      Well according to Secret of my Excess the only way Spike can get older is if he succumbs to greed so I don't know is he going to be a baby Dragon forever?

      The only thing that was confirmed was that he grows giant if his greed goes out of control. I personally believe that if Spike keeps his greed under check, he'll grow and age at a much more natural pace. (Remember the teenage dragons? They were teenagers, but they weren't giant like Spike was.)

       

      Perhaps the emotions associated with greed causes magical hormones to go out of whack or something.
