen his ability. "You can do it, Daddy!" she cheered for him.

@@Miss Reaper,

Thunder smiled widely when his little daughter cheered for him. He then took those three steps forward, dropping all self-doubt. He took a backswing and swung the ball hard forward. The ball curved out wide. "Hup!" Thunder shouted as the ball curved back in. It then hit the pocket causing an explosion. No pins were left up. "Yeah!" Thunder shouted jumping up on his hind legs.

Ariel also jumped up onto her hind legs, waving her front hooves and fluttering her wings as she cheered, "Woo-hoo! Way to go, Daddy!" She then fluttered her wings a little faster, getting herself to hover again at about Thunder's eye level as she moved towards him. "You're really good at this bowling thing, Daddy," she then remarked with a little giggle. "Maybe I can be as good as you someday!"

@@Miss Reaper,

Thunder went in and hugged Ariel. "Someday, just someday." Thunder stated as he broke the hug after a few seconds and went to back his things. "Well...Ariel...wanna make a quick stop at the toy store and see what toys you'd like?" Thunder offered as he finished packing his stuff.

Ariel blinked, considering the proposal for a few moments as she slowly lowered herself safely to the ground. She never really did have the chance to pick out new toys for herself before... Looking back at Thunder, she smiled and happily said, "Yeah! I"d like that."
