What is up with everyone bashing on the staff?

So, as I have returned only a week ago, I have come to see something brewing within the community.

I have seen many members making status updates and posts on threads commenting about "How bad the mod staff is", and "How lazy they are."

Who exactly do you guys think you are doing this to the staff?

Have you forgotten that the members of the staff aren't robots. They are men and women (If there are still women, I have forgotten), with lives and things to do.

They ARE here to help the community, but now bow to our every whim.

Sure, they may not respond to support tickets as soon as you want.

But do YOU get things done for others in seconds when you're busy?

Or do you do things that are important to you first.

The mod staff are people, and you guys are taking advantage of them. They want to help, yet so many of you guys insist on calling them such awful names, and making them seem less than reputable people.

Honestly, it shames me a little bit.

No matter where you go, mod staff's will never be perfect. But they ARE trying.

So lay off of them, and let them do their JOB.

If you have problems, submit your tickets, and just be patient.

It's not that difficult.

I agree 100%
The staff are getting pushed around way to much. It leads me to wonder if the people getting angry at them even consider the fact that there are only so many people around that can handle the problems at hand. They are in no position to answer every support ticket that anybody throws in right away.

A priority option within the support ticket system may work, but then there's the issue of people simply not using it correctly.

(Chigs is the only female staff, if I'm not mistaken :V)

I agree though, I complained about them before, not being lazy or anything, but the way they were handling things about the warning system, and how'd they just ban hammer all threads that seem to bring up a same idea, like the chatroom, or the RP posts :v

"What is up with it?" I would think you would have enough experience to know that people are going to complain even if things are close to their perception of perfect.

If the moderators take longer than the member expected them to reply to their ticket, they will complain that it took too long. However, if they respond too fast, the member will complain that their ticket was rushed and that the moderator didn't get enough time fully evaluate it.

The person at fault in this situation is quite obviously, the member. This will not change though, people will always find something to complain about. Not trying to sound rude, just the truth. Also, happy holidays; I haven't had a visit here in a while.

Oh boi. I'm honored Dragonshy. Come back and comment on my blog xD

Yes, I am aware it's a natural thing.

But you know me.

When something annoys me, it becomes vocal.

I have nothing with the staff yet and think they are doing an excellent job. They are human and are bound to miss things or catch things they have missed before, and I definatley respect how much time they are putting into this forums. So no I have nothing against the mods.

This current staff is awesome so idk where the complaints are coming from. Most of the time the members who do the complaining usually are the ones who deserved it, be it mod queue or w/e.

The previous staff....ehhhhh, let's just say some changes were needed and they were made eventually.

'To be honest, it's a rubbish job that involves a fair bit of stress and work. You don't want to be a moderator.'~FAQ

Truer words were never typed.

This stuff is sadly inevitable, and can never be gotten rid of completely, and it'll always be that way. Best to move on.

I agree, too, the mods should get more respect than now. (But IMO not too much respect/treating them like God, 'cause they're people. And not...God.)

The only time I received warning points from a mod, I didn't care much, really, and I never held a grudge against him. It's 15 points though, lol. And I appreciate the fact that my support tickets, at least, get answered in a day at most.

But I have a complaint (sort of unrelated) that one person is being taken as the majority again. Spazzy may have gotten annoyed but he certainly isn't "many members." He's feeling terrible right now, and although some of you may think he deserves it, I don't. I doubt one blog of one person's actions is necessary, even though I agree with what you said.

Clarity, you're acting as if my opinion matters at all.

I'm no mod, I'm not an important member.

I'm just some guy making a blog about my thoughts.

Of course it isn't necessary. But it is my blog, is it not?

And I have seen a number of people. Not just spastic.

It's never about one person.

I was a moderator once on an anime site and it is not all it is cracked up to be, when they say you don't want that job I think they mean it. I got caught up in internal political nonsense, got sick of it resigned my post as a moderator and never came back there again. I think being a moderator here might not be as bad but then again I could be wrong, this site is a lot bigger than that one was and the bigger a place is the harder it is to maintain. But there aren't as many jerks here as there was there though.

Funnily enough I never the bashing when I was a staff member but I guess I should cherish the thought rather than wonder about it. Being a mod is tough.

i have a big problem if people are pushing around the staff here  grr.  they are doing the best they can.  anyway i think they are doing a fine job!  the staff here are awesome  because they don't judge you based on your likes and dislikes.

'Cause people will scapegoat on anything to bitch and complain. The easiest target is authority figures since they're the most important and have duties that they need to fill.

I for one respect authority. There are in place to maintain and control the general population. Without them, this forum would descend into chaos. We are very lucky to have them. Can you imagine what it would be like if Feld0 had just turned the site on, left it running, and only checked in once in a while, and had never hired anyone to take care of anything? Actually, that would be quite hilarious...
