Sure. Basically, how a rebel works, is you will be in undercover/a normal pony in another faction (Crystal Empire, preferably). Then, when the rebels begin to form, you join the rebels and begin fighting back whee.

@ You can be one of the foot soldiers in the Crystal Empire, and you will experience the fighting against Twilight's kingdom first hand. So you will have good reason to then become a rebel, when the dissidence begins.

So what will he do up until the Crystal Empire dissidence? Or will he just be travelling across Equestria, disrupting all of the Princesses efforts?

He would probably do the latter using the field of illusion till the Crystal Empire dissidence happens when he would then join the rebels. He does constantly travel due to his handicap.

I saw no mention of a handicap in his OC profile. Except for "Taller than the average pony."  and "Seeing everything as a statistic." But those aren't really handicaps/provide a reason for moving. Did you forget to include it?

No his handicap is his intelligence/personality. It got him kicked out of the Canterlot Academy when he was one of their bests, and forced him to be a traveling Librarian so he would not miss out on spells.
