I don't know about all of you many gamer bronies out there, but I'm sick and tired of people wanking Kratos to Hel and back! Fanboys claim he can beat character far, far beyond his capabilities. And one such character, is Ryu Hayabusa, from the Ninja Gaiden franchise. Many people don't realize it, but Ryu is extremely, ridiculously powerful! Sure, Krakos defeated some powerful foes, but the Greek gods in God of War are, at least compared to other incarnations, extremely weak. In fact, those versions of the Greek gods are vulnerable to being killed by things such as being beaten to death, being stabbed, being shot by normal arrows, and even death by large door, lol. But seriously, people overrate Kratos far too much, and I've had enough of it.

So I'm starting this debate thread, that will hopefully open some peoples eyes, and prove to them that Kratos isn't the strongest swordsman in gaming history. To post in this thread, you must post a feat or proof of some kind to back up your reason for why you think either one would win, like so.

I believe that these stats should cover it.

Ryu Hayabusa:

Speed- Uses techniques that allow him to move at lightning speed, has dodged natural bolts of lightning from close range, and outran an F-22 fighter jet!! (feats shown in Ninja Gaiden 2, and Ninja Gaiden for the NES)

Strength- Has overpowered a goddess in raw power, who was capable of easily and casually swiping sky scrapers away like gnats, and can wield massive weapons that should weigh a ton, with little effort, while still maintaining his speed and agility. (Feats shown in Ninja Gaiden 3)

Agility- Has easily ran vertically up walls, buildings, and even sky scrapers, can jump several yards at high speed in a single jump, and is nimble enough to wield large weapons, while simultaneously dodging bullets, rockets, and lighting at close range. (Feats shown in all games)

Stamina- Ryu is able to fight several enemies simultaneously, for many days without rest, without tiring, and continue to fight, despite being heavily injured. (Feats shown in all games)

Durability- Ryu has tanked full assaults from powerhouses such as Tengu, the giant goddess (of whom I cannot remember her name) the two demon statues from Ninja Gaiden NES, and even the nigh omnipotent reality warper known as Vigoor Emperor. Every single one of those bosses were at least country busters, and at least two of them were planet busters.

Weapons/abilities- The true Dragon Sword, an unbreakable katana that is capable of slaying any evil. Enma’s fang, a sword that becomes more durable depending on how much blood it has absorbed.
The Eclipse Scythe, a heavy as hell and unbreakable Scythe, mostly used against slower enemies.
The Fiends Bane Bow is his greatest weapon for long ranged combat, capable of penetrating through tanks & helicopters. It can also be used to launch explosives.Has an endless supply of shurikens that are usually used for chaining combos and distracting enemies. Mid-high level regeneration. Immunity to reality warping, via his Hayabusa blood. Ninpo, magical ninja arts that allow him to manipulate the elements. And many, many more. Just Google "all Ninja Gaiden weapons" to learn more.

This is my proof that Ryu would own Kratos. I would like someone to attempt to try and tell me just how Kratos would work his way out of this one. Like I said, please post a feat or proof.

Note: They have all of their weapons and abilities from every game they were ever in.

I'm sorry for Ryu, but Kratos with ease.

Agreed. Kratos power is beyond and would win immediately.

I disagree, and here's why. First off, Ryu is much more agile and fast than Kratos. Ryu outran a fighterjet, and consistantly scales large surfaces by using nothing more than his legs, and has been shown to dodge natural lightning before. Second, Ryu's true dragon sword causes more than considerable damage to evil foes. And I'm sorry, but no matter how much Kratos believes that what he does is righteous, he's basically straight up evil. He kills innocent people, cares about no one but himself, and essentially caused the end of the world, all because of a bad temper. The only time his actions were justified was in the first game. But after that, he's no better than Ares.

And third, while it is true that he has killed gods, that doesn't necessarily mean it's an impressive feat. The gods in Kratos's world are considerably easier to kill, as opposed to, say, the gods in Akuma, or even Percy Jackson series gods. Kratos killed one with a door! Does that sound very "godly strong" to you? Not to me. Ryu fought two gods at once before, and they were both country busters plus. That's a Tuesday for Ryu.

And finally, Kratos's most impressive feats were accomplished through extreme PIS and A LOT of outside help. (I.E. Athena, Hera, etc.) Ryu, however, defeats his most powerful enemies on his own. It's not nearly as one sided as you guys believe it to be.

In strength and training along weaponry, Kratos surpasses him. Also, the mere fact that Kratos is a near-Immortal demi-god makes him win this fight instantly.

That WOULD be true...if it weren't for the fact that Ryu has killed continent busting, regenerating, angry gods before, with nothing but his skills and the true dragon sword. Sure, Kratos is strong and durable and all, but more than Ryu can handle? That's debatable. Ryu has survived direct attacks from those aformentioned angry gods, so he's no slouch in durability either. Kratos has no feats to put himself above Ryu, other than raw strength.
