US States Tier List -Updated-

Here No Longer

This was a top 10 list with lengthy explanations for each choice, but then I realized that it would be way too much of a hassle to get through the rest of it, so have this tier list instead. I'd rather not deal with just having a perpetually unfinished list and not really being able to do what I had otherwise planned to without it weighing me down. Not to mention, I'd pretty much just be repeating myself with different statistics and a different dumb line at the end so it isn't a wall of facts, and I'd have to rearrange the list to keep up with certain things. Also your welcome Mr. Nitpick (that grammatical error is there on purpose). This list is primarily based on statistics, though there is a little bit of personal bias here and there.

S+: None

S-: Washington, New Hampshire, Vermont

A+: Colorado, Hawaii, Iowa, Virginia, Nebraska, Utah, Idaho

A-: Minnesota, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Wisconsin

B+: Florida, South Dakota, Delaware, Oregon, North Dakota, Rhode Island

B-: North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Montana, Wyoming, New Jersey

C+: Indiana, Illinois, New York, Maine, Nevada, Pennsylvania, South Carolina

C-: Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Arkansas, Tennessee, California, Kentucky

D+: Arizona, West Virginia, Mississippi, New Mexico, Alaska

D-: Louisiana, Alabama

Washington D.C.: D+ (It's not a state, I know, why it's not on the actual list)

Changes:

Utah (-1): I didn't entirely take into account the bias this state has for Mormons.

Hawaii (-2): Tulsi's beginning to make her state look a lot worse with how she keeps cozying up to the right for no real reason... Starting to think she should have ran as a moderate Republican, because at times she actually sounds like one... She's definitely not a progressive like she pretends to be sometimes. Also Washington has moved down a tier, because I'm really losing faith in the country as a whole.

@PiratePony I did, but I was less informed about it. It's sort of an update. I'm in the process of more explaining my choices while of course voicing my opinion with a degree of description.

Like I never thought New Mexico sucked THAT bad.

You may want to add "(UPDATED)" or something to the title, then.

That's very nitpicky, plus it's not even really the same list.

I'm curious what you would rate the US territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa)

Don't actually have enough knowledge about the statistics on those, and I'm not really familiar with them like in the case of DC (it sucks).

Feelssadman that my state is rated D- by you

I mean Lousiana is a corrupt, violent hellhole and Alabama is a far right easily offended hellhole, so I feel quite justified in putting them both that low...

I mean I live in Texas and I put that in C-.

Any opinion on the state of New York if the hypothetical split happened?

I don't like what sounds to be the reasons why New York would want to split, but otherwise I don't have much of an opinion there to be honest.

What’s wrong with DC? Too expensive to live in, horribly humid summer weather, the crime? Or something political related?

DC is very liberal and you rated liberal states quite high, as well as the surrounding states of MD and VA, so I’m a bit confused.

Combination of price, crime, bad weather, and it pretty much by default being the most corrupt city in the nation.

DC is not nearly the most expensive city, most dangerous city, or most humid city though

Well I guess all states can at least have cheaper, safer, or nicer weather areas. I guess it’s not really fair to judge a city by the same criteria as a state.

I see you also ranked Hawaii quite high. :)

Hawaii is actually a fantastic place to live. It is a bit pricey and they do get a good few natural disasters, but otherwise the place is actually quite great.

Though Tulsi is ruining it by caving to the right. :okiedokieloki:

I do like how yo put Iowa and Nebraska as A+ yet these states are extremely conservative. Though we are "right" I guess we are not FAR "right" like Alabama and Louisiana.

Iowa really isn't that much of a right-wing state the way I see it and Nebraska generally has good stats across the board. I really did not make this list with the intent of playing politics.

Lousiana's problem isn't about right, left, authoritarian, or libertarian, it's crime and corruption. It SUCKS to live there, period. As for Alabama, it's downright inhospitable for LGBT people like myself.
