The most historically inaccurate movie ever?!

In history class, we were talking about Pocahontas. Not just the movie, but the actual person. Believe me, Disney got a LOT wrong. Someone brought up the fact that there was a Pocahontas 2. And yes, there is. But it's even LESS accurate than the first! So I said to him, "Yeah! You could honestly call it Pocahontas 2: The Lie Continues." That made my history teachers day. Anyways, thanks for reading! Post your questions in the comments below and they may get featured in the Q&A blog post! And, as always, I will see you all in the next blog entry!

Abraham...Lincoln.....Vampire....Hunter.

That's probably more historically inaccurate.

Because we all know that communism rose in Russia... because a mystic used demons to make the "oh so happy" serfs angry at the czar.  Of course.

But I do agree, Pocahontas is kinda crap.  I hold a personal grudge against it mostly because it marked the beginning of the end of the golden age of the Disney Renaissance in the 90's.  Fun fact: Pocahontas and The Lion King were actually produced at the same time, and Disney's execs were betting on POCAHONTAS being the next smash success, NOT Lion King.  As a result, Disney execs interfered a lot more in Pocahontas's production and left Lion King's producers alone for the most part.  Guess that says a lot about "studio meddling", huh?

It's a Disney Movie!

It isn't going to be accurate, and it doesn't need to be.If they were to make it 100% accurate then they most certainly wouldn't have a quality movie for all ages to watch and enjoy.

Just look at Mulan.

 2 words and an acronym:

FDR... American... Badass.

Because polio is totally caused by werewolf bites. And werewolves started WWII, right?

Right, I'd have to say a certain American Civil War movie from way back when. It actually has a HELICOPTER in one of the scenes flying over the shot. I guess they forgot to crop it out, or didn't see it. Either way, it's bloody hilarious

Yeah, but the major key difference between the execution of the movies is that Mulan is good while Pocahontas is kinda mediocre.

Pocahontas is viewed as mediocre? I always thought most people loved it.

I love both Pocahontas 1 and 2, personally.

Loving and hating it deals with personal preference. Good, average, mediocre, or bad deals with the objective quality of the movie itself.

To this day, I still like Pocahontas, but it's factually a poor movie simply because it tells a real-life tale so inaccurately. Movies like Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Princess and the Frog, and Mulan are okay to twist it up because they're fairy tales and folktales. On the other hand, when you're inaccurately telling a story of something that happened in real life, then it gets rather personal, and that's what happened with Pocahontas.

The Dark Knight Rises

I found out it wasn't really that historically accurate. Which to be honest, pisses me off.

"Lee Daniels' The Butler" is wildly inaccurate. The man did not quit to join his son in the civil rights battle because he hated Ronald Reagan. He retired, and there is actual real life footage of Nancy Reagan giving him a loving hug on his last day of work. There are also photographs circulating of the real man sitting in his home, with a framed autographed picture of Ronald Reagan prominently displayed on the wall. Would you keep a picture of a man you hated hanging on your wall? Neither man nor son had anything to do with civil rights issues. His mother was not gang raped, and his father was not murdered. His wife wasn't a drunk that left him. He was happily married for decades.
