I'm sorry to hear about that, truly. As for the situation, I'm only throwing out ideas. You could try undelete, in my experience it tends to work pretty well.
Okay, to the complete shock of myself (and possibly poor memory is to blame here), I was able to find that one pic again after checking my private messages on dA, in full resolution and all. Words cannot explain how relieved I am about that.
