    So I'm in this train themed restaurant that's playing Thomas and friends. I know that show has a following here, butim reminded of why I never got into that show growing up. Those faces. Creepiest thing ever.

    I back from the WWII reenactment. Turns out it was pretty big. Tanks and artillery but no planes. There was this big strong ass guy there named Jerry Dunnel or Sgt. Tom Weir. The next reenactment my cousin is taking me to is Battle of Kursk. Hope its as much fun as this one was.

      I first learned of living history at a military show that came to Cork five years ago. I thought they were private groups or simply a bunch of friends that got together to host this thing. It wasn't until a year later that I learned one could actually join these groups, and naturally, I was hooked. So, to this day I'm keeping in contact with the Commandos, and hopefully one day I will join this large, and very dedicated family of his...

      Well I'll be doggone.......that makes two of us! I'm a big history nerd as well, and I also love to watch living history at work. I'm actually looking to join a German group based off the Brandenburg Commandos. I've met them a few times, very sound blokes who are happy to take me on. It's just the matter of getting to their events and cobbling a uniform together that is the problem at present, and where I live, it is NOT easy to get a uniform from the war.
