  1. Monkshood @@Tricksters Pride, @@AnonBrony Monkshood grew furious at Dorado's pompous behaviour. The pony flaunted it around constantly it seemed, much to his chagrin. Acting as if this behaviour was a badge of pride, trying to coax both name and product from him. What right did he have to make such demands, and yet his business could prove to be a boon to him. Heavily sighing, Monkshood took a deep breath in and began to rub his forehead in frustration. His voice piped up in a tone clearly irritated at Dorado's insolence. "Dorado wait. Go find are hosts, and let me attend to my current business. If you can find me later we can then discuss both my terms and your need for any such 'merchandise' later today". He suspected that he would easily regret his decision, yet the chance to increase his business was too great especially with his finances in their current state.
  2. Denarius @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ The islands swayed gently over the glowing chasm. He simply let out an exaggerated sigh as Scribbler's 'bridge' began to appear. Denarius' felt relief at the sight of it, yet his outburst of emotion towards Orion was troubling him. He looked at the stallion in front of him with a set of almost perplexed eyes. The powerlessness he had felt for that brief moment was overwhelming, such an alien feeling. He was not able to remember the last time where his skill or luck seemed to have no use in a situation. This lack of power had caused such a strong sense of self-doubt within the stallion. He had faltered and failed at the first sign of trouble. Why did this bother him so much? If he was anywhere else, his failure would of been shrugged off as he re-approached the table determined evermore to succeed with each successive attempt. No, he would not succumb so readily. This time was sure to be no different than any other. Denarius' eyes regained their clarity and a grin spread across his face as he began to look forward with a new purpose set in mind. If he couldn't reach through skill, he might as well try chance. Following Orion's lead, he jumped off the bridge readily landing on a platform not far from the unicorn. "Oh c'mon, are you really so quick to give up? Why not try your chances a little. If there is no path create your own", he told Orion with a roguish smile as horn began to glow a pale sickly white light.
  3. Can I have Monkshood done? There are plenty of refs are on his character page down below in my sig. Edit: Sorry, looks I was beaten for the third spot, oh well. If I'm mistaken on your rules please tell me.
  4. Denarius @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ Orion snarled at him. Denarius rolled his eyes, such anger would probably cloud the stallion's judgement. Looking over the varying surfaces, he believed that he might be able to make it to Willow and the bug. Granted, without a way to get back with either such an effort would be truly in vain, and a waste of time. Denarius watched as the craggy stone islands swayed gently. "And how would you suggest I help? Must I remind you, that you and your 'friends' still have me at the disadvantage. If you need me to do something for you, TELL ME WHAT TO DO ORION", his carefree voice erupted with a strong passion to rival Orion's anger.
  5. Denarius @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ A thunderous roar from below. Denarius retraced his steps as he tried to gain any distance from such baleful noise. He watched in a state of shock as the land cracked, and an ominous bright light spilled forth from its depths. His eyes moved not an inch and mouth became slack-jawed at such a sight, not in horror or disgust, but in awe of such unbridled power. Was this the strength of Orion's so called Litany? They wished to conquer such a monstrosity of magical might, yet the others thought him to be foolhardy. Denarius gave the craggy landscape a smirk of enjoyment. He to wished to overcome in the insurmountable. Fortune would hopefully guide him to success, despite its fickleness he believed that it would never truly abandon him. Denarius' grinning shouted to Orion. His voice echoed throughout the valley with a ring of tenacity and satisfaction to it. "Orion, I wish to help. Do you think that you can trust me long enough to order me to do something"?
  6. Monkshood @@Tricksters Pride, @@AnonBrony Monkshood looked onwards at the mare as voice from behind beckoned the pair. It was Dorado again. If this pony was any indication, today would easily prove more tedious than the last. His gaze turned downwards as he let out an exasperated sigh. "Greetings again, I onl....", Monkshood paused and looked began looking around in a curious manner. A voice penetrated his thoughts, it was the voice of the mare. Such a curious sensation. He turned back to face Ice, yet her mouth showed no indication of movement. Intriguing, this appeared to be similar to the telepathy spell that North Shine had mentioned last night. Ice's monologue wound down as Monkshood gave a small nod to agree with her. Ice began to speak aloud, and Monkshood stood still listening. As she finished this speech, he interjected. "I would tend to agree with my friend here. Such things would be best discussed privately".
  7. Monkshood @@Tricksters Pride Monkshood's body jerked with a sudden sense of bewilderment as he quickly shifted his towards the head the voice next to him. "I apologize miss. I had partially expected to see you wandering through the marketplace. ". He began to hesitate, glancing around the market in front of him. The ponies scurried along every which way. Finally, he looked back to the mare. His eyes gleaned over her features, he hadn't really paid much heed to such details last night as they were alone for the most part, but now that she had brought mention of her own relatively plain features, it was clear that she was one that could easily be lost amongst almost any faceless crowd. "Oh yes, I'm not a pony who often likes to throw ones name around, but I'm known as Monkshood. It would be an awkward and confusing journey if we were to only refer to each other as simply Miss and Mister. What should I refer to you as miss?", he sighed as he always seemed to feel rather rusty with giving introductions.
  8. @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ Denarius eyes carefully peered over Scribbler's face, a smile crept over it. A sign of respect perhaps? Still, it was obvious that he didn't trust him. Despite the pony's apologies to him, this individual's subtle wordplay so obviously told his true feelings towards him, whether he wanted his words to or not. Clearly, he would not be swayed so readily by a few shrewd words. Even still, this show of respect was at least a start, and a welcome change from the Scribbler's somewhat prudish behaviour of earlier. Denarius flashed Scribbler a relieved grin, and strode away from the stallion. He watched as Scribbler did the same, yet his trot curved towards the unnamed mare from last night. No doubt, those two would probably wish to discuss him. After all, Denarius was still nothing more than the aberration to most within the group, it was to be expected. Chuckling softly, Denarius' eyes strayed away from the two ponies as he swayed his body back and forth casually trudging through the snow.
  9. Fallout by a fair margin, and while I do enjoy the Elder Scrolls games on occasion, Bethesda with Skyrim has seemingly removed much of the depth within the game that prior entries in the series had. After the initial experience, which I did really enjoy, much of the overall world just had a hollow feel to it, yet I can go back to F:NV or Morrowind and still frequently find interesting ways to go about the game.
  10. @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ Denarius' eyes flashed a look contentment with Orion's surprising agreement to his words. Though his words didn't seem to please Scribbler at all. It really didn't matter what the others thought as they appeared to merely follow on the coattails of Orion. While he would prefer to not be in direct contention with anypony here, but if he couldn't get the others to accept him, he could simply get Orion to accept him instead. With a slow gait, he approached Scribbler. Denarius' demeanour still had a ring of openess from Scribbler's earlier comment. "Do you think I refuse to not enjoy a situation even despite the dangers it might bring. Something usually must be ready to be sacrificed to accomplish anything. If I gamble I'm willing to lose my bits for potential greater gains. I'm well aware of the consequences, yet I can still find excitement within its unknown outcome. I think you presume that I don't, or can't, grasp any of the danger or consequences currently in front of me. Shocking, but I'm not simply an insane pony seeking enjoyment".
  11. Monkshood @@Tricksters Pride The morning sun shone through the window of inn. The room's curtains did nothing to prevent the bright morning sun from penetrating every crevice of the rather cramped room. Monkshood's eyes slowly opened, the sudden burst light stung his eyes slightly, yet they soon adjusted to it. Yawning, he had stayed out later than expected last night trying to look for various plants, yet was still missing some Datura Stramonium. Though, he was fortunate to of found a rather sizable field full of Wild Chamomile growing last night, and hoped he might possibly sell some of the flower to the mare from earlier. He rolled out of the bed with a loud 'THUD' as his body hit the wooden floor. Standing up, he felt sightly dazed, but soon regained his senses. Approaching his bags and he rustled through them, rearranging everything for the supplies he had been promised earlier. There everything was ready. Strapping on his bag, he got prepared for the day ahead. Monkshood left the inn without any fuss and begun to head towards the market in town. He had already paid for a few more days at the inn than he had expected when he'd arrived in Ponyville as he wasn't initially sure if he was to take the job or not. Though gladly, everything was seemingly worked out for him overall so far. The market was already in full motion, despite the relative freshness morning. Any other day, this would of been a pleasant to Monkshood as he would of likely attracted a multitude of customers looking for some quick cures for common ailments, but today his business would likely be put on hold. Such a shame, his funds would quickly dwindle to nothingness if any unexpected expenses were to arise during his stay. His eyes gleaned over the diverse crowd of ponies looking for the blue-maned mare from last night. Hopefully, he wouldn't be waiting for her too terribly long.
  12. @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ "Eh, you clearly have experience in despoiling any utterance of me trying to lighten a gloomy atmosphere. Bravo Scribbler", Denarius rubbed his hoof against his left temple in minor frustration, clearly displeased with Scribbler's answer. "If I'm to be with everypony and your all so intent on ruining any modicum of entertainment I get from such endeavours, I might as well be frank with you all, for once". Shifting his weight around, he moved in closer towards the group. "If any of you are currently worried about obtaining this Litany before anypony else than each of you should stop focusing on such minor trivial aspects of it. You seem so sure that you're close to obtaining it, yet become paralysed on what has already occurred. Much of your questions can be answered later, but your current focus should be to continue on", he told each of the ponies with a slightly agitated groan and a roll of the eyes.
  13. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain Monkshood's face contorted at the question. He was not one to bandy his name around so frivolously as he had caused more than a few 'embarrassments', due to his eccentricities, at many of the areas he had visited. Granted, if he was to be working with these ponies for any period of time he would eventually have to tell them. Inhaling, he felt the cold air fill his lungs before finally speaking up. "My name is Monkshood, and there is no need for thanks. I really should get use to helping others if we're to travel together". He looked around the sky seemed blackened beyond recognition tonight through his eyes. It was getting late, and he wouldn't have any time to gather even the most minute of supplies if we was to continue conversing. "I'm sorry, but if that is all I really should attend to my work for tonight before it gets any later. Hopefully, I will be able to finish the majority of it before the morning". He slowly backed away from North Shine, yet watched her for any final words before he departed for the night.
  14. @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ Denarius' brow raised as he trudged through the snow. Orion obviously didn't trust him though this was not unexpected considering the source. Whilst he was 'generous' enough to explain to everypony his purpose for being here, yet this did nothing to sate Denarius' quickly growing interest within his new companions. "Interesting, so what your all searching for is a source of this Litany, an object of obscene power, yet you have no idea what your looking for or what you'll encounter", he began to chuckle at the ludicrousness of their described quest. "Perhaps I was fortunate to find you then. This sounds intriguing enough, and I'm always looking for new ways to entertain myself".
  15. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain Monkshood trotted alongside the hovering North Shine. Gladly, listening to her explanation, and eventual question. Though before he could answer or even offer a minor retort, she suddenly landed on the ground with a sudden gasp for air. Startled, he kept his distance examining her still body. From what he could see, her breathing was still regulated, yet the rest of her stared off into a void. He waited, there was not much more he could do. He had neither the proper tools, nor knowledge of any such ailment to be of use to her. North Shine awoke from her trance shortly. Explaining herself, that was all she seemed to do was explain herself. At least, if it occurred again it wouldn't be that much of a shock. "The telepathy spell sounds rather inconvenient. It lets your friend Star interrupt you regardless of current situation or area, and without anyway to respond". He paused for a second. Monkshood glanced over to North Shine's face as he was suddenly overly aware of his own speech patterns around this mare. "Regardless, back to your question. Why would I take the wish? Isn't the idea of a boundless wish always the trick at the end of so many Old mare's tales? Though, I suppose I'm not sure what I would wish for in any respect. Though I'm curious now. What would be your wish"?, he told the mare, his voice once again turned torpid.
  16. @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ Watching Willow walk away, and the bug once again trying to unnerve the stallion. Denarius smirked at Zintiik's feeble attempt. Admittedly though, he was still slightly on edge due to the unsightly appearance of the changeling, but he would try not to lose face so readily again, especially in front of the others here. A chuckle left his lips before both, he and the changeling, backed away from each other to go about their own business. Denarius listened intently to the others speak. Hoping to find any information to use for later. Though much of the info seemed already known by the stallion or went completely over his head, one juicy morsel slipped through Orion's lips though. Apparently, this expedition of their's had something to do with somepony named Noble. It wasn't much, but it was at least a starting point. He would have to pick a time for further inquiry, granted the group seemed to be ready to leave. Interesting, possibly on the trek Denarius could achieve at least a private conversation with somepony to glean a little bit more info out of them, and hopefully get a better grasp of his current situation. He was getting anxious. The sooner they left, the sooner he could try and get more info with less suspicious eyes focussed on him. With a wide grin Denarius spoke up, "If everypony is to just stand around here nothing will be accomplished. I'll be waiting for everypony up at the cavern's mouth for when your all ready to leave". Turning around he began to head for the entrance. He hoped that the others would follow suit.
  17. @, @, @ He followed the changeling intently hoping for the mare to finally stop and notice the pair. Once she had finally come to a halt, Denarius and the changeling rushed to catch up to her. As soon as she noticed him standing behind Zintiik, she must of felt the need to apologize for Zintiik actions. "Oh have don't worry about me, it doesn't suit you. If your friend had been nice to me, what fun would there of even been in being here", Denarius told Willow with a laugh and a grin. She was arguably being overly sympathetic with a nigh complete stranger, but this meant he could at least trust her somewhat more than anypony else here.
  18. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain Monkshood raised his brow in a quizzical manner at North Shine's remark. "Not to go all Star Rain on her. What did that even mean?", he thought slightly befuddled. Granted, the comment did give him a refreshing sense of inclusion within the group despite knowing little about these ponies. Not sure on how to respond, Monkshood gave the mare nothing more than a quick perplexed nod.
  19. @, @ Denarius watched and listened as the changeling spoke what he heard as a few mumbled words, before heading down further into the tunnels. They had just gotten back, and that mare had decided it was best to wander off again. "Hey pal, there's no way that you're leaving me here to rot, so you can go meet up with your friends", Denarius said with a grin as he chased after Zintiik. He was hoping that the changeling would know how to proceed through these tunnels.
  20. @, @, @ Denarius watched as Orion left into the blackened expanse of the tunnel to look for Willow. Ah the sound of silence, it was oddly comforting to him after all of the commotion from last night. Pacing around the cavern, Denarius pondered once again all of the events that had occurred recently still unable to wrap his mind around his situation. Everything that he had seen or heard so far enticed him to continue on, yet one question still aggravated him. How was he supposed to play this game, if he didn't know what game he was even playing? Frustrated, he kicked a loose rock, and watched it as it ricocheted wildly off one of the cavern's walls. Trying to calm down, he heard the sound of hooves coming from the entrance. Two figures came into focus, it was the changeling Zintiik, unsurprisingly, and Willow. He eyed them as they approached him. Admittedly, he enjoyed the presence of the changeling. Zintiik's snide remarks were at least refreshing, in comparison to what most of the others had to say here. The changeling greeted him as Willow off in the corner of his eye stuffed something into her saddlebag. "I see you came back again. Anyway, your boss is still probably wandering down through the caverns. At least, Willow's back we can wait here now, and besides Orion might be able to grab the others before he comes back".
  21. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain Carefully balancing the box Monkshood followed North Shine as she wound through the streets. "You are correct, I am what some would classify as a Herbalist. Ask me anything about plants or fungi native to Equestria, and I will respond with a nigh Encyclopaedic knowledge of the subject", he told with a slight puff of pride and arrogance. "How curious your friend, Ginseng, is not here now. I would think with the upcoming expedition his services would be invaluable. Though, I'm more than sure my knowledge of materia medica shall suffice until we arrive. Regardless, I could possibly help him, or maybe he could help me", a playful chuckle rang throughout some of his words. They continued on throughout the streets. Glancing around, he thought about the final question North Shine had asked. It was oddly reminiscent of the other mare's question from earlier. Everypony he had talked to lately had seemingly been suggesting a lack of combat knowledge. Was it really that obvious? "I'll see if I can make my way for some combat training, but be forewarned I still need to gather some supplies. As I'm still quite low on many things. I think even you would agree that an Herbalist has no use, if they have no herbs".
  22. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain Monkshood looked down at the small bottle labelled 'Antibiotics' and the scroll. The scroll intrigued him, yet it looked like something relating to the mystic and was therefore worthless to the stallion. Granted, this friend she had mentioned was interesting as well. He could gather the plants later, besides this probably wouldn't take too long. Carefully, he lifted the two items and gingerly placed them back in the box. "Perhaps, I could at least assist you in carrying that the box there, and then maybe you could tell me of this friend of yours as well. I must admit you have me most intrigued about this individual", speaking in a manner more collected and calm then earlier.
  23. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain ".........Hyssopus Officinalis". Monkshood was still almost rhythmically listing off the plants he needed, despite having left Dorado standing on the street for a bit. He continued down the road passing building after building, watching as they slowly grew more intermittently placed. He approached what appeared to be a medicine shop as a distracted mare carrying a box nearly trotted into him. He slid out of the way as his bags rattled, yet again, from the sudden jolt of kinetic force. Rotating his neck, he noticed the box was carried by one of the hostesses, North Shine, from the meeting. His eyes examined the box noticing that it was labelled vaguely only as 'Ginseng'. Intriguing, surely the box wasn't full of nothing but one plant. Monkshood decided, quickly, it would be best to inquire further. "Salutations North Shine, I hadn't expected to see you again so shortly. Your hooves seem a little overburdened there", he stated hoping to grab the mare's attention.
  24. @, @ Denarius grew tense with anticipation for response of the changeling. Would he give in to him, or would he continually deny any modicum of a "gift" that Denarius had to offer. It seemed though Orion decided to interject within the conversation, his dismally awful timing had seemingly been consistent ruining Denarius' fun for what brief time he had known him. Giving a slight grumble of discontent, Denarius backed off from the two, he would rather not get involved in any sort of debate between them. He sat back by a few small rocks as the two briefly exchanged a couple of sentences before Zintiik rushed outside to find Willow. Denarius had been left in the room with Orion. *Oh, this is simply an ideal pairing of ponies*, he thought with a roll of eyes. Getting back up, he began to pace around the cavern, not sure on whether he should, or if Orion would even accept, help. Maybe it was best to sit back, and possibly try to keep his cards hidden as long as possible.
