  1. Epic review I must say, even though I disagree with some points.

First thing I would like to point out is the whole "Wonderbolts are out of character" thing. I completely disagree with that. Here's a YouTube comment that puts it pretty well.

    "Spitfire, was, being, Competitive.

Remember when we first saw Spitfire at the Gala, and Dash thought this was her chance to finally hang out with them? Well, it obviously wasn't because they weren't really there to hang out. There Equestria's fastest flyer's and used that time to more likely gain sponsor's and mingle with people who can actually offer them something. If it was the other way around, we would have seen her talking with more Friend's And Dash more often.

Now, remember how in Wonderbolt's Academy when we thought her personalty took a 180? Well, it really didn't. She was a Drill Sergent. It was her job to keep everyone on equal level of discipline and teach them everything they needed And make sure they had the ability to be Wonderbolt's.

In this episode, she's competing in the Equestria Game's. This mean's there Title, and everything the Wonderbolt's stand for is on the line. If there was ever a time to seize an opportunity to get a better competitor who you Know is going to either perform at the same level or Better than another, they Have to take it. If you don't believe that, you should really be keeping a better eye on the sport's world, because that's where this drama and idea comes from in the first place.

The entirety of this episode has her Completely in character, but people are so easy to jump on them just because she's being Harsh. Not even taking into consideration everything they Could lose if they don't keep there Status and Title. Does that make them Right? Well, that's entirely debatable. But to me, they were just being and doing what they thought was for the Greater Good of the Wonderbolt's. And it wasn't based on a "We need to take these guy's down" situation, which was very refreshing."

Personally, I like the Wonderbolts as somewhat villianous characters. It paints the moral that your idols aren't always as perfect as you may make them out to be.

"The Wonderbolts aren't a sports team, they're military"

The Wonderbolts aren't a sports team? Since when do people place bets on militia in stadiums? Since when does the military compete in the Olympics?

    "Why doesn't Twilight compete?"

Twilight is a princess and I doubt she would be interested in flying on the Ponyville team as she's sure to have more important things to do.

"Why would Soarin' forgive his friends so hastily?"

I'm sure Soarin' understands to an extent, reason being as I stated above.

"The rest of the Mane 6 were out of character"

They may have been stereotyped and generic to an extent but I wouldn't say they were out of character.

"Rainbow Dash's acting was incredibly fake and cringe worthy"

This is a silly complaint. Exaggerated acting is present in pretty much every TV show when someone is faking an injury or something.
  2. I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. What are these "pissing contests" you speak of?

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. What are these "pissing contests" you speak of?

Like I said above, no fingers shall be pointed here, period. The point of this blog wasn't to shame anyone who just so happens to benefit from favoritism, but rather how favoritism itself necessarily shoves everyone who isn't popular to the sidelines and essentially silences them. I realize it's going to happen regardless of my idealistic viewpoints, and I have no place to publicly shame anyone for it.

That's his way of saying "Yes, you're one of the people I'm referring to but I'm just gonna say it subliminally instead". Personally, I would rather be told directly if someone has a problem with me.

And seriously, what you're talking about is human nature. Those who are more popular are going to get more recognition especially when there's an approval system like brohoofs. If Justin Bieber makes a statement, and you make the same statement, his is going to get more noticed simply because he is more popular. More people know about him, therefor what he says will get more recognized.

I understand your point. I can be a pretty jealous person, and it can be irking to see someone get more recognition and approval for a lower effort post. But I try to understand that the only reason is because they've made a name for themselves. They (most likely) earned their "spot" in the community.

As Clarity said, this is one of the most helpful, kind, and supportive forum communities I've ever been on so far on the internet.

And again, your point seems heavily exaggerated. Who is "treading over" others to get popular on these forums? Who is "selling their soul"? I don't really see that happening to the extent that you make it out to be.

  3. Welcome to the internet. Everything is a popularity contest. When you have brohoofs, profile views counters, etc, people are bound to turn it into a contest. Those who post the most or have been around the longest are always on top.

Also I'm curious, can you cite some specific examples?

  4. This my friends is what we call "forced association".

By the logic here, I can make any group and make a simple requirement and anyone who happens to follow that requirement be it by accident or ignorance is not a member of that group. In that case, I'll make a group of gay-bashing racist douchebags. We'll call ourselves "The biggest douches ever" and we'll make our only requirement that you like being alive. Then almost everyone will be a part of our group!

That is a terrible comparison. Not even close.

Do you see how your logic does not make sense? Brony is a self given label, and you are encouraging forcing it onto people. On top of that, you are giving a definitive definition to a made up word. Brony has only the meaning that people give to it. It's a made up word, it's not recognized in the dictionary, therefore you can't say "it means this" as an argument.

I'm curious as to what you would consider a "brony", because clearly its much different than how nearly everyone else defines it.

I do not not call myself a brony to not associate with the bad part of the fandom (which is just a bonus really) I don't call myself one because I do not feel like I am one, and I do not want a label, good or bad. I am me, and I am just a guy who likes a thing. It doesn't make a statement about me. I do not want a label and you have no right to force one upon me. You're forcing conformity and it's annoying.

You don't have to go around saying you're a brony all of the time, but to deny being one then turn around and say "I'm a fan of MLP" makes no sense. Why are you so against the term? It doesn't make sense to me.
