About this blog

I'll mostly just be talking about anything that interests me. And when I say that, I mean what's going on in the gaming, comic, and TV/Movie community. Mostly video games, though :3

Lindsay Lohan Sues Rockstar Games

As many of you know, this is a blog mostly centered around what's currently happening in the gaming community or my opinions that nobody could really care to see. Though, today, I'm gonna talk about a matter that just seems really stupid to me. Everyone knows about the record-breaking success of Grand Theft Auto V. However, there was one mission in particular that led me to today's Geekasm. In a certain Strangers and Freaks mission for Franklin, you're suppose to took a snapshot of a red-headed

Why Platforming Gaming Should be Focused on More During the Next Generation

Before going into this, I will state right off the bat that I know that some people won't agree with me. I'm just going by what I think. Platformers are my favorite video game genre, and I just feel they should be focused on a lot more during this next generation of consoles. Now, I'm gonna be really frank; I don't the like the truckload of FPS's and shooting games of the such that we get nowadays. I understand that they're the big money-makers these days, but I honestly think that there is an

Nintendo and Third-Party Companies

There are three console manufacturers in the world; Microsoft, Sony, and my personal favorite, Nintendo. Though, I've noticed something; whenever a new game comes out, Microsoft and Sony always seem to get the better versions. All the while, Nintendo seems to get the short end of the stick every time. I find that very offensive. I mean, sure, Nintendo is meant to be for people of all ages and Microsoft and Sony are meant for the more mature gaming crowd. Still, that's no reason to downgrade Nin

Rayman Games Nowadays

Hey, guys. Sorry for the infrequent blogging. I've just kind of been busy with life, and other things going on around the forums. Plus, I think I kind of come down with something. So, I'm gonna try to keep today's entry short and sweet by explaining my feelings on the Rayman games being made today. I just need to get some sleep. So, I'll go back a few years to Rayman Origins. For those who haven't played it, Rayman Origins is a 2-D side-scrolling platformer adventure released on the Xbox 360, P

GTA Online

I'm gonna be completely honest; the first time I played Grand Theft Auto, I absolutely LOATHED it. It's not that I hated playing it. I hated it because it wouldn't LOAD. I'm serious, I was on that "Searching for a session" screen for nearly half an hour. So, after that, I just gave up and decided to finish the main game before I try again. Now that I've done that, I went back to try Online last night. And, I gotta say, I've REALLY been missing out. This multiplayer is probably one of my favorit

Why Comics Tell Better Stories than Video Games or TV Shows

Two of my most favorite video game franchises ever are Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man. I love the games, the TV shows (Well, some of them at least) and I collect the action figures. I love a lot of video game franchises, but I honestly think you can't go wrong with these two. However, there's also the comic books based off of these two franchises. Both are made by Archie Comics and both share pretty much the same art style. I may love the games, but honestly, I don't think they even compare to

Wisp Use in Sonic Lost World

Remember the colorful wisps from Sonic Colors (Or Colours in Canada and Europe?) If not, let me remind you. The wisps were items Sonic could grab to help his advance in the stage. These include the rocket, lazer, and drill wisps. They were the main gimmick of the game and they were pretty fun to use. Lost World brought them back, along with some new ones. However, the wisp use in Colors is infinitely better than in this. The wisps are either unresponsive, a pain in the butt to aim or steer, jus

Tragedy Struck Where I Live...

Me and my best friend, Super2379, live in the same area code. Yesterday, over a dozen twisters swept through, demolishing everything in their paths. One thing it demolished was Super's two cousins. When me and him met up today, he was awestruck. When he told me what happened, I felt the same way. Right now, I'm hoping for my aunt to be alive. She lived close to where the twisters struck and I hope she's okay. Though, I can't really say the same for Super's cousins. Please, show your support to

Portal Problems.

Well shit. I don't know if this is happening to any of you guys, but I've been having some major issues with playing the user-generated maps in Portal 2. The same problems occur even if I start up the single player mode. These problems are also existent in the original Portal. You see, whenever I select a mode, generally, it takes me to the loading screen. Once it loads all the way, the game simply crashes. These problems didn't occur when I first played the game last weekend. I don't know whet

The Holidays Are Coming!

You know what that means? It means that the video game industry is going to be showing off their newest titles! It's one of my favorite parts of the holiday season, actually. That and spending time with family. A few games I'm looking forward to playing are Sonic Lost World, WWE 2K14 (I follow the WWE games faithfully,) Pikmin 3, and so on. I'm still torn between a Wii U and PS4. I'm simply just thinking about getting the Wii U and getting all of the other games through Steam or something. Anyw

Starting to Play Portal

I'm gonna be completely honest, guys; until this weekend... I've never played Portal. I know that sounds crazy coming from a guy that loves video games, but I've honestly just been avoiding it. That was until Steam struck again with it's deals. Both Portal and Portal 2 were going for 6.24 US dollars as a bundle. How could I refuse? So, I ended up buying it. Now, I'm going to look to see what all the fuss is about. That's nice, Wheatly.

Torn Between Systems

We all know what's coming out before the holiday season; The Xbox One and the Playstation 4. I've already concluded that I'm not getting the Xbone, but I'm torn between the Wii U and the Playstation 4. There are so many games I want for the Wii U, such as Sonic Lost World, Super Mario 3D World, and Pikmin 3. Though, I know that there are plenty of games that're going to come, such as inFAMOUS Second Son, The Order: 1884, and others. Jeez, so much to choose from...

Things are changing on my end

Perhaps some of you have noticed my lack of entries on this blog. Believe me, guys. It's not that I forget to post. I honestly just can't find anything in the gaming community at the moment for me to talk about. The only thing that would be worth talking about right now is Mine Con. But I honestly don't care much about Minecraft to begin with. For now on, my entries are not going to come in at a consistent rate. They'll come in whenever something comes up that I want to talk about. Don't worry,

Video Games: Then and Now

Today, I was having a conversation with my good friend, Shyflutters. We were talking about video games and he asked me about what console I was getting. I said the Wii U and I named off a couple of games I wanted for the system. One of them was Splinter Cell: Blacklist. He stopped me right there and he said that the game was a shame to the series. The Splinter Cell series is centered around stealth-based gameplay, where in this game, he said that if you're caught, you can pretty much just gun yo

Sonic Lost World: Highly Questionable Changes (After Playing the Demo)

On the same day I got Arkham Origins, I also played the demo to Sonic Lost World. I've mentioned before that I've been looking forward to this game. But, after finally playing it for the first time, I've discovered that SEGA has made some highly questionable changes that, let's just say, I'm not a fan of. First of all, Sonic's speed has been terribly butchered. You have to hold down the right trigger in order for Sonic to actually run fast. If you don't, Sonic will jog at a speed slower than th

First Impressions: Batman Arkham Origins (Warning: SPOILERS (duh))

Yesterday, I finally got my hands on Arkham Origins. This is a game I've had my sights set on for a long time now, since July, in fact. When I finally picked this game up at my local Wal-mart, my copy was in it's entirety, complete with the Deathstroke DLC and everything. When I popped this game in, I was taken right to the action. In the past two games, there was usually a cutscene at the beginning. There's a cutscene here, too, but it's extremely short. Once it's done, Batman goes to Arkham A

Sonic Lost World Comes Out Today!

Today is the day that Sonic Lost World comes out in North America. None of you have any idea how long I've waited for this day. I will just say right now that Sonic the Hedgehog is my favorite video game franchise out there, despite the ups and downs and all-arounds. This is one game I'm definitely getting my hands on as soon as possible. You go, Sonic :3

The Mighty No.9 Project

I guess I'm a little late on finding out about this thing. About a couple of months ago, Capcom announced one of their newest projects; Mighty No.9. This thing, I assume, is meant to help Mega Man fans find some shred of life in the Mega Man series. I mean, there hasn't been a real Mega Man game since Mega Man 9 and 10 on Xbox Live and such. I see some really big potential for this project, actually. I think it's about time for Capcom's Blue Bomber to make some form of return.

Sonic Boom: This Picture

I know this is just concept art, but when I saw this picture, my jaw almost hit the floor. As far as I'm concerned, Tails and Amy's models are okay. Although, the two models I'm concerned with are Sonic and Knuckles' models, especially Knuckles' model. Sonic seriously needs to take a comb to his quills. In fact, upon seeing the shadows, his model reminded me of Crash Bandicoot a little bit. Now, Knuckles. Knuckles is meant to be a powerhouse, I get that. But, this model doesn't sit well with me

There are literally MLP FIM gamer tags on Xbox Live available for purchase. When I firs t found this out, I was a bit surprised. Someone over at the Microsoft Corporation is a brony? I didn't see that coming. I might get a pack of these, but I'm likely just going to stick with Sonic or Batman. (Thanks, Ditzy, f

IGN Sonic Lost World Review: Proving my Point

In the past review IGN has given Sonic games, I have a personal theory that someone over there has a huge vendetta against the Blue Blur. I think their review on Sonic Lost World proves my point at least a little bit. Think I'm wrong? Do tell me why. I'll read it. Review: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/18/sonic-lost-world-review

The Werehog Stages in Sonic Unleashed

I'm sure plenty of Sonic fans like me have played Sonic Unleashed at one point. The game is said to be the beginning of the heal from Sonic 06, and it shows. I loved Sonic's daytime stages, and I enjoyed the werehog stages... to an extent. In the first half of the game, they seemed pretty awesome to me. I liked this new approach they were taking with Sonic. Yeah, the werewolf thing is a bit of a cliche, but it's still interesting to have Sonic play like this. But, by the time I got to the seco

Imagine Dragons and Infinity Blade 3

You know the band 'Imagine Dragons?' The band that made the song 'Radioactive?' Well, they actually made the main them to the newest installment in the popular Infinity Blade series. The song is called 'Monster.' Link's in the bottom of the post. I also heard that Infinity Blade will soon be getting a PC release. I bet Valve is gonna be ALL OVER that with Steam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhSA9H9Iaqw

Mobile Gamers

There are plenty of handheld systems like the 3DS and PS Vita, but there is another breed of handheld gaming; Apple products. I play games on Apple devices from time to time, but I mostly just stick to games like Mario, Sonic, GTA, and that sort of thing. But, I know people who call themselves gamer... but mobile games on Apple products are all they play. Personally, if all someone plays is games on Apple devices, I don't consider them a gamer. Though, I know a lot of people who think otherwise.
