Jump? Why jump? I can fly afterall! Rising start to fly ... and land on his face.

 

"Ouch! Okay, flying is no option anymore!"

 

He see Riley point to the window and what he planned. Somepony is coming up and he has no idea what happen next, so he just hope, that it work and jump out of the window.

Ariel raised her head, her ears flicking up when she heard the hoofsteps. Riley was right; they had to escape, and quickly! This was no time to sit around crying. The fight-or-flight response kicked in - flight was the necessary choice in this situation, and the adrenaline prepared her for what had to be done.

 

She had been about to help Riley push the mattress out - when other ponies started jumping out the window anyway! It was a risky fall, especially when they were all as small as they were now. She felt like she had to do something. She lit her horn with magic, trying to the best of her ability to summon up her power. Naturally, her magical potential was drastically diminished, being just a filly now. But with her talent being a magic-related one, her magical power was considerably above average, even at this young age. Even so, it was a strain for her to use magic at all, her face scrunching in concentration.

 

She managed to conjure a somewhat small, cushion-like thing below that didn't have much of a form and wouldn't likely last very long, but at the least it would be there to break their fall. Now came the hard part: gathering up the courage to make the jump herself.

 

Okay... You can do this, she told herself. Just close your eyes, and DON'T look down!

 

Ariel took a few deep breaths to try and calm herself. Then she closed her eyes tightly, and ran at the window immediately so that she didn't have any more time to hesitate. She leaped out the window, keeping her eyes shut even as she felt herself falling. She tensed up, but surprisingly didn't even scream as she braced herself for the impact.

"Thanks, Ariel!" called Riley as the green mare filly conjured up a cushion and leapt out. Now it's your turn, he told himself. Dropping the mattress, he ran up to the window. He knew his flying abilities would be diminished as he was now just a colt, but he still spread his wings out anyway. Displaying no fear, he leapt out of the window shouting, "Wheeeeeeeeee!". He made a graceful landing on the cushion.

 

"Boy, that escalated quickly..." he commented. "So, who else is up there?" he asked, not having fully memorised the group.

Joyfire was impatiently waiting for other ponies to jump too. She didn't understand why did they make a fuss about that mattress. They first said there was a mattress around and then they wasted their precious time on summoning things with magic. While being trapped in a body of a filly and having diminished magic powers! That was just too much of a time waste for her. If there was the mattress in the first place, they should have used it instead of wasting time on casting summoning spells. But anyways, she didn't even need the mattress. While she did land roughly, she just got through with somw shallow bruises.

"Oh Rising, I see you are strong too. I admire that. As for the rest of you, what took you so long? The elderly mare could have just walked in and you would be doomed! Aaargh, nevermind. We must get going. Now!" said Joyfire as she noticed Ariel and Riley jumping out of the window.

"Well, I guess it's my turn,"Gemini muttered to herself. She shut her eyes and edged out of the windowsill. She felt a fresh breeze rushing past her as she braced herself for impact. She landed on the cushion the other filly conjured up and trotted off of it, waiting for the next pony to jump.

Star Ruby was confused. When she heard some trotting coming and maybe escaping was the best idea, but she also wanted to stand her ground and fight. But being small might have meant her magic would have gone away with her size, so she decided to jump with the rest. She also had a slight fear of heights so she was shaking a lot when she walked up to the window to jump. She looked down and the ground seemed so far away. She felt so dizzy and nearly fell out of the window, but caught herself and then jumped before she got anymore dizzy.

"AHHH!" She screamed as she fell.

When Gloom heard someone coming down the stairs, he grabbed his knife and unsheathed it with his teeth clinching the handle. He then put his sheath in his bag and got into a fighting stance. Then he looked around and saw that he was now alone. It might have been better, cause now they wouldn't get in the way. But then he could hear more hoof steps. Normally he could takes on a five or more enemies at once with no sweat. But now he was a colt that my be a problem for him. "... DAMN IT!!" He ran and jumped out the window with his bags and his knife still in his teeth. Which was good cause he would have bit his tongue of in anger. But it didn't stop him from cussing like a very angry sailor.

While she was waiting for the other ponies to jump out of the window, Joyfire's wrath culminated. She was outsmarted by a simple trick for little foals! Her mind was battling to comprehend that fact.

"Oh, did you all FINALLY decide to get out? Are we all here? Because we have no time to waste. Actually, we already wasted plenty of time by you making your mind up on whether you should jump or not..."

After finishing that sentence, Joyfire suddenly started pushing other ponies, who were standing in one place until them, as if she was forcing them to move and run away.

"Well, looks like we're safe from that CRAYzy mare for now," stated Riley, "but what'll we do about our current forms?" He then shrugged, and began trotting around and rolling on the floor, giggling like a colt. Stop that, you fool! We have an actual problem here! his mind scolded him. So Riley got back up. "Listen, I'm guessing all you unicorns have diminished magic ability now. And even if you were your true ages, you probably don't know an age spell. So here's my plan. We walk to Twilight's library, explain the situation to her, and she can change us back!"

He saw one by one jumping out of the window. Some look nervous, others looking annoyed. Riley comes to an idea, to tell Twilight what is going on.

 

"Good plan. We have to tell Twilight, what happened, before they catch us or something else going happen. We should move, now."

Once Ariel was certain that each foal in the group had made it out safely, the cushion that broke their fall flickered out of existence; for it hadn't been an actual cushion she had summoned, but rather a construct of her own magic. Afterwards, she held her hoof to her head, feeling the sort of headache that all unicorns got whenever they overexerted their magical ability. As a grown mare, maintaining such a simple construct would have been an easy task - but as things were, it took a lot out of her. Heck, she was lucky she was able to use magic at all in this young body.

 

But she had no time to complain of her headache, nor was she inclined to say anything, anyway. There were more important things to worry about. Her ears flicked up when Riley mentioned Twilight. She'd had the chance to meet the young princess before. Of course, at the time, she had just recently arrived in this timeline, and had an anxiety attack when meeting the recently ascended alicorn made her realize that she was quite far from home - but that was besides the point. She was familiar with Twilight, she knew Twilight could probably help, so she said, "Yeah... that sounds like a good idea."

Joyfire was trotting nervously around, waiting for other ponies to make up their minds.

When Riley first mentioned Twilight, she immediately switched her attention to Riley speaking. Of course, she had heard of that mare before, the mare that miraculously became an alicorn and received the title "Princess of Friendship". /Pffft, princess of friendship my flank/ thought Joyfire to herself.

"Twilight you say? That princess of "friendship"? And how exactly will she help us? Try to fix this with her "elements" of "harmony"? As if she would take away her precious princess time and deal with a group of fillies and colts... But then again, she has a huge library, those books, by contrast, have some real value, and we can gain from the knowledge they contain. LET'S GO!" Joyfire shouted the last sentence, excited that they will finally get to do something significant about their current state.

When Star Ruby heard Riley mention Twilight she knew it was a good idea. She had heaved herself off the mattress and looked at everypony. Twilight would be able to fix their problems and then she could finally get back to her normal life. Star Ruby had to convince everyone that this was a good idea though.

"HEY EVERYBODY!" She waved her hooves in the air trying to get their attention. "LISTEN TO RILEY. HE'S RIGHT!"

Riley high-fived Star Ruby. "Good. Now let's get rolling!" he said, took out his map from hammerspace, because that's just how cartoon physics work. He lead the way.

 

Eventually, the group came across a restaurant. Neatly trimmed bushes surrounded it, and they were just inches taller than the kids' heads. Riley saw a full-grown pony at a nearby table. She was white, with a dark grey mane done up in double braids, and she wore a white cap. Riley's face went pale, and he hid his face in his hooves.

 

"Anala," he whispered. "She's here." He then realised he would need to explain. "Well, the truth is... I really like her. I've secretly had a crush on her since we met in school. I-I can't let her see me like this, she'll laugh at me!"

 

(OOC: Okay, real talk here, Riley? If she finds amusement in your problems and emotions, she's probably not worth your time.)

Gloom was following the group without a word while he was still stewing with anger. When Riley stopped and started talking about some mare he got pretty annoyed. He sheathed his knife, that was still in his mouth and out it in his bag and walked up next to Riley. "Why are you acting like such a candy arse about some mare who ain't even that cute? I think we got worst things to worry about more then you getting laughed at by some a lass who would most likely laugh at ya anyway as soon as she got a look at your 'two bits'." He said as he dug into his bag, pulled out his pack of cigarettes and put one in his mouth to light with his copper lighter that he also dug out.

Riley got increasingly ticked off as Gloomfury went on, calling Anala "ain't even that cute", and then calling him "candy arse", and making fun of his "two bits", which Riley knew exactly what it was a synonym for. He wanted to punch Gloomfury, but was scared at the sight of his knife.

 

"Oh, yeah? I bet you're jealous that I'm friends with her. I bet nobody stood up for you in school. I bet you don't have anyone to play soccer with," he replied.

Ariel looked at both Riley and Gloom, biting her lip anxiously as her ears folded back. "P... Please don't fight..." she pleaded; she had a strong dislike of conflict of any sort, fights especially. Even if it wasn't much of anything at this point in time, she desperately didn't want it to escalate into anything worse.

 

Her eyes were pleading as she looked at them. But, almost unconsciously, she eyed the cigarette Gloom had for a moment; thinking for a brief second how she disliked cigarettes and the smoke that accompanied them. The next thing she knew, the tip of her horn was glowing, and a tiny burst of telekinetic force flicked the cigarette out of his mouth.

 

She squeaked as she immediately shrank away. "O-Oh, no, I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to!" she said quickly. She had forgotten that when she was young, she still had fleeting moments of uncontrolled magic, up until the point when she had found her cutie mark; and this had been one of those moments. She was cowering before Gloom even reacted, preemptively fearing his wrath.

Joyfire was shocked when she saw the two ponies argue over something as useless as a high school crush right now. She couldn't process the fact that they found that more important at the moment than doing something about their current situation.

"That's it! I've had enough of this!" said Joyfire.

She immediately grabbed Riley and pushed him towards the direction of Twilight's library, thus making Riley easily seen by Anala.

Gloom gave Riley a hollow look and chuckles. "Me jealous of you?" He let out a mocking laugh. " You wish you little chicken shite. But you were right about one thing. When you're the only pony in a school full of griffins you're usually the target of ridicule. And sports are a waste of..." @@Miss Reaper, That was when a shot of magic knocked his cigarette out his mouth. He looked over to Ariel with a very angry look. But when he saw her cowering his face turned into worry. What not a lot of ponies know about Gloom is that he was a sucker for kids, mostly fillies. When he saw the way she looked at him with fear... it made him feel like a monster. Gloom hated that look.  He slowly turned to her and gave a smile. "It's alright, I was meaning to cut back on smoking anyway."

Rising look, what the other fillies are doing, but stay in distance. He try to find a way to the library, without trouble. But the direct way looks mayby the best way. He is still unsure about the situation and that they all are fillies now ... let's hope, it has no other effects.

 

"Cut it out, all of you! We have to find a way, not fight each other about everything now. We got way more problems then crushes, cigarettes and other things. Nopony has to meet the others again, when we are done, so just let us find a way to the library without any trouble, okay?"

"Okay everyone, no smoking!" Star Ruby yelled. "We look like kids to the adults!"

"Um, Riley, she's just a girl and she might not even recognize you! Besides there are other girls." Star Ruby told him. She looked at one pony who had the cigarette in his mouth. The one pony who's name was Ariel had teleported it out. That was good thinking too. Anybody who would catch him with it would arrest him for smoking too young.

"We have to get to Twilight's! No distractions, NO smoking, NO whining! We have to do this! But Riley, if you really think she'll see you, we could hide you. Ariel can help me break up a bush and we'll put you in it. Then we sneak past, if you have a problem."

Joyfire went to shove Riley, but he was alert to it and so pushed back.

 

It was then that Rising Shine and Star Ruby put Riley and Gloomfury into place, strictly telling them to stop fighting and get a move on.

 

Then Star Ruby explained that she and Ariel could hide Riley with the help of a broken bush.

 

"That would be great, thanks," replied Riley.

"Alright then, I'll break up this bush and Ariel can help me put it on top of you." Star Ruby said and lighted up her horn with magic. The bush got ripped straight up out of the ground and flew straight up into the air.

"Oops." Star Ruby had forgotten that she was still a young pony and her magic would be kind of wacky. She tried moving it downward slowly, but it the magic slammed into down into Riley pushing riley inside of it when it fell on him.

"Oops again. Sorry riley." Star Ruby apologized.

Riley spat twigs and leaves out of his mouth. "Its fine," he said. "It's actually pretty impressive that you can pull bushes from the ground. Not that I condone harming the environment, I just admire your magic skill." He then tried to use the bush as a disguise as he had intended... but wasn't sure where to start. "So... how do I go about doing this?" he asked, to nopony in particular.

Star Ruby tapped her chin.

"Hmm, I guess we could circle around you sort of and you walk very slowly to pretend there isn't a walking bush here? Or maybe we could distract her and you run past?" Star Ruby offered but she really had no clue. Having the bush on was one thing but getting him past was another. Walking bushes weren't normal.
