First Impressions: Smash Bros. 3DS Demo
So, the Smash Bros. 3DS demo is finally here; the general public's first taste of Smash 4. What do I think of it? It's really good. I was worried about playing Smash on a small screen, but it plays really well. It's smooth and it's fast; the fighters move at a constant 60 FPS. The controls are perfect; every action is mapped to the right button. I had a little difficulty pulling off smash attacks at first, but I've got it down no.
Overall, it's a ton of fun, and SSB4 could be the best Smash yet, based on the demo.
As for the two new characters that are playable, Villager and Mega Man, I enjoy. They both have very unique playstyles, especially the Villager. Mega Man really does feel like Mega Man; a lot of care and detail was put in to him, I feel. Villager, as I said, is a very different sort of character; I haven't played as him much, (most of my playtime has gone to Mario, Mega Man, and Link) but I definitely got that vibe. He takes a lot of strategy to pull off, I think.
It looks great, especially for the 3DS. The fact that there's little to no slowdown is especially impressive.
To conclude, the Smash Bros. 3DS demo is very good, and it's exciting taste of what's coming on October 3rd. Expect a review of the full game next month! Thanks for reading! ^-^
