@@iSurvivor, Alicorns should certainly be rare, and there will likely be more as time goes on, but so far only Cadence is known to have had an alicorn child. I would think that C and L are hardly likely to have children at all at this rate, thus we don't really need to worry about a rise in Alicorn population from that route. Besides, who says all the children of alicorns will be alicorns? So far we have a sample size of one, and that is hardly conclusive. As to whether a character should or shouldn't be an alicorn, say they were hurt after being an alicorn that broke their wings, horn, or legs, would that say that they should lose their alicorn status for it? What if a unicorn had a broken horn, shouldn't they just be an Earth pony instead? Of course the answer is NO! Your race is of course not determined by the status of your body. This would of course then extend to an alicorn who's wings were injured to uselessness, but they would still have the pegasus magics within to manipulate weather and walk on clouds. Of course, if they lacked one of the types of magic then they fail the very definition of alicorn as a fusion of the three races, if they lack an Earth Pony's magically enhanced strength or nature then they can't be an alicorn, but if they're unable to fly, especially if they've never had wings before, that hardly prevents them from being an alicorn. Of course alicorn OCs can be too powerful, any character needs a weakness in order to be enjoyable. As to unaging, they had to have aged unless they were born in the state they are presently in, we also don't have a real indication as to them being truly immortal, just that they are exceedingly long lived to have been around for at least a full thousand years. They could still be biologically immortal, thus unable to die from old age, but they might not be. Who's to say their parents didn't die from old age? In short, your abilities do not determine your race, and an injury doesn't mean you aren't what you were before the injury.

@@Flearia Dragondanser, The wind caused by the dragon's swift movement was enough to tip over Baseplate's saddlebags, causing one of the white gloves to fall to the floor along with some of his papers and pencils. He quickly swept them back into his bag along with the glove silently hoping no one had noticed. That dragon is certainly less careful than Spike. Then again, she hasn't been around ponies along as he has. Hopefully that makes a change for the better over time, or at least enough to not mess with my studies.

@@SpikusFyre, Hmm, given his mark is a type of blue fire, and his coat is somewhat ash colored, perhaps his real name would have to do with hot flames and ash, Ashen Flame perhaps? It relates to his new name too which makes it more likely to have stuck.

@@Jokuc, Hmm, How about if it were similar to the way Google Play does their rankings? IE for each level of badge there would be a slightly different badge depending on which section of the forums you had the most posts in. For example, I would have the RP Pony badge given the vast majority of my posts are in RP. Thus there wouldn't have to be badge choosing and people could tell by your badge where on the forums you have the most experience.

@@Flearia Dragondanser, Baseplate raised his eyebrows at the new arrival, this dragon was a bit bigger than Spike, and seemed a bit more self confident than him even after he had helped him to be more assertive. He lowered his head to his desk and looked around the room for a clock, these long introductions were certainly taking quite a bit of time out of the school day.

There isn't much of a hurry, the way things look we may be here for a long time before we find a way out." He was of course referring to dimensional shards, without which they wouldn't be crossing to another world any time soon.

@@Randimaxis, Illiad was roused from his dreamless sleep by Selena, who had drawn him in to a dream room while she did what she could to heal him. She didn't say anything, just looked at him with a sad expression. The room was dark, a clear indicator that she was low on energy to work with. "I'm afraid there's not much I can do to help you, I simply lack the resources. If someone doesn't find us soon... well, you should be fine. You're strong enough." Illiad turned, the memories of the battle playing through his mind and thus playing on the wall of the dark room. "Even with all that power, I couldn't even hurt him. Even with all my plotting ability, he was always just ahead of me. I couldn't stop him, he pushed aside all my attacks like it was nothing." He sat down, a tear or two running down his face, "Is this my lot in life? To clean up others' messes? To take the hits for those that caused the problems? When he attacked my abilities, he nearly killed me, he would have driven the whole quarry insane. Is that what I am? A time bomb just waiting to go off and destroy all that I care about?" He turned to where Selena had been, but she was gone. The replay of the battle too had stopped, leaving him once again in a dark room. Is this how Luna felt back then? Powerless to change anything? Weak in the face of adversity? Perhaps... His consciousness faded again as he drifted back into a dreamless state, waiting for someone to rescue him from where he lay on the tarp that once covered the massive Cloud Diamond.

@@DwhitetheGamer, Midnight entered the kitchen like he had the previous few days, though he was surprised to see that Copper was waiting for him this time. "Good morning Copper, you sleep well?" He idly wondered what Copper had prepared today and what the smaller stallion had planned for them today.

@@DwhitetheGamer, Midnight too headed for his room, staring out at the sky far a bit before getting in to his bed. He couldn't shake the feeling that he should have waited a bit longer before coming with Copper, should have made sure that they would be alright. He sighed again before he drifted off to sleep, it was too late to change that now. He'd be back with them soon enough.

@@cwhip9, Out of all the ponies there, it was the pinkish purple one with the blond mane that intrigued him the most. There was something that seemed different about her, but there was no way he was going to ask her directly. He had had enough potentially embarrassing moments for one day. He turned his attention back to the front of the room, occasionally sneaking glances in her direction.

@@DwhitetheGamer, Midnight turned back towards Copper, again suspecting him of being a mind reader, he sighed. "I know I'll see them again, and perhaps this time apart will be good for them, I just don't want to have been gone when they needed me. I know it may be a silly thought, they're all full grown adults and they can handle themselves, I just hope they're ready for what's coming. They're so close to achieving what all the generations before them had sought." He shook his head, "Let's not worry about that now though, let's get some rest and enjoy one last day before we head back up to Archback."

I was thinking it might be nice if there were sectional badges, for having a certain number of posts in a certain section of the forums, for example a RP badge, an Octavia badge, etc. In addition to the general post count badges. Users could then choose whether they wanted their sectional or general badge displayed on their posts. Just a thought.

@@Randimaxis, The attack on his abilities, had it succeeded, would have killed him instantly. As it was there was still a good chance of VERY bad thing happening if he didn't fix it fast. Especially with all the others coming at him with their charged emotions. He had to bug out of there fast. His breathing grew ragged as his horn sputtered from the pinch on his abilities. Already the restricted magical pathway was being overloaded, He looked around, trying to find a place far enough away to keep the quarry safe if and when he blew, he spotted the vault, where he had removed the magical protections, if he put them back up with him inside... It just might contain what he was about to do. With a bright flash he teleported away, his pained and fearful expression the last those nearby saw before he vanished. The remaining cloud diamond fell unceremoniously to the ground, already beginning to reform itself into larger chunks. [/hr] Within the darkness of the vault he quickly resealed the magic he had removed earlier in the conflict. He felt sick, the emotions he had built up before now trapped within himself. He took a stance, ready to force all of it out of himself. It would hurt, a lot, but it just might save his life. With a scream a beam of light shot out from his horn, impacting the ceiling and dispersing in an array of many different colors like a hose of high pressure water. The beam was small at first, then grew larger as the pathway was stretched back to the way it was before. It kept going until all the energy he had stored up was depleted, the beam sputtering as it ended, before he collapsed to the ground, now painfully aware of the other wounds Havoc had inflicted. As his vision started to fade the stones fell lightly to the ground around him, as well as his original diamond, which began to roll towards him slowly. Sometimes victory comes at a cost, but if it saves those I care about, no cost is too great for me to pay. He drifted into a dreamless sleep, surrounded by the darkness of the vault with nothing but his gem to protect him.

@@Yoshikupo, The Black Knight turned to face Chain as he addressed him, "I suppose we may as well, there is certainly much to be learned from the comparisons behind our histories and reasons for traveling in the manner we are. Perhaps by working together we might actually accomplish our objectives faster?"

@@Randimaxis, Illiad hardly reacted when Havoc's ethereal form appeared behind him, he was too concentrated, too focused on containing himself to care. He wasn't about to fail them. He dispersed the clones to make them easier to stop and reverse, flinging the now cloud of diamond back at Havoc, causing all the shards to embed themselves into his body, lashing themselves together into a straight-jacket of sorts as well as chains to bind him to the ground. The diamond suit was designed to prevent him from escaping his body again, and to prevent him from leaving that spot while Taps completed her spell. Hopefully it would work.

@@cwhip9, Baseplate narrowed his eyes at Summer, in this position his eyes lined up with his rectangular glasses. "Mauled by a manticore actually, but I sure do appreciate the sympathy." The last part was said in a way that was clearly sarcasm. "Are all the ponies here as caring as you or are you just the odd one out?" He sighed and decided he'd just go back to his seat now, so he did. Hopefully the rest of the day will go better than this.

@@cwhip9, Baseplate looked a bit nonplussed at String Shot's interjection before he turned back towards Summer, "I didn't lose my memories, the doctors and Ms. Sparkle simply convinced me that they were impossible, the possible effects of whatever trauma I experienced in the forest which lead to my stay in the hospital. The name I remembered still fit so I stuck with it." He turned to face Stormy, a bit of an unsure expression on his face, "Well, I remember being something else, and given that I am not what I remember being it sufficeth me to say they are impossible."

Couldn't they just go back to ignoring the students and just lecture? Ah well, it seemed he would have to at least make an effort to seem like a normal member of the community. He moved to the front as Cheerilee had directed. He turned back to look at the class, his eyes pausing slightly on a certain pinkinsh purple unicorn with a blond mane, before proceeding. "Well, my name is Baseplate, Blu Baseplate. I don't know where I'm from really, just that I was discovered near the edge of the Everfree Forest and that my 'memories' are impossible. I don't have a special talent yet, and... ya, I guess that's it." He stood there awkwardly for a bit waiting for some sort of direction from Cheerilee about what he should do.

Anyone with questions about me, my ocs, the writing and role-play process, or anything you can think of, feel free to ask!

@@BronyParkour, I find that a mouse will make your situation significantly easier. As to other suggestions, given you are working on the computer I would recommend that you go online to find pictures of aspects that you like, such as head shape and mane/tail styles, then compile them together to trace the outlines and add color. Personally I would recommend Ponyscape (A mod of Inkscape) for that sort of thing. I don't know how my friend who gave it to me got it, but if you can find it, it should help you out.

@@Phil The Derpy Llama, I would guess that you've already moved on from this, but I don't like leaving posts empty. As to a name, I have based names off of what their talent is and personality as well as their color scheme. Given the picture no longer exists I can't help your specific case atm.
