Don't you know why? Tube socks... they are the sexiest of the socks.

It's basic human behavior. Adding some small clothing article to something that's already naked, somehow emphases how the rest of the body is naked, thus exoticizing it, or making it "sexy." The stripes here simply emphasize that it's not body coloring.
