Astral Legend

@@Ochre_Dust, Rocksteady tilted his head side to side periodically then nodded with a smile. "Sure, I could use the help. It seems everypony else might be a bit busy at the moment. So, do you know anything about cooking, my young friend?" as Rock was talking he was fishing through his bag again in order to get out a few things to cook with. Pots, pans, and a couple of enchanted boxes that was given to him by Astral, a friend of his who lived in the Canterlot Mountains. These boxes, although large in size, can hold just about anything in them and was temperature controlled as well. One of the boxes held all of the vegetables then the others all the spices and herbs he liked to use. The box with the vegetables seemed to be a lot chilled in order to keep the contents fresh and good to eat while the other was slightly warm since it attuned itself to the room temperature of Rock's house and it was the right conditions to keep the herbs and spices at their flavors as he did grow most of these plants and grinded them up into powder or tiny pieces. He put the boxes aside then started to set everything as fast as he could, he was hungry and didn't really eat anything on the way to this location.

"Hmm...?" Astral looked up and seen Soda standing there behind his shoulder out the corner of his eye. Astral froze in place, the look on his face although Soda couldn't see it was one of panic. Why? It's obvious. A pony that he didn't know came out of nowhere and as standing this close to him. Astral gulped inwardly a bit before silently closing the newspaper then turned to her but at that point, his expression changed. One of the epitome of cool and calm. "Now there's something you don't see everyday. A pony out this late at night especially at midnight. If I can ask, why out so late?" he said in a semi-quiet voice. He knew that he had to keep it down in order for the ponies who were asleep to stay asleep. The last thing that Astral needed was to look suspicious. He folded the newspaper that he had and put it down, the newspaper faded then was replaced with his spellbook which he had in his saddlebag then nodded to Soda. "Come, if you want, I can keep you company for a little while before I head to Canterlot for a few errands." he said with a smile and unlike most smiles, this one seemed way more laid-back like he was smirking almost.

It was in the middle of the night, almost midnight to be exact. Astral had already put the finishing touches to his new spell with the help of Spike who had came to see him tonight. The two of them, although exhausted, was still excited at what this new spell could do even though it was quite obvious. Really, they just wanted to take it out for a test run and since it was night time and usually most ponies were asleep. This would be the perfect time to do so without Astral drawing too much attention to himself and Spike. They walked out of the cave that Astral stayed in which was in the Canterlot Mountains and the reason why he chose such a location was because he could see literally everything from this high up. They gotten close to the cliff that was on the right side since the left was the path that Astral and Spike loved to walk up when they wanted to take the long route. Astral looked over the edge then whistled a long note and held it for a moment before looking over at Spike. "That's a long fall. It's better if I do this alone. If it fails, at least it'll just be one of us getting hurt somewhat." said Astral as he peered over the edge again. "Not gonna happen. If you're going to do this, we're doing this together besides it could be fun if it works! We can go anywhere we want to go! Anyway, what did I say about us? We're the Dynamic Duo!" Spike said with a toothy grin while doing a silly pose. Astral couldn't help but laugh at him but it was all in good fun. Spike had jumped on Astral's back and held on to his mane then nodded to him. Astral did so as well then looked up to the air then toward the moon. "Well, here we go! As Luna as my witness, let this spell work and may it help ponies in the future!" Astral said as he hopped over the edge then plumdmeted toward the ground at a great speed. Spike held on as the air hit him hard and felt like it was trying to blow him off Astral's back but held on to his mane. Spike seen that they were now getting so close to the treeline of the Everfree Forest and he looked down at Astral. "IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO IT. DO IT NOW!" Spike shouted though because of the rushing wind, Astral barely heard him. Astral was already concentrating at this point as soon as they gotten halfway down the mountains during the freefall. Spike closed his eyes as he thought that they were going to crash into the trees below but Astral's eyes shot open an glowed brightly white when he gritted his teeth. His horn glowed brightly with his own crimson aura then it spreaded around his whole body and Spike's. The aura started now focus on his body now and translucent wings started to fade in until they fully materialized. White wings covered with a cosmic light, the streak the wings were giving off the look of small twinkling stars. Astral pulled up at the last minute missing the tree he and Spike were going to crash into and took off into the night sky right over Ponyville. "D-D-Did we crash...?" Spike had said in a nervous voice, covering his eyes with his claws. "Course not, my young friend. Take a look, it really is a sight to behold up here in the night sky..." Astral smiled, slowing his speed in the air to cruising speed. Spike opened one eye peering out to Ponyville and everything else he could see in the air. He couldn't believe how amazing it looked from up in the air. Spike had leaned forward just pointing out everything that he could possibly see from there. Astral had thought it was cute and had joined in with Spike although at the back of Astral's mind, he was thinking about the problems with his Spirit Wings spell that he was going to address later. After 30 minutes, they landed in the middle of Ponyville and Astral lifted up his wings until they were parallel with each other then they exploded in a bright light with feathers falling to the ground where Astral stood. Spike picked up one of the feathers and twisted it around with his fingers then looked at Astral. "Didn't you say that this spell had another function to it other than flying?" he asked as he and Astral started walking. Astral nodded as he looked ahead, the two of them going to Golden Oaks Library. "Mmm, it can be used as a long range teleportation ability so literally with it, I can get anywhere as quickly as possible. Traveling at the speed of light. Also because this spell uses ethereal energy or cosmic energy, whichever you want to call it. I disappear from the point where I teleport from and travel through the dimension where all worlds, all locations are connected, the Astral Plane. From there, I just think of the point I want to go and I get there within a flash of cosmic light a second later then done. Nothing else is needed but I have yet to try that out. One false move and I could throw myself directly somewhere I don't want to be. Like another world, perhaps." Astral shuddered to think about that but Spike couldn't wrap his head around it, he got lost the moment he started talking about moving through another dimension. A few minutes later, they came up to the library and luckily Twilight Sparkle was still asleep. Spike and Astral said their goodbyes and Spike went inside the library to get back to bed before Twilight noticed he was gone. Astral on the other hand decided to read the newspaper he bought earlier today and read it at the park bench.

@@Ochre_Dust, Rocksteady looked over at Ochre with an eyebrow raised though Rocksteady wondered why Ochre told him that but it was probably just small talk but he chuckled a bit. "Yeah, it does kinda reminds me of Canterlot. Don't really have too many fond memories of the high society ponies there but everypony else was pretty nice especially the Royal Pony Sisters. Gotta say, with a problem like that on your hooves, I'm surprised that none of them tried to doll you up further with make-up." he said as he inwardly chuckled even though it didn't appear that way on the outside. "But yes, I am trying to find something for everypony to eat. Other than working on the forge, cooking is a favorite hobby of mine. My cooking is a bit special as the herbs and spices I use tend to make ponies more alert and aware also they would be able to fight longer and have a lot more energy. Which is probably half the reason I'm here other than I'm a excellent smith. Speaking of which, I need to start working on a few things before too long." he said as he looked down at the book again and started humming. He did notice that everypony else were doing their own thing. They didn't seem to be the talkative type o rmaybe they just a little pressed about the whole situation that Equestria is in which he could understand. He kinda wondered how he stood sane all this time, most ponies would probably gone off the deep end by now. Maybe resilience just runs in the family, he guessed.

@@Dovashy, Rocksteady had walked a bit away just so he could put down his extremely large pack down onto the ground. The sound was loud, almost sounded like something huge just got knocked to the ground just now. Pots and pans clanging together, all the exotic metals that he had on hand hit the ground with such force because some of them are extremely heavy. He hoofpalmed his face just for himself not remembering that he wasn't packing lightly like everyone else. "Oh...Oops. Should've done that a little quieter. Sorry about that, everypony." he scratched the back of his head with his hoof. He just undid the pack a bit to get out the tent he was going to use. Once he got that out, he went to work on setting it up but all the while he was thinking he should've just taken the whole forge with him but he knew that he couldn't carry that if he had everything else in that pack. It was so big that when he was walking he had to somewhat walk more to the right just so it wouldn't hit Ochre. After he got his tent set up, he went ahead and gotten out all the things he was going to use to cook with for tonight. All in front of wood that he just found lying around even though he wasn't going to light it anytime soon as he still wanted to figure out just what was it he was going to cook. He left all the metals and other materials to make weapons and armor with still in the pack which were inside boxes. That on its own was 60 percent of all the total things that he had been lugging around on his back. Which he was glad that he gotten off his back for a second at least. He sat down on a log that he dragged a little ways away from his tent to sit on next to some logs that he was going to use for a campfire to cook with. With that done, he went through his extremely large pack again to get out a cookbook that a friend who lived all the way in the Canterlot Mountains had lent him. He sat down on the log to look through it and trying to decide what to make so he knew what kind of herbs and spices he'd like to use and humming to himself all the while.

@@Ochre_Dust,@@Ahri of the Wind, Rocksteady looked to the Earth Pony beside him, answering his question even though he knew he was late with it since he was lost in thought. "I apprenticed under my grandfather who was a solar guard for Princess Celestia. I learned all my metal work from him and this was before I gotten into construction. Born and raised in Manehatten though I went to school in Canterlot because my grandfather thought it'd be best for me to get the best education possible and of course I didn't argue. I learned all kinds of things other than construction, I'm also a pretty good cook too. I joined the Equestrian Army because my skills with a forge were really sought after and I was more than happy to help. If I can do something to help keep others alive then by Celestia's mane, I'd do it!" he said in a proud voice and laughing a bit. He turned around to Tiabelle then nodded although he never really noticed at how silent everyone was but all the same, he answered her question. "Name's Rocksteady. friend. Nice to meet 'cha." he said with a soft smile.

Rocksteady stood behind Stellar but like most of the ponies that were around him, he was silent. Mostly because the pack that he was carrying was so heavy yet for his strength and height, it wasn't a problem. He usually like to keep most of his materials on-hand just in case something happened even though some of the things he brought were cooking utensils, food, and all the herbs and spices that he liked to use. Just because he was way away from home doesn't mean that he was going to leave them behind. Though for a moment when he heard about the damage, he silently said to himself that nothing would've gotten destroyed if he had been there helping fight off the attack. When he heard the question, he turned back to say something but then again he figured that someone would answer the question so he turned back in front. He need time to think just how much new armor and weapons he was going to need to make and if they were going to need help with repairing what was damaged as he still had his building skills about him..

Oh, sorry. Keep doing that, it's not because I keep forgetting about it but because I always seem to update this character when I'm half asleep. About the thing about talking to the moon, I thought about it but I'm sure that no one could hear him actually talking to it, can they? He no longer does it, just when he was living by himself in the cave for a while. While he has heard the story about Princess Luna becoming Nightmare Moon,. not everypony has to be afraid of Nightmare Moon or as an extension, Princess Luna do they? After all, it's still Princess Luna. The only thing he doesn't know is that she's no longer Nightmare Moon and since he sleeps during the day and stay awake during the night, he never would've heard about it since he's usually alone. But if the line about him coming to Ponyville after Nightmare Moon is a problem then I can change that. I don't want to exactly change the part about him talking to the moon but I can change about him wanting Luna to hear him. That wouldn't be a problem.

Right then, I got'cha. I completely understand, I can change some of that. Guess I just wanted to do something just a bit different but at least now I got a second opinion. Maybe now I can shape him up. Though I didn't mean to make him as strong as Twilight because actually he's not as I made him out to be. The spells he makes are simple spells. Not really something you can call powerful though already existing spells he uses in different ways than most unicorns that use magic. Really, it's more about imagination than his magic power. I'll change what I have to. Sorry for the trouble, it's my first time making a character such as this so feedback like this is appreciated.

@,@@Lightwing, Astral heard the unicorn talking to him in his dreams, he certainly heard the crash too while he was sleeping. Astral was too tired to move at the moment because he hasn't got the hang of the Astral Projection spell yet so it does take up a lot of energy to use to separate part of your main consciousness to a ghostly image of yourself. He opened his eyes, panting quite a bit and got up from the ground with his legs twitching a bit. "I can't rest yet, there's too many more that's in need of help. Since all of them are helping the mare, I shall tend to the rest with haste. Astral Recovery..." Astral had said in a quiet voice. A green, translucent light surrounded his body as he closed his eyes. It danced around him a few seconds before his body absorbed the light into itself bringing his body's health back at peak strength and which activated the special buff of being healed by the spell. Rings of the same green light had wrapped around his hooves, making his body feel lighter than a feather then disappeared. He didn't waste any time, he used his radar spell in order to find the next discorded pony. Now that his body was lighter, he could run much faster without expending much energy to do so for a short while. Although as he was running like the wind through the town toward the batpony, Astral closed his eyes to connect his consciousness to the unicorn who talked to him earlier and spoke in his mind. "You're welcome. The mare will come around, I'm sure she will. Give her my regards, although...I think I might've spooked her a bit with my ghostly form. Still, I wish you all the best of luck." Astral said to him then focused his efforts back on where the batpony crashed. It didn't take Astral long to get there, the radar spell told him that the pony was in this very tree and he looked up to see Cloudsdale up in the sky. Also an unusual amount of pegasus flying around as well. He wondered what happened but he could guess seeing as how aggressively they were flying but he decided to get back to the present problem. He jumped up to a branch with ease, seeing the batpony there lying limply on a branch. Astral's eyes widened in surprise but quickly used telekinesis to get her out of the tree. Slowly, but surely. He didn't know if the batpony was hurt or not but falling from Cloudsdale is no easy fall even if you landed in a tree. Astral jumped out of the tree as soon as he put the batpony on the ground softly as he could. He landed beside her and sat down near her. "Hmm...She's not in any grave danger just yet but she's hurt bad. That was no small fall. Batponies, I heard, are a little more resilient to physical injury. Good, there's no telling what might've happened if she were a regular pegasus. Still, she's discorded. I doubt that she'd trust a complete stranger but...I'll just have to do what I can. It's just that...she looks like...I'm sure it's not the same mare I'm thinking of even though I only met her once and that was awkward...There I go rambling again, I better help her." Astral went ahead and used his Astral Recovery spell on the batpony, effectively bring her body back up to 100% again. He hoped still that he wasn't too late with it. "Hey, are you okay? ...Er, ah, well, how are you feeling? You should be okay now with the spell I just healed with you with. I just hope I wasn't late with it." Astral knew that she wasn't feeling well. She was discorded, after all. It's just that, he didn't really know how to talk to new ponies so he felt a little awkward trying to speak with her.

@Miss Reaper, @Drakk_Moonshine Astral watched her with slightly wide eyes but he needed to keep his emotions under control so that he could maintain the spell. "Isn't that...Spike told me about this but I didn't...well, I thought...Guess that doesn't matter now, does it?" Astral said as he stepped his ghostly body inside of the house. Now, he needed to be careful not to get close to her, although he may appear ghostly now. She'd definitely feel a presence in the room if he stood too close to her. "I guess he's up to his old tricks again. I'm not surprised that I can feel this from far away too. It's not just here but everywhere although very faint. Thank goodness for that radar spell. But I've got to at least have those ponies outside this place to get in to help her. She needs her friends and...I guess complete strangers but they seem to have good intentions just like I do." Astral quietly made his way toward the door but stuck close to the walls passing Galatea so that she doesn't feel that he's there then stood in front of the door. He knew in order to use magic in this form, he'd need to pass it through his subconscious of his main body and it would mean that his ghostly body would be seen for a few seconds since magic tend to materialize things that are not often seen visibly even if it was only for a few seconds. Astral's main body took a deep breath just as his ghostly form did to synchronize their consciousness with each other and Astral used his magic that kept his ghostly form unseen and used it to materialize his body a bit then to use the last bit of that magic to unlock the door. He used his hoof to turn the door handle halfway to signify to the rest of them outside that the door was unlocked. He only could do it a few seconds before his hoof went through the door handle. No doubt that Galatea could see him now. A tall, crimson and black maned stallion with a black cape on. Astral turned around to her but he didn't say anything to her at first. He just looked at her with a smile then walked toward her way. "It's time you woke up. What you feel isn't real but it will be up to you and them to get you back to the way you originally was. Don't think for a second that you're not worth it because that's obviously not true, especially when you have complete strangers willing to help you. You can do it, I have faith that you can and I'm sure that they do too." he said in his deep voice but since he had a ghostly form, it almost sounded ethereal in a way. Soon after that, he couldn't hold his concentration on the spell anymore and his ghostly body faded away. Making his real body gasp in surprise of having himself return to his normal body. "There. I hope that helped you ponies. I...I need to take a bit of rest..." Astral gotten up from the ground but soon his legs buckled under him and he fell again. Although neglecting to rest after every time he conducting his experiments really had put him in a bind. He was just going to sleep right here. It was still night out so no pony would notice him and he knew that he could probably wake up before the sun came back then have enough time to head back to the cave where he lived in before checking on the other places where they might be this same problem. Thank goodness that he had a modified radar-like spell at his disposal that he could use at anytime. With that, he went ahead and fell asleep right there on the ground while he let the rest do what they needed to do.

@Miss Reaper Astral heard yelling near where he was, he quietly looked around the corner of a house to see a group of ponies standing next to the door of another. Knowing the house was the source of the yelling but what was happening, he didn't know. He didn't want to be near the group. No, this distance was good enough for now besides he doubted that they could sense him there anyway. Although he did see something interesting, an actual live robot. Now that was something you didn't see everyday. It was unfathomable to think that Ponyville built robots, would it? Nah, it had to be the work of another pony. Perhaps the one inside of the house, seeing as how everyone on the outside seemed to be very worried about the shouting pony inside, he guessed. He turned his head from the corner and leaned against the wall. "I doubt what I think what is going on is right. There's way too many strangers to say it's something as simple as a disagreement between friends. Hmm, maybe I should use my Astral Projection spell to look inside the house. At least that way, I'll see what's going on and no pony will notice I'm here." he said quietly to himself. Astral sat down just a bit closer to the house that everypony was crowded around though he was still two houses away. He closed his eyes and his crimson magic aura faintly wrapped itself around his body. He started to concentrate on the house itself then a ghostly image of himself rose from his body then floated upwards until coming up behind the house. He used his projected image to stick his ghostly head inside of the house in order to look inside of it. At least to give him an idea of what was going on so that he wasn't guessing and maybe lend some help if needed to be

Astral was sitting inside the cave that he lived inside of in the Canterlot Mountains. This particular cave overlooked Froggy Bottom Bog, Everfree Forest, and Ponyville. This cave was dank, dark, and gloomy. Usually water dripping through the cracks of the mountain rocks were a bit of a problem but Astral couldn't be happier here especially when it came to having peace and quiet when conducting magicial experiments. Astral never really had a reason to come out of the cave other than to get some supplies. Why he lived this way was something only known to him and his parents. He was in the middle of revising a spell he created and was writing down some notes in order to keep track so he didn't have everything in his head. He could feel a slight unpleasant feeling in the air as the wind blew in from the huge cave opening. The candle that was beside him was flickering until the last of the wind blew it out. Astral narrowed his eyes a bit then got up from the desk that he was sitting at. "I guess this'll have to wait until later...Something doesn't feel quite right. Maybe I should check it out, I doubt it's anything major." With that, Astral stepped outside of the cave sometime later with him wearing his favorite black cape that he always wore nearly at all times. He looked to the distance where Ponyville was with his crimson colored eyes then gave a small breath in then out. It was a while since he returned to Ponyville although he never had anything against the town, he just preferred the peace and quiet. Deciding not to waste any time, he hopped over the cliff edge then dived toward the ground and at the last second, used telekinesis to completely stop his descent and landed on the ground softly just in the middle of the swamp. Luckily, the hydra that lived there was still asleep on the other side of the large lake of murky water that sat next to him. He quietly made his exit toward Ponyville following the mysterious feeling in the air. He hoped, however, this particular feeling wasn't as bad as a problem as the feeling in his gut made it out to be. It only took him 15 minutes to get to Ponyville from where he was walking and found himself in the middle of Ponyville right near the market. He hated being in such a public place but it couldn't be avoided. "I'm here now...I wonder where this feeling is coming from. It's unusual to feel such...dread and despair coming from this place. I've got a bad feeling about this." Astral said while he was mumbling to himself. He went ahead to take a walk around town to see if he could spot anything unusual. Knowing this place it'd be easy to guess considering how Ponyville usually is. He knew it wouldn't take long and he didn't exactly want to get completely involved since he felt that whatever it is could've been handled by that certain group, speaking of which he wondered if they felt it too. No time to let his mind wander about, he needed to find the source of this feeling and do something about it, however he could. His parents lived here, after all. If this place was in danger, he was going to do something about it before it got out of hand.

Also I play all sorts of games, like Minecraft, Resident Evil, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Dead Space, The Elder Scrolls Series, Super Mario, Metroid, Legend of Zelda, Left 4 Dead, The Fallout Series, The Metal Gear Series, Dark Souls 1 and 2, to name a few. Way too many to name but I basically like anything and everything. I'm not picky when it comes to games and like to play them all when given the chance. You name it, I've probably played it. From the Atari to 360. Plan on getting a PS4 and a better PC soon.

My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Rainbow Dash How did you find MLP Forums?: Google How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Well, to be perfectly honest, it happened when my friend was telling me about the show and tried to get me to watch it. I didn't want to simply because it wasn't my cup of tea at the time though I thought the idea of the show was good. My friend got me to make my own OC pony and roleplay with her about the whole thing even though I knew next to nothing about MLP. It didn't sit right with me that I was roleplaying MLP with nothing to go on so I decided to sit down one day and watch all the episodes so far then one thing led to another and ended up liking all aspects of MLP. I'm a huge gamer, I play all games that come out usually. To indie games to the big titles, I've played most of them. I don't really listen to reviews and don't judge games until I've played them. The same thing goes with anime, tv shows, movies, and books. I like to read as well and I love to write all kinds of stories, whether it be serious or just all around chaos and crazy, like the mind of Discord. I'm a 22 year old guy and I'm very nice and even easier to approach so please don't be intimidated by me. I promise that I won't bite you or anything like that.
