Applejack. Her work ethic and dedication to her family are the prime examples, but there are other reasons. The thing for me is that I find aspects of myself in all of the Mane 6, and even one or two of the supporting characters like Scootaloo.
Rarity, who is hands down my favorite, has mannerisms that I don't at all, but her love for form and artistry is something I strongly associate with.
Twilight and her lust for research and knowledge.
Fluttershy has an almost spiritual connection to nature.
Rainbow Dash has a tendency to over confident, and is often marginalized by some because of this.
Scootaloo fears not living up to a perceived potential she believes she is expected to have.
Pinkie Pie's drive to make others happy, and randomness.
I guess the one take away from all of this is that MLP is a smorgasbord of characterization.

Tirek likely didn't at first because his goal was to quickly gather the strength to take on the Princesses, and going after magic that hadn't matured yet may have been inefficient, and allowed his enemies additional time to prepare.
Though he likely would have gone after them at some point; it's just that this little Purple Horse kinda got in the way.

Hasbro. Get on that! Seriously though, minus the movement (which is a pretty amazing throwback to 19tg and early 20th century European toys) I would collect the shit out of statues and models representing scenes from the show.

1. Do you believe that focusing on commission work stifles artistic integrity?
2. Is charcoal/pencil and paper dead? (noticed on your DA profile your pic regarding drawing on a tablet)

1. Does it drive you crazy that I renumbered this question '1' instead of '3'?

I'm sorry to cut in, but I feel as though I need to share this.
Fellow friends have always asked me "Why do you like Rarity the most? She's nothing but a generic girly/drama girl!" but I say nay to that and here's why.
Gather around, for I will tell you the beauty of what made this precious creature what it is today. Actually I'm just going to tell you why I chose her over the rest. But gather around anyway.
It all started when I was having a particular dream, in this dream I was the prince of... dreamland of something. I didn't really care the place looked pretty cool. As I was wandering my royal court (being a handsome prince and what-not) until suddenly I see a pony in my court yard. She was poor and... well that's it, ponies don't really get respect in dreamland their all poor. Moving on, this pony was Rarity, and she was looking for something she had lost during the celebration. But her real intentions was to meet the Prince himself. I was the prince, so to show my kindness I decided to invite her to my hot tub party, and there was dub step music, someone drowned and rarity turned into a dog. (yeah dreams kinda suck...) But my point being it was moment a saw rarity in that dream that I discovered a whole different layer to the characters personally.
I'v always had trouble choosing one character in the mane six, but the one thing that stood out from rest was Rarity's dream.
Rarity's dream is a very singular path. She wants her life to become something of a Hollywood picture, where she finds the man of her dreams, the male that will treat her right, the gentleman that would lead her to her future. Rarity's dream involved becoming popular, becoming noticed by all. Her dream is to be remembered by all so that when she dies, she will not be forgotten. Her dreams shine bright like a bountiful sunlight. But at last, her dream is like a beautiful sun, and when she fly's too close to it. She will burn her wings and spiral towards the ground. The poor, poor pony. If only her fate weren't a sad one. She is simply an artist with a desire to release her imagination onto the world.
Oh, the pony's artistic beauty knows no bounds.
If only i could be so gloriously incandescent.
Well, I just had to throw that in there, you guys can go back to... whatever you were talking about.
I could have used some of that early today when I was being the Prophet of Generosity.
I don't think that Rarity has a sad fate though. I like to think she makes it big, but may have to choose between fame and legacy or her friends. She chooses friends, but keeps designing the best damn shit that Equestria has and will have ever seen.

Shit, I knew this one was coming up. Twilight was one of my gateway drugs into this fandom in a way. Dash has some singularly poignant moments, and while she may be flawed in her overconfidence, it makes her an interesting character. Being supportive of Scootaloo who me my #3 favorite character on the show doesn't hurt ... at all.
I have to think about this one. BRB

Love the idea for Applebloom ...love love love it.Since just about everyone has been asking for the CMC to get their cutie marks, and it was part of Lauren's original vision for the show, I thought this would be a good topic to cover.
Here's my thoughts on the mater:
Applebloom
A pony named Gearhead comes to town, saying he's an old friend of AJ's parrents and wants to help her make Sweet Apple Acres great with mechines. Applejack is not cool with the idea, and it comes to a head with her competing against the mechine and hurting herself in the prossess. Applebloom realizes that AJ is being to stubborn and somepony has to tell her off (maybe with Luna's help?). Applebloom gets Gearhead to tell AJ how he became friends with their parrents, which gives AJ context to why Gearhead thinks the way he does and accept him. Applebloom realizes that she can get ponies to work together in a way no pony else can.
Sweetie Belle
Sapphire Shores visits Rarity's shop and overhears Sweetie Belle singing. Seeing that Sweetie Belle has real tallent, she tries to help her shine. Rarity tries to explain that Sweetie has stage fright, but she won't listen. Sweetie Belle struggles to get away from Sapphire. Eventually, Fluttershy talks calmly to the two of them, convincing Sapphire that she overstepped her bounds and Sweetie that she needs to face her fears. You can tell where it goes from there.
Scootaloo
Upset to be only foal left in her class with no cutie mark, Scootaloo visits Discord for comfort. Discord offers to take her on as an apprentice, but secretly tells Scoots parrents to let her stay over with him. He puts Scootaloo through a serries of "tests" that gradually reveal to her what her true tallent is.
. I do think that Rarity would be more supportive or involved with the Fluttershy aspect (Filly Vanilli Consistency)
Scootaloo's will come with some RD influence. I'm almost certain of that. I would actually prefer Gilda or Lightning Dust to be an additional catalyst over Discord.
