  2. Also, even if the score holds and my 2 favorites are gone, I'll stick around because...

    Agreement!

The trick for me is determining which horse to back (pun intended).

It could be the Banana Pone whose unexpected return created a Cinderella story

It could me my Initial fav and her OCD inspired ways

Or a manic but well intentioned homage to classic cartoons.

    This is a conundrum!

  3. Thought provoking. I also like to see Discord as a byproduct of existence itself and I do take it a step further by comparing his role to how entropy is inextricable tied to thermodynamics itself on our physical world. The universe is trying to reach a natural equilibrium, and complete entropy is required for that balance. Discord/Choas is in place to bring equilibrium to Equestria (maximum entropy). Unless held by some unknown force (trapped for 1000 years).

Of course if you don't subscribe to the Big Freeze theory in cosmology, you probably won't like that much either.

  4. The biggest inspiration for best pone is Audrey Hepburn. Faust said as much afaik.

Fitting that one of the most beautiful women ever inspired the most beautiful pone ever.

Don't know if there is some Diana in the mix though.

Can't agree more. Audrey Hepburn is class personified. I also see some Vivian Leigh in Rarity when she goes all Drama Reaction. There's a reason that the Gone With The Wind reference was so fitting in Sisterhooves Social.

  5. Well, I can't really add to the number of deaths in the actual show that others haven't mentioned yet, so yeah, Sombra and Applejack's parents would count as deaths.

Honestly, while I don't believe characters should be killed off left and right and definitely not in a violent way either, I do think there should be at least an episode focusing on the backstory and fate of Applejack's parents. As someone else mentioned, it would be a great way to teach the kids watching at home about how to deal with the loss of a loved one. Rugrats apparently did this, and so did Sesame Street, whose target audience is younger than MLP's, even. This is why I call BS on the writers for not actually addressing this topic on the show because it's been done before and quite well at that. The sad thing is, death and mourning doesn't sell toys (unless if your kid was goth or something), so Hasbro would never give the okay to do this. As it is now, I guess the show is handling the topic of death well enough by avoiding it.

Also forgot about Mr. Hooper! I was done watching Sesame Street when that happened ... but wow that was a classy and highly respectful way the show handled that.

That dear friends is the Gold Standard of how TV can approach the topic of death of a loved one.

  6. I have to agree with the sound off. It's silly (and a little insulting) to assume that all Rarity and AJ fans will vote for each other automatically. While the idea of 'The Rarijack Alliance' is whimsical fun, we all gravitate to characters for our own unique reasons and politics and pressure shouldn't sway your vote.

Each if the Mane Six, and many if the support characters are all part of the same recipe. Yes, I may prefer some ingredients on their own better than others, but together it's makes a masterpiece of a dish. The show would be less appealing with ANY of the major players not factored in. Even Diamond Tiara (Grrrrrrrrrr)

Irony ... I was just reminded of Sisterhooves Social and Applejack to Rarity.

    Also .... mmmm, pie.

  7. Will you marry me? Im a guy but im much hawter than your wife XD

    (That convo though XD)

Jeric's wife is smexy wife. ;)

I didn't realize until copying and editing that from FB Messenger that she actually asked be who was Best Pony and I kinda ignored the question because I don't think I understood it.

If I do ever make a "How you became a Brony blog ... that is so going in it."

  8. For whatever reason (and maybe because the only brony I know loves her), I never assumed Rarity as being an unpopular Mane 6. This perception was what surprised me when I first started reading threads on the forum. Both ponies have a strong fan base on here and that constitutes for 99% of my brony interaction, looking at the World Cup, Rarity made it to the final four while AJ and RD were eliminated (this is admittedly limited to sample size and matchup, but its all I've got! ) From the brony I know IRL and this site, I've never considered Rarity as one of the least popular.

However, Hasbro merchandise seems rather neglectful of AJ and I wondered if thats to do with her perceived fan base, I hope not as she certainly deserves more attention :(

I voted Rarity no, AJ yes (unfortunately :( )

AJ's too busy for that plastic nonsense, 'sides she was holding out until they started showing her with her hat.

Anyhoo, I'm biased and can't really fully chart AJ and Rarity's popularity over the course of the series since I wasn't there from go.

I will say this though. If Rare's ever does this again ... her popularity may just plummet.

    Lipstick Pony ... NO!

  9.

Anyway, Im just curious to see if there is anyone else out there who doesn't watch the show anymore or very rarely watches the show but, continues to keep with in the fandom and considers themselves to be a brony or pegasister.

    Thanks~

While I haven't been a fan of MLP for long so I have no fatigue and cannot really talk with any authority about getting tired of the Ponies, I can say that there is one property that I have been a massive fan for most (if not all) of my conscious life. Star Wars. Love me some Jedi/Sith/Smuggler goodness.

Here's the thing though, I watch the films maybe one time a year, yet I post regularly on a SW board, edit some fan fic, and love all most things Star Wars. Even though I consume the movies with an annual marathon, I will always consider myself a fan ... and a dedicated one at that.

So even if you don't watch a episodes regularly, no one should question your enjoyment of MLP.

  10. Hey Win or lose, we'll have had a good run, no?

Sure did. Had a freaking blast!

Speaking of that did anybody get a PM from Obsidian Sky saying she was Ok?

    No

    :/
