I'm thinking that we will have a solid date by 3/20. This is technically my first Pony hiatus and as a fan of both Sopranos and Breaking Bad I know how to deal with long breaks. It also helps having years of content to sift through in the off-season.
As far as why the hiatus is so long, it is likely a business decision from Hasbro as you pointed out. The showrunners have noted several times that it's up to Hasbro, so I inferred that they were ready - Hasbro wasn't.

@PinkieParty2000, I went ahead and merged your thread with a slightly older thread in General Discussion.

What kind of things do you like to write?
Java. What? Your topic title says Hello World.
Actually I am a fan of Literary Fiction and Speculative Fiction. Historical Narratives are also great fun to write - providing you allow time for research.
Welcome to MLP Forums and stay for a spell sugar cube.

In my oppinion its been pretty concistent if not better a lot of it has changed but change is necessary to shows like mlp or else it would get boring
*Nods.
Staving of stagnation by taking a new approach, or evolving an IP is a viable alternative. It can be a tricky balancing act at times though. Some properties mature gradually and it works (Harry Potter), while others go off the rails and are no longer identifiable and approachable from the viewpoint of their original fanbase (Roseanne).
I think that FiM has taken the middle road here.

@pocketshotgun, I moved your thread to Creative Resources as that is likely the place that you will get the most feedback on how to animate using software.

I believe predestination would have been applicable even if Sunset had been Celestia's full protege, so yes.

Even though the tone of Season 4 was different than the earlier seasons, I found the the later season highly enjoyable. I actually consider Season 4 to be subjectively superior to Season 1 and Season 3, but nicely tied with Season 2. The departure from a simpler approach does not hinder my enjoyment anymore than Game of Thrones hinders my enjoyment of Star Trek. I have this odd ability to compartmentalize elements of any media and long or short form narrative series. It also helps that nostalgia rarely becomes a major factor in my enjoyment of any IP. I often wonder if some people have an association with the earlier seasons and the beginnings of the fandom and are influenced by their perceived loss of a sense of discovery with one.
Anyway, I vote for the better. I am also curious as to the direction of Season 5. With what we know so far, I am certain it will further alienate those fans who pine for simplicity of the Faust era.
I would love some episodes without any member of the mane 6. I hate how they have to be in everything.Season Five Spoiler

Keepers of Discord.
Was a well conceived story. The author actually created several generations of OC's that the reader could care about. The fics take on Discord's imprisonment and how he/she played on how people tend to have a emotional connection to inanimate items was appreciated.
Yes, Fan Fiction most certainly can be taken seriously. Most of the work is raw, but some of it is downright brilliant. Some show the beginnings of a promising wordsmith. Take for instance, The Things We Leave Behind - this is the proper way to handle a sad fic.
Look, I read a lot of material that many would consider AP level literature. For example, all this current talk about a certain Vonnegut short story being the possible influence on a Season 5 episode is leaving me giddy. Basically, my tastes in lit are objectively decent. I found merit in fan fiction. Some of it is better than the professionally edited and marketed work you will find on the NY Times list.

No. I'm going to be fine. Thanks.
Ok, in that case I will go ahead and close this thread. Thanks Starlight.

Is there a way to exclude all RPs? I don't really RP at all. I've tried going to the settings panel and setting the roleplay sections to not show up but that does nothing. It would be fine if there were only a few RP threads in the recent topics but there are a lot of them.
Thanks for your help (Should you decide to reply)
Yummy, did that assist you?

My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Rarity
How did you find MLP Forums?: A friend told me about it.
How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Well. I always have loved classical music. While I was looking for some classical music on youtube, I came across something with the name Octavia on it. Had the love at first sight, then decided to learn about the show. After an episode I became hooked.
Hello! I am a huge fan of classical music, and I'm learning how to play many instruments.
One thing you need to know about me before you ask me a music based question: I hate dubstep. I clearly see it as not music at all, and just something lazy a computer could do. Honestly.
EDM I'm sorry.
Welcome to MLP Forums. Love the Crystal Octavia avatar.

I still lack the appropriate words to convey the emotions I feel. I remember seeing Trek II and III in theaters (thanks to my father really making sure that I was introduced to Trek at an early age). It worked. My first convention was a Trek con ... and I eventually got to meet a few of the original cast ... including Nimoy ... most recently at Dragon Con.
His dignified yet appreciative nature was evident. He loved this character. He loved his fans. We loved him.

I moved this to the Media forum and added the technology prefix. Vital did a decent job nailing your questions.
Note that I gave my daughter the nickname foo.

@SolidTwilight, at this moment we do not have a marketplace. It has come up from time to time, but the oversight needed would have been difficult to manage. This topic covers some of the reasons why.

Normally, you just have to start a thread in the fan club section, but in your case, there's already a Silver Spoon fan club:
Actually, in regards to Silver Spoon, she already has a fan club dedicated to her right here: http://mlpforums.com/topic/99654-silver-spoon-fan-club/
Anywho, even though you searched, it sometimes pays to be extra sure. You wouldn't have been in trouble for making a duplicate club by accident, but if the search feature on the forums didn't lend you anything, you can use "site:mlpforums.com" on Google to be sure. That's how I located the club I linked to you.
As for starting clubs, just start a topic here: http://mlpforums.com/forum/140-fan-clubs/
It has to be approved by staff first, but if there isn't a club already there it should be approved no problem. If there is one, we'll just lock it and link to the already existing one.
http://mlpforums.com/topic/99654-silver-spoon-fan-club/ I found it
. There's literally a fan club for everypony.
Hello, there are already a fan club devoted to the queen of silver spoons that can be found here: http://mlpforums.com/topic/99654-silver-spoon-fan-club/
I suggest you to use Google search function when you next time do a search it is more effective than the sites own search function. Just go to google and type the woed you want to search for and add site:mlpforums.com at the end there so it narrows the search down to this site only =)
To create a fan club you can go to the fan clubs section and create a club there by pressing start new topic button. New threads there require approval from the staff before they are shown.
Well, normally, fan clubs belong in the Fan Clubs section, in Sugercube Corner. But, as it turns out, there already is a fan club thread created for Silver Spoon, which can be found here. I highly recommend searching the site using Google instead of using the board search function, the former is way more reliable.
In case your unfamiliar, to search this site using Google, simple input whatever term you wish to search for (e.g. Silver Spoon fan club) followed by 'site:mlpforums.com'. Hope this helps!
First of all, there is a Silver Spoon Fan Club.Maybe you didn't looked for enought.
Second,there's a whole section dedicated to Fan Clubs,but only to MLP-related ones(that means Ponies,Shippings...)
If you want to see which Fan Clubs do exist, there's an Index that is updated oftenly, with an organized list of Fan Clubs.
If you made sure that it doesn't exist a Fan Club for a pony, you just make a topic like you would make anywhere else. Also, the topics must be approved by a moderator or a sectional staff before being shown.
Hope that it resolved all your issues.
, I believe you have your answer several times over. Thanks everypony!
I'll go ahead and close this out as it can't really get more thorough than this.
