  1. Monkshood @@AnonBrony, @@Tricksters Pride The mare's question of weaponry had caught Monkshood of guard. He had never been required to use any form of weaponry for much longer then a few minutes. He opened his mouth to respond to the mare's question as another seemingly interrupted the conversation. He shifted his head to see the twit of a pegasus from earlier, Dorado. Monkshood groaned with a sense of irritation. Thankfully, the mare next to him explained the situation rather admirably. Perfect, there was less talking he had to do to this one. Unfortunately, after finishing her small speech to the stallion she had decided to leave, but gave Monkshood the message to meet her again tomorrow. He gave a small nod of his head hoping she would understand the gesture. His vision shifted towards the stallion. "Greetings Dorado, you've seemed to caught me at an inopportune moment. I must soon head back to my accommodations to prepare for the trip ahead. Though first as the mare explained, I'm regrettably understocked of certain essentials, so I must gather as much as possible rather quickly". Turning his head away and walking towards the edge of Ponyville, Monkshood began methodically reciting, nigh arcane sounding, words seemingly trying to list them off. "Datura Stramonium.... Matricaria Recutita.... Schistostega.... Inula Helenium".
  2. @ Denarius looked at Zintiik, and slowly began to soften his gaze. "I seemed to of noticed that you have some misconstrued notions of my own generosity from earlier. That spare coin was merely meant as a gift. There was no ulterior motive for the simple present, and besides would you not want to buy something nice for yourself, or even treat anypony here to something in town once in awhile", he spoke to the changeling in an amiable voice.
  3. @ Denarius watched as Zintiik declined the offer, and quickly decided to buzz away with a small, almost mocking, grin about his face. The changeling soon moved to chat with Orion as Denarius watched and listened waiting for a break within the conversation. It dragged on until finally Zintiik left the unicorn alone once again. Seeing his opening, Denarius slid in front of Zintiik. With a sly smile, he asked the changeling, "Hey there Tactic, or perhaps I should now call you Zintiik. Do you mind if we have a little chat. It won't take long, I can assure you".
  4. Clearly, the answer to what the best Phantasy Star is Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium or Phantasy Star (the original for the SMS). Granted, for the online ones I would say PSO v1 also. In addition, if you haven't played the original Phantasy Star, I would highly recommend it. Whilst dated by today's standards, I really think it is one of the breakout RPG's of the era. It features one of gaming's first female leads, and actually large in scope story for the era. She starts her quest not because of a longing for adventure, but instead it's more focused on getting revenge for the death of her brother. Anyway, it was released in translated form in North America and Europe, and is widely available through legal means as it is available on the Wii Virtual Console, and as unlockable game on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for the 360 and PS3.
  5. Monkshood @@Tricksters Pride Monkshood gave a smug look of satisfaction, this was clearly a pony who appreciated his work. Well at least, he now knew some of the ponies would be tolerable on this journey, and perhaps today wasn't all for naught. His mind wandered at the mare's question, what would he need for such a journey. Clearing his throat, he responded. "Well, much of what I need is going to be related the colder climates for travel than I'm currently use to. I will probably require something of a well-insulated cloak with a pair of goggles, some form of shelter, possibly a canteen........", he paused for a moment as his mind seemingly struggled to think of the next item. "Ah yes, and perhaps a quality flint and steel would be ideal". As Monkshood finished rambling off his list, he began fitting everything manically back into his bag, and soon remounting the saddlebags on to his back.
  6. Monkshood @@Tricksters Pride "Heh, whilst the quantity of my merchandise is usually lower, the quality of my stock is peerless. Do you take me for some back-alley merchant, only out to make a quick bit? I'll let you appreciate my work for yourself in just a moment", Monkshood scoffed at the idea that somehow his stock was of a lesser quality. Finishing up his rebuttal, a thought struck him this mare had never told him what the Valerian Root had been for. She had explained the Chamomile, now Passionflower, more than admirably though she ignored the presence of the Valerian Root when explaining herself. Curious, unrefined Valerian Root such a odd request. Reaching into his bag, Monkshood pulled out two small jars, and gently rolled them towards the mare. Both of the jars contained the dried remains of what once a vibrant plant preserved in immaculate condition. Not a single speck of dirt seemed to penetrate the containers, despite the rather disorderly and dishevelled appearance of him.
  7. Monkshood @@Tricksters Pride "It sounds like your having issues with insomnia currently. Chamomile is so common that it is often hardly worth my time to gather, yet conversely I more infrequently come across Valerian Root and pick it when time allows it", Monkshood told the mare. Slowing his movement without notice, he walked to the side of the road, and gently let his saddlebags slide off of his back onto the grass before ruffling around one of the bags a bit. He shoved a couple of what appeared to fairly ruffled dirty books out of his bag, before finally stopping his search. "It appears I'm out of Chamomile miss, though might I suggest some Purple Passionflower instead? It generally has similar calming effects to Chamomile", he continued on without any pause between his sentences, "Now for the Valerian Root, I do have some, but I generally keep try it for myself due to the potency of such fauna, among other things. Naturally, I would value it higher than something as mundane as Chamomile though. Granted, this is all dependent on what supplies you have available", he took a deep breath in as he finally gave the mare a chance to reply.
  8. Monkshood @@Tricksters Pride "I have most of what I need for basic travel, yet I tend not to journey up North frequently enough for me to justify having any winter equipment", he told the mare, slightly embarrassed at his unprepared state. He let the second question sink in for a moment, and stared off into space. How would he pay as he was already short on funds. "Wait... what do you need", he asked with a quizzical glare. "I'm hoping somepony can for once actually appreciate the craftsmanship found within a fresh hoof made herbal mixture. I can brew or mix anything to any potency required", pride filled his voice as he spoke.
  9. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain, @@Tricksters Pride The hostess paused, they seemed to want to answer any questions the other ponies had. Monkshood grew weary of many of the ponies around him, though he remained rather interested in the prospect of this adventure. His survival skills were adept enough, and obviously whoever had left the note for him wasn't interested in his combat capabilities. He got up out of his seat as his worn saddlebags clinked and clanked from the sudden motion, and quickly approached the three mares in the front. He ignored the others and began to speak to her. Speaking in a low tone to make sure the others, excluding the hostesses, would not hear him, he told the mares, "If we're to start preparing currently, I must leave then to go procure a few more obscure supplies. Make no mistake I'm still interested, yet this can't simply wait. I'm sure you can find me again as you already seem to be well aware of me, despite my lack of introductions to anypony here". He flashed the mares a forced, yet somehow reassuring, almost quivering smile, he was clearly not one to smile all that frequently. Turning his back before any of the hostess mares could raise any objections, he proceeded to leave the coffee shop. As he left the building, he noticed another pony leaving. If he recalled correctly, she had arrived with the obnoxious raven haired unicorn from earlier. Intriguing, he was still short on some of the necessities for such a journey, and the less ponies he had to ask for help the better. Besides, her friend inside had already made it clear that they had copious amounts of provisions for the group. Monkshood approached the mare on the street. "Excuse me miss, I believe you and I were attending the same meeting in the coffee shop just now, and I would hate to askpony for some sort of assistance", his voice was much more confident outside such large groups, "but might you be able to aid me in procuring some supplies for the eventual trek. I would be more than willing to reimburse you for any of your help", he stated in a proud tone.
  10. Been playing way too much King of Fighters XIII lately.

  11. @ Denarius stared at the sheathed blade nearly dropped on top of him, and he gave a quick smirk clearly pleased with the return of his dagger. Quickly, he snatched it and reattached the scabbard to his leg. He glimpsed back at Zintiik still in front of him. "Take all of the bits over there for looking after my trinket of a dagger last night. I'm sure you can use them for something", his voice remained nonchalant towards the changeling as he pointed to the small pile of his belongings. He could tell nopony trusted him here. This was clearly not a group to trust anypony so readily, granted Orion seemed like the type who wouldn't trust the air if he could. Denarius shrugged it off with a sense of indifference. It really didn't matter to him whether any of the others trusted him or not currently. Furthermore, he had already assumed they wouldn't leave him behind for he could easily become a factor out of their control if he was to be let go of so readily. Paradoxically, the distrust within the group seemed to both threaten and protect him at the same time.
  12. Monkshood @@Windbreaker, @ Staring at the two unicorns Monkshood began to speak again as a look of exasperation and mild hesitation covered his face. "Well besides the fact that someponies here seem dressed more for a leisure stroll in the local park, or intent on running around a frozen wasteland, it would be safe to assume that many of them have seen very little untamed wilderness within recent memory. Besides, I do believe I never said I knew what we needed, except that we needed a travel plan instead of foolhardiness. I would prefer it if we could have a lack casualties". @@MagicalStarRain He cranked his neck towards the one called Kanon. "I expected nothing less from the leaders of an expedition to have a plan. Though someponies seem to have a preference of not listening". Curious, he had never mentioned his name to anypony here, yet Kanon already seemed to know of him. He would have to inquire about this most certainly later.
  13. @@Midnight Scribbler, @ Denarius stared at Midnight Scribbler waiting for a response, when Orion marched in barking orders to grab their belongings. This motley crew, who he now had to call his companions, were to leave shortly. Though, it seemed like he would have to leave his bits in the cave. Oh well, they would be easily replaceable once he got back to town. Getting up and moving away from Scribbler, Denarius began to casually stroll towards Orion. "Orion if we are to leave soon could I at least get you to retrieve my weapon from your changeling friend over there", speaking to the unicorn in a rather playful manner. "You may not trust me yet, but I'm sure you would agree that it would be better if I was to have some form of defence rather than being a needless burden for both you and me".
  14. Monkshood @@Windbreaker, @@AnonBrony The hired blades here were already tedious to deal with. They seemed to be completely oblivious to the dangers that the land itself could present to these travellers. Glancing over to the raven-haired unicorn, Monkshood told him with a twinge of nervousness in his voice, "If we were to travel into the Frozen-North, I would like to remind you that the land is mostly inhospitable. It will take more then just equipment and supplies to get us to this city. I would hope that we have some planned route through this barren stretch of nothingness?". His gaze slipped over to Dorado. He was annoyed at the pony's impatience. If Dorado was to continuously act like this, it would most likely come at the expense of everypony else. "As I was telling are friend here", he pointed to the raven-haired unicorn, "the biggest issue right now is the surrounding wilderness and not bandits. If you could wait a mere moment, and stop acting so myopic. You might be able to see that we need more than foolishness to get us to the city". Afraid he had just made a public spectacle of himself, Monkshood tried to slump back into his seat. Hoping that he would not be questioned or noticed any further.
  15. @ The database now seems to be back online. Do you still want us to post the images, or is it ok now. EDIT: Here's the best picture I have of my OC.
  16. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain Finishing off his beverage with one last hearty sip, Monkshood sighed with a disappointed tone. "I guess I had too high of hopes for these ponies", he quietly muttered to himself waiting for the seemingly inevitable fight to break out between the three ponies. Each had drawn a weapon aimed at another. His earlier suspicions had been seemingly confirmed about many of these individuals, at least of the brash one Dorado anyway. He would have to be cautious around some of these ponies. Much to his surprise though, the struggle soon ended without a single action of senseless violence. Impressive, not so many would be willing not to inflict some form of reprisal upon the perpetrator, yet they may just not want to scare away any potential applicants so soon. A voice quickly penetrated his thoughts on the event. It was the sound of the unicorn Star Rain. She wished to begin speaking of the journey ahead. Monkshood's ears perked up, and his eyes intently drifted towards her own. Finally, they could begin, and hopefully the other ponies could cease their mindless bickering of moments earlier. Quietly, he sat intently waiting to hear of what could potentially be ahead.
  17. Twilight Sparkle: NightMare Dusk That's all I can think up, sorry for the lack of creativity.
  18. @ How long till you decide who your picking as I can't post the images for my OC yet. Mainly because I'm not going to be back on my computer till later today, currently using my phone.
  19. Like Lazarus, the forums have risen once again.

  20. I could probably think of more, but here's what I have for now. People who use the wrong there/their/they're in a sentence. People who spell/pronounce espresso with an x. People who refuse to try any kind of new or different food. People who wear clothing that is clearly too large/small for them. Also, Neon Fire here's a comic for you relating to vegetarianism that you might get a kick out of. http://www.smbc-comics.com/?id=3105
  21. Once, I watched it, and gave it a shrug of my shoulders plus a resounding meh then promptly forgot about it.
  22. I would say give it a bit. They probably want to gauge quite a bit of data before even going forward with or revealing such a project. I could easily see them not going forward with it if for example, The Equestria Girls toy-line was a flop. In short, wait and see.
  23. Monkshood @@MagicalStarRain Monkshood raised his brow at the question. Why was he here? Truthfully, he had been asking himself if he was even going to come since the arrival of the note. His business had been rather slow, but he had survived off of times when it was down to nothing more than a trickle. He thought further. Was the idea of having a single wish granted really that compelling to him, or was it just his rabid sense of inquiry that had plagued him for most of his life. Either way, it probably really didn't matter to the mare sitting across from him. "Honestly, I'm unsure myself. I would assume that it's more my own curiosity than anything else, but the possibility of some form of wealth would allow me to continue my own studies", he told the mare his voice rang of some fleeting form of fondness just as he seemingly abruptly stopped talking. @@AnonBrony Another pony approached him as he finished talking with the mare. This one seemed to be equipped more for a research trip, not entirely dissimilar to himself, instead of an actual journey. Intriguing, such invitations, from his limited experience with them, often attracted nothing more than sellswords and cut-throats. Maybe he wouldn't be forced to talk to simple-minded ponies who could care less about the intricacies and nuances of his craft. Giving this newcomer a slight smile, hopefully signifying that he was more than welcome at this table. Like clockwork another approached the table. These interactions often seemed to be the bane of Monkshood's existence, despite the necessity of them. He glanced up at her she seemed to more care about questioning the mare, North Shine. He would let her answer the questions for him. He preferred nothing more then to observe the conversation unfold.
  24. @@Midnight Scribbler, @@SilverHeart, @, @, @ He listened intently to the unicorn's counsel. Perhaps, he had acted to rashly. Zintiik butted in with a snide comment, seemingly uncaring towards their earlier transgression. Trying to ignore the changeling's remark, he found himself agreeing that it would be better for him to try to befriend this group rather than lashing out at them. Denarius chuckled mildly, though still slightly angry at Zintiik, he grinned at Scribbler. "It was a slip of the tongue, I assure you. As you said what could possibly be gained from me picking a fight with anypony here. Besides, in.... AH". Pausing mid-sentence a sharp stinging sensation could be felt throughout his ear. His ear began to twitch violently trying to alleviate the pain. Gritting his teeth, he began to continue on with his sentence as if he had never been interrupted . "In my experience, it's not opportune to bear grudges so shortly after meeting", he said with a slight quivering grin as his ear continually shook.
  25. @@MagicalStarRain Monkshood tried to take little notice of the other ponies entering. Granted, some of the more boisterous ones arriving made him roll his eyes and sigh with a look of exasperation upon his face. Instead, his attention was focused on the mare in front of him. Gazing at her with a look of indifference for a few moments before speaking. "I'm sure they will spot me eventually, after all you found me here. Besides, I'm really not the type for socializing in larger groups. Though if you would like to sit and talk, I'm sure the company would be enjoyable". Looking towards the mare he awaited her response.
