I hope not. I like to think of it as the new pokemon. It was phenomenal at first, but will settle down as an average fandom. There are other parallels; pokemon was considered as a "Fad" when it was first popular, now it is considered a generally accepted and overall decent series. So, hopefully this gen's popularity lasts much longer.

Well, I can say this much, I've met 3 pegasisters and a brony at my workplace since I started two months ago, and pony merchandise at our local Hot Topic has become so popular that they're expanding the pony section. This is in the extremely conservative and somewhat anti-brony environment of the Midwest.

Thanks for disspelling the "fandom is dying" argument, I'm getting very tired of hearing it.

I think most of the folks who say the fandom is dying are noticing that some of the famous artists and musicians are becoming inactive and then aren't seeking out new content to fill the void. For example, one of my favorite ask pony tumblrs, Rainbow Dash's Mailbag, shut down this last month. I could have just gotten mad and said "Oh look, the fandom is dead, I'm leaving!", but instead I took the initiative to look for a new tumblr to follow and found Horse Wife, which is just as good as Mailbag was, if not more so. It's all about perspective, unfortunately most people would rather rage on the internet and be generally depressing than they would take the initiative to see the good things that are happening.

Thank you for the video. I've actually been looking into this, but I've never been able to find a recent discussion about it. Some people think that because the fascination behind Bronies is cooling off that the show is becoming less popular. I can't help but wonder if this correct, even if by a very slim amount. The magic behind this show is gone for me; now I just consider it another good cartoon. I bet my feelings regarding the show are the same for plenty others and that they have left the fandom because of this, but the number of new Bronies makes up for the loses, I don't know.

You brought up a really interesting point when you mentioned alternative ways to watch the show. I never watch TV, so Dailymotion has been very convenient for when I occasionally watch the show. :)

I'm curious where the fandom will be 3-4 years from now. I imagine the show will be over in that time period.

Wouldn't really matter to me if it were. I like what I like because I like it, not because everyone does.
