Do you think Hasbro is such a great troll?

Yeah, recently when I stumbled upon this DeviantArt deviation here, (make sure to check it out before reading on)

I wrote in the comment below it:

And then Hasbro lawyers came and said: "Allright, Miss Faust, we're taking them."
"But.. but.. WHY!?"
"Didn't you read the Agreement? Everything you work on belongs to us. We'd paid ya for that, remember? Now with them, WE would rule the world! MUHAHAHAH! ]:>"
"Mommy! Me not want! ;( "
"Don't worry, my little ponies, I'll figure something out. I'll find some help... An army... who will love you so much they'll rescue you..."

And the story continues among the brony fandom...

It's nice to see that there are still some people capable of thinking that some things could have been done better in MLP:FiM, especially with the whole Alicoronation thingy. I've said it many times yet, that I'm quite OK with Twilight transforming into an Alicorn, but I'm not OK with how it's been done in the Season 3 finale: without enough justification in the storyline and character arc development. And mixing in yet another horrible idea of making Twilight a princess, which is completely out-of-character for her. And I assure you that I did my best to make it clear to the writers. I could see some signs of redemption from their side in "Equestria Girls" and the Season 4 opening, but those are still some half-assed solutions to the problem. What has been done cannot be undone so easily without messing the storyline even further. I still think it's possible (or at least it was throughout the Season 4), but when I hear that they plan to fuck it up even more, with this whole kingdom stuff, this makes me really mad, upset and disappointed. I can only hope that it's not the sole fault of the writers; I rather smell Hasbro's stinking hands on it all around the place. They definitely had to push on the writers to introduce these toy-selling shit into our beloved TV series. They're ruining it for the writers, for Lauren Faust's vision, and for the rest of us who love this TV series.

Unfortunately, I think that such attempts at improving or correcting the show are beating the dead horse. I doubt that any such complaints or initiatives from the side of the fandom would cause any effect. Hasbro will do whatever they want, since they apparently think that they have rights to all pastel-color horse characters there exist, and they constantly remind us about that. Which pisses me off beyond recognition, since they're simply parasiting on the true artists' creative work and fighting with the very hand which feeds them (that is us). They don't even care to make their damn toys show-accurate.

What's more disturbing to me is that there are lots of fans who are OK with that, and defend Hasbro by saying that they can do whatever they like, since the copyrights are theirs etc. Yeah, it might be, but it should apply only to the resources which are actually theirs (that is, the episodes which the DHX crew has made for them). They shouldn't claim any rights to the things which hasn't been made with use of their resources, that is to fan art, fanmade episodes, games etc. which has been made solely by fans and with use of fan's time and resources and talents. I often say that if one is such a talent that he can replicate someone else's work as well as the original author, they both should be allowed to share their work with other people without limits.

Though I would be very happy to see some alternative endings / plot lines for the episodes, made solely by fans, just to see if it really could be better. If only Hasbro was OK with that...
