ggg-2 3,553 May 9, 2014 Share May 9, 2014 Why are people wanting Starswirl to appear as a villain? in the comics he's depicted as a kind, well-meaning yet eccentric wizard, and moreover was basically stated to be Celestia's personal confidant. so why would he ever be a villain? 1 Don't be a nerd. Pastel 7,630 May 9, 2014 Share May 9, 2014 (edited) I've never wanted him to be a villain. But I guess he's not, in Magical Mystery Cure, Celestia talked about him like he was a friend, or at least not someone evil. Ianpiersonjdavis 513 May 10, 2014 Share May 10, 2014 In the comics, he convinced Celestia to ditch her royal duties and new kingdom to go traipsing around in a different dimension as well as the fact that he believed what he was doing was more important than what was going on with Luna after both of them acknowledge her strange behavior and pretty much told Celestia that she wasn't important enough to deal with until they returned-which means that without him, Nightmare Moon could have been prevented. In Magical Mystery Cure, Celestia says that he didn't 'understand friendship' which usual only applies to jerk characters within the show.
purple.teal 50 May 10, 2014 Share May 10, 2014 I would like to see more of starswirl the bearded in later seasons, But I think we already see him in a few episodes already. In modern episodes we see a pony named Time Turner hang around in the background. Most know that this pony is also called Dr. Whooves and is clearly based of Dr. Who. Dr. Who is a powerful and eccentric lord with power over time, A flying and time-travelling Police Box, and the power to regenerate. Starswirl the bearded was a very powerful, and eccentric wizard. He was powerful enough to merit a castle wing dedicated to him. What is in this wing provides the theory's base. A centerpiece in the shape of an hourglass, and shelves filled with time-based spells. Is it possible that Starswirl is a previous regeneration of the Dr. Whooves we have grown to love? 1 If you are going to walk on thin ice, you may as well dance! M'aiq the Liar 5,804 May 10, 2014 Share May 10, 2014 I would love to see the "gandalf" pony appear in the show proper. There is a lot you could do with an eccentric wizard who "does not understand friendship". You could have him come back, only to mistake twilight and the rest of the mane 6 as enemies, or have him resolve a magical conflict. 1 http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/vera-yeoman-r5921Muh pleb tier OC .http://mlpforums.com/blog/1663/entry-12477-pony-waifu-wedding-13-maiq-x-fleetfoot/ MLP forum's #1 Fleetfoot fan also married to fleetfoot <
Everleaf 541 May 10, 2014 Share May 10, 2014 I do not actually know but it would be a interesting twist I would love to see the "gandalf" pony appear in the show proper. Pastel 7,630 May 10, 2014 Share May 10, 2014 (edited) That would be awesome if he comes to help the princesses during a season finale, but acts like a jerk: "that would be 1,000,000 bits Celestia" Dunno if he's still alive though. Resolve a magical conflict, I'm sure he's extremely powerful, but also friendly, though he'll fight alone. Edited May 10, 2014 by Blobulle
SasQ 1,379 May 10, 2014 Share May 10, 2014 The fact that he didn't understand the Magic of Friendship doesn't necessarily mean he was a jerk. He could simply be blind. There's a difference between not seeing or not understanding something, and rejecting that something willfully. Scootalove 10,689 May 10, 2014 Share May 10, 2014 He was never interested in understanding or learning about friendship, doesn't make him a villain. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Adorkable 2,737 May 10, 2014 Share May 10, 2014 Why are people wanting Starswirl to appear as a villain? Who wanted him to be a villain? I personally don't think, if he ever did appear, he would be a villain. We don't know much about him besides how incredible he was with magic, and from what we've heard about him from Celestia and Twilight Sparkle, it sounds like he was more of a leader, a hero if you will. ^^
