"Well, it has been ten years of fun, but it may be time to truly close this book."

You may not know me, but there's a very high change I do know you, dear reader. After all, my memory is fairly big, and I always remember people even if I only talked to them one time.

 

In 2018 I wrote a blog post where I detailed my feelings towards these forums, and how I wished to move on towards greener pastures due to diminishing returns of enjoyment within this place, not due to anyone in specific, but due to my ever changing mind. I would be gone for two years, before coming back and reprising my role as a MLPForums Moderator due to being asked to come back by a certain somebody, but in a more subdued manner when compared to my pre-2018 days, taking on a silent role behind the scenes, even if the forums were no longer the active place I remember them once being.

But now, in the year 2023, I don't feel like my presence is needed any longer. Since I came back, I got to see a new generation of people take on the reins of the staff, people that truly care in a way many others before didn't, and that try to nurture this community back to life. It truly makes me happy to see that type of passion...

 

On the last blog, I did say a permanent goodbye to everyone. This time though, I won't make the same mistake, maybe we'll see each other again? Or maybe I'll be dragged by Hugoholic once more to staff around :P Until then, try to grow strong, MLPForums. I believe in you.

Yes. We all do. 
But I do wish greener pastures for you. So I am split on this one. In either case, please take care o friend of the good people of the forums. 
 

or maybe we will simply tie you to a chair to keep you longer. We’ll see how we feel. :toldya:

What a decade it's been! It's amazing to see the transformations within this community and how you've been a part of its evolution. Your dedication as a moderator and your love for this space are truly commendable.

Knowing you're considering moving on leaves a bittersweet feeling. Your presence has been a bright thread in this tapestry of experiences. The way you've described the newer generation taking the reins is incredibly heartening. It's a testament to the resilience and passion of this community.

Your optimism and belief in the future are inspiring. It's hard not to wish for more time with someone who has contributed so much. If only there were a way to freeze these moments a bit longer!

I never talked to you or met you as far as I can remember but I've seen you around here for years.  I only wish you the best in what you decide to pursue in your time away from the forums. I am sure something better out there awaits you. Stay safe, and don't give up!

This is certainly one of sad highlights of the day to me. 

But with that being said I do wish you best and thank you for always being a good and supportive friend. I do hope your future will bring many wonders and hope to see you back eventually c:

It's been a pleasure having you here, Lightwing. Even as minimal as our interactions were, I'll cherish every one of them. You brought a lot of joy (and shipping) to this forum, and it won't quite be the same without you.

I wish you well in wherever life takes you and hope for the best. But never forget that if you need a friend or some nostalgia, you know where to find us. :)

Hello, @Lightwing. This year when I and a bunch of others stepped up to become new mods, we never thought another would be stepping down. When I do my duties, I shall be mindful of all that came before me. Thank you for laying the ground work.
