Are We Expecting So Much?

Season 4 is the first season which has a story line. The writers gave us a problem (the box) in the first episode, and that story continued in some episode (key episodes) and now, we have just 1 more week to go to see how that problem will be solved.

But since it is the first time that a season has a story line and since we are waiting since october to see the opening of this box and the new villain, we are expecting sooooo many things for the season final. I mean, if unless we will be able to give it a 15/10 or 20/10, we will be very disappointed.

What do you think, ponies? Do you think that we are expecting so much?

I wouldn't really call it a storyline... More a 'vague, overarching plot device'. Avatar TLA had a storyline. (Get to the North Pole. Learn Waterbending. Learn Earthbending. Learn Firebending. Beat the Fire Lord.)

 

MLP is focused on one-shot slice of life style episodes. I have seen story lines woven into shows like this, but they're something every episode builds towards in subtle ways, not an occasional shout-out in isolated episodes.

 

I'd love to see a real season-long storyline in MLP. It'd be awesome.

Ya I know that this isn't a real story line, but I just couldn't find the word to describe that, my english isn't perfect And yes you are correct, a real story line for MLP would be awesome!

In the first show of said season he would kill off Spike

 

I think since the S2 opener and finale were so epic, fans tend to want something equally grand and have been Chasing Amy in their heads ever since. That said, I say we are hoping more than expecting.

I know I'm expecting a lot. The Equestrian games finale which they've been hyping up so much, alongside a new supposedly Vampire like villain from Tartarus. Oh yeah, there's Rainbow Power too. Don't forgot the Rainbow Power.

I don't expect anything about upcoming My Little Pony episodes. I don't think about how the episode will end and how the characters will behave. That way, when I do see the episode, I won't be disappointed. I just enjoy the show as it is!

From what I can tell people are holding an extremely high bar for the finale. I understand everything that went on throughout the season, but if you set your expectations too high you'll just be disappointed.

 

That's why after Pinkie Pride and Rarity Takes Manhattan (for example) people expect every episode to be like those, but when you get a more tame, mellow episode, everyone feels let down by it and say it was a terrible episode.
